I always reckoned Seb Larsson was a good player…

Now, after this stunning injury time goal beat Spurs yesterday, I’m sure:

Cheers for that Seb. You may have left Arsenal for Birmingham, but anyone who can do that to Tottenham is clearly still a Gunner at heart.

Will Jens Lehmann be a Gunner come February? I have to say I’d be amazed if he was. Nevertheless, I’m not surprised that there are suitors for his talents – regardless of what’s happened this season, he’s still a very good goalkeeper, and I’m sure he can re-establish his reputation in time for Euro 2008. Just not with us.

Arsenal.com have confirmed that it is unlikely either Cesc Fabregas or Aleksandr Hleb will be available in Wednesday’s game with Newcastle. That in turn places a huge creative burden on Tomas Rosicky. I wonder if it might be worth supplementing our strikeforce with Eduardo da Silva, who has shown glimpses of being able to unlock a defence with a shimmy and clever pass.

Newcastle are in bad form, but that can make them dangerous. As Emmanuel Adebayor says:

“The most important thing is to focus on our job. We don’t care what people are saying. It is good that people are talking good things about the club and we are very happy about those things.

But the crucial thing is to keep our head on our shoulders, keep on doing a good job, keep on performing like we are now and at the end of the season we can talk about whether we finish unbeaten or not.”

Imagine the interviewer who has to write down what Adebayor says. They must have developed a shorter version of short-hand just to keep up with his speech.

Till tomorrow.

UPDATE: Oh, I completely forgot – we’re playing Burnley away in the FA Cup Third Round. Could be a tough test for the kids, or an easy ride for the first-team. I suppose it depends on where Arsene’s priorities lie at the time. We shall see.
