Gilberto wants to switch sides

I’ll be delighted to be at Wembley this evening to see Gilberto run out for Brazil against an England side featuring such luminaries as Nicky Shorey, Ledley King, and Alan Smith. However, Silva’s loyalties will be split – at the end of next year he hopes to gain British citizenship.
The good news about that wish is that he’s likely to stay for at least one year. You can’t underestimate how invaluable he’s been. The Times’ Finktank rated him as the third best player in the Premiership this year. God only knows where’d we’d be without his goals and cool defensive knowhow.
That is pretty much it. Apparently Chelsea have moved for Pizarro on a free. Keep watching those other clubs with jealous eyes – there’s no movement from us…
