A period of reflection

If I’d written a report of Saturday’s game on the day, it would have been full of bile and vitriol.
If I’d written it today, in the light of Manchester United dropping two points at Middlesbrough, it’d probably be full of an insane and unlikely hope.
So tomorrow I’ll be giving my thoughts on the game, our form, and our hopes for the rest of the season.
In the mean-time, the news:
- Future Ajax manager Marc Van Basten has met with Arsenal over a potential link-up between the clubs. If it enabled us to get at future stars to roll of their remarkable production line, I’d be delighted.
- Osasuna want to keep winger Carlos Vela on loan. Sadly for them, I think he’s needed here rather urgently.
- Arsenal reportedly want to sign Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland. With Manuel Almunia having just signed a new deal, I think that’s pretty unlikely.
- Theo Walcott says he recently asked Arsene why he wasn’t getting into the first team. It seems he’s taken whatever advice he was given on board.
See you tomorrow. It might be a bit of an intense read. I’m kind of dreading writing it.
