Can anybody out there play upfront?

Wanted: International class striker, with presence, good touch, and decent finishing. Needs to be free tonight. And better than Jeremie Aliadiere.
Because as it is, you see, young Aliadiere is our only fit and available striker. Unless, of course, you include Anthony Stokes, who surely won’t be involved, despite having finished his loan spell at Falkirk.
Adebayor has a thigh problem, Van Persie and Baptista both picked up knocks against Sheffield United, and Theo Walcott has a bad back. In fact, things are so bad, we might have to pick Thierry Henry!…
…Yes, that’s right, Thierry Henry. After over a month out of the side, he may well be drafted in tonight to cover for our injury crisis. If he does come back, it will be fascinating to see how he approaches the game. I just hope he isn’t thrown into the fray too early – the original plan was for him to return on Saturday, possibly alongside Emmanuel Adebayor.
But if he does play, we might, just might, catch a glimpse of the old Thierry Henry. The one who did this:
Hope that’s whetted your appetite.
Charlton are a terrible side, Alan Pardew and Arsene Wenger have a bit of history, and Henry might be back. Add those factors to the defeat at the weekend, and Arsenal must and should win tonight.
Meanwhile, it’s all gone a bit wrong for the loan rangers: Lupoli is off to Italy, Bendtner is getting booed by the Brummies, and Muamba has broken someone’s leg. At least Stokes signed off from Falkirk in style.
