“We will have some money to spend in the summer and if there was a chance to sign David Beckham, we would look at it,”.
Of course, it could all be an elaborate smoke-screen. Or just AW’s way of getting back at Real for the way they’ve spoken openly about wanting to snatch away our best players.
But there may be some grain of truth in it. If we’re going to try and fill a 60,000 seater stadium, the presence of David Beckham wouldn’t do any harm.
Our set pieces would improve, and we’ve have a right-sided option that would provide genuine width.
Worth keeping an eye on, at least.
West Brom tonight. Could be a toughie. Actually, I’d probably take a point.
