Is Mathieu Flamini jumping before he’s pushed?

So, it looks like Mathieu Flamini wants to leave. I would probably dismiss these quotes as poor translation, were it not for The Sun going and getting hold of his agent/lawyer for a few more words.
It’s not hard to understand why he’s going. The main thing for me is that Diaby is so much better than he is. That makes Flamini at least fourth choice, and that doesn’t even take Denilson into account. The writing was on the wall when he was left out of the sixteen againt Liverpool. It’s not even beyond the realms of possibility that he has already spoken to Arsene about wanting to leave, hence Denilson being selected over him of late.
He’s a good, energetic, versatile (when he wants to be) player who has always shown plenty of committment. However, his technical level is just too low for him to play for our first team week-in and week-out.
In other slightly belated news, our great run as a club continued when the U-18 side unluckily bowed out of the Youth Cup in extra-time of the semi-final second leg. By all accounts Fran Merida was outstanding. Expect Arsene to take that as proof he doesn’t need to sign anyone this summer.
Finally: anyone want a job?
