Hoyte to start + Left-winger to arrive in January

Bacary Sagna will get a well-earned rest tonight night (obviously partying hard on New Year’s Eve), and that means Justin Hoyte will make his first Premier League appearance this season. Theo Walcott and Emmanuel Eboue are also back in the squad, and I imagine one of them will play on the right flank, with Tomas Rosicky coming in from the left, making it Aleksandr Hleb’s turn to take a breather.
Upfront, Emmanuel Adebayor ought to be partnered by Eduardo, who can look to build on his match-winning performance against Everton with a rare start at the Emirates Stadium. Arsene has compared the Croatian’s sharp-shooting skills to those of a particularly predatory Englishman:
“Eduardo has the look of a young Robbie Fowler in his finishing attitude. He has short control, a short backlift and quick finishing. It does not always look spectacular but it is always out of reach of the goalkeeper.”
With Robin van Persie still a couple of weeks from returning, it’d be great if Eduardo and Adebayor could click in games like today.
The transfer window opened at midnight, and contrary to what Arsene Wenger has said, there will be additions to the playing staff. All summer long we cried out for a left-sided player, and it looks as if he may soon arrive. Keep your eyes are ears peeled.
West Ham beat United at the weekend and did the double over us last season – they really are getting far too cocky. Time to put thing’s straight. Come on Arsenal.
