Potential signing #1 goes City’s way

With Arsenal in dire need of a central midfielder with Premier League experience, it’s no surprise the name of Gareth Barry has spent the last year being bandied about more than a rock band travelling exclusively by means of elastic band propulsion.
However, Aston Villa have today confirmed that Barry is in talks with Manchester City over a possible transfer. Whilst the likes of Liverpool may attempt a late coup, it’ll be hard to beat City on the financial front.
I don’t think many viewed Barry as ‘ideal’, but I certainly took part in the aforementioned bandying and would see any move to City as one less credible target in Arsene’s summer splash.
With Real President Florentino Perez ominously stating that he considers Xabi Alonso “the best passer of the ball in Europe”, we could soon cross another name of any potential list of candidates.
And now, the good news:
Oh. There is none.
