The above is not a direct quote, but it’s surely what he meant to say. As Arsenal fans, we can’t afford to be sanctimonious about diving: both Emmanuel Eboué and Robin van Persie have proven themselves to be adept con-men. But neither of them have come out into the press claiming they would “never” stoop so low, in spite of obvious evidence to the contrary.
In the wake of Didier Zokora’s dive against Portsmouth, it is an issue that is cropping up time and time again, with The Times today branding diving and agents the games two major scourges.
As you can tell, there’s no Arsenal news at all.
