Eduardo will only thrive with others around him

So, Eduardo has been signed, sealed, and delivered. Chronologically, it’s probably more accurate to say he was sealed (in the womb), delivered (at birth), and then signed (by us). Whatever. He’s here.
He’s joined by Havard Nordveit, the now seventeen-year-old Norwegian centre-half, whose signed for around £2m.
You can read the first interview with Eduardo “Dudu” da Silva here. Nordveit doesn’t get an interview. He’s not important enough.
It’s lovely that we’ve signed someone, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it’s not enough in isolation. Before this transfer window I would’ve suggested we needed three new first-team players, above all a winger. Since then, Thierry Henry has left, and we’re still wingerless. In many ways, we’re worse off than we were before.
Still, there’s a long way to go. And whilst Cesc staying is a bonus, this is undoubtedly the biggest signing we could make this summer.
