Gunnerblog, that is.
Not Arsenal.
But Arsenal are back.
As is Sol Campbell, who netted twice in the 2-0 win over Everton.
It’s been a bit of a shoddy month for this site, but now that I’m back from the wastelands of Scotland, we’ll be returning to daily updates.
Todays news is rather nice: Gilberto has signed a contract extension until 2009. Apparently that means that by the time it runs up, he’ll be 33, and rubbish. Good stuff.
Since Vieira left, he’s really stepped up a gear. I think we appreciate him now more than ever. When we had Paddy, we really did have two world class defensive midfielders.
Ah well. I’m sure he’s playing really crap for Juve…
Oh.

I didn’t actually see the game, but by all accounts it was a tricky encounter.
Sol Campbell made his come-back, whilst Robin van Persie was harshly sent off for a high foot.
The goals came from a brilliant Gilberto header, and a scrappy Bergkamp effort, either side of a magnificent lob from the Swiss. Bergkamp’s goal arrived in the 92nd minute, after he had come on for the ineffective Fabregas.
All I have to say is that in the Champions League, 3 points is 3 points. You can’t complain.
In other news, the fantastically-named Rami Shaaban is training with the club. Could the Egyptian earn a contract when the Estonian Poom returns to Sunderland? We’ll see.

Not a great statistic.
Middlesbrough played well, but we really should have killed them off early on. The fact remains, however, that an Arsenal side without Thierry Henry just isn’t particularly clinical.
And an Arsenal midfield without Patrick Vieira doesn’t yet appear to be able to dominate.
If I had more time I’d go into more detail.
I don’t.
I won’t.
Back full-time soon.
