Arsene is armed and dangerous; Go Ahead Vincent

Imagine walking into a press conference, and yelling at the assembled media:
“I’ve got a squad and I’m not afraid to use it.”
Hell of a line. I’d be cowering in the corner.
In seriousness, nor should he be afraid. The players he brought in on Sunday are top class: Gilberto and Lehmann have proven pedigree, Denilson and Diaby masses of potential, and Bendtner and Eduardo are forming a lethal partnership. There is a myth in the media that we have a shallow squad, but watching these boys grind out a result on Sunday disproves that. Even on days when they can’t play the slick football we’re used to seeing, they can produce results – it’s an invaluable trait.
Sunday’s selection does raise some questions about who will play on Wednesday against Tottenham. With the ‘Carling Cup team’ playing at the weekend, will Arsene be tempted to restore some first-teamers for the clash with Spurs? I’d imagine not, but I’m sure we’ll find out today. Perhaps one or two will be thrown in just to annoy those Lillywhite bastards.
Finally, Vincent van den Berg has joined the superbly named Go Ahead Eagles on loan, although I hear that after a none-too-impressive stint in our youth team, there’s more chance of Arsenal signing me than there is of him ever being brought back.
And I am rubbish.
