Battle of North London ends All Square

They had warned us that it was “their time”. And for 45 minutes, it probably was. An early Ledley King header gave them the lead, and we were all over the place. Flamini was lost, Reyes luckless, and Campbell clueless.

But in the second half, galvanised by the addition of Robert Pires and later Robin van Persie, Arsenal were completely dominant. Their early confidence faltering, Spurs fell deeper and deeper, and eventually a Paul Robinson error led to Robert Pires sliding in a cool 15-yard finish.

If any side looked like winning, it was ours, but Tottenham managed to hold on until full-time.

So, 1-1. The first half performance was dreadful. The second half, superb, and, hopefully, this will be the one that will “decide our season”, as Wenger suggests.

His claim that we have been “reborn” will be tested tomorrow night when we take on Sparta Prague. Team news is basically: Freddie out, Thierry back.

Thierry back. Good good.
