Villans chased off by Awesome Arsenal

7 comments October 17th, 2004

The “Arsenal Exhibitionists” moved 5 points clear of Chelsea with a devastating 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

Stand-in keeper Stefan Postma was by far Villa’s best player, and had it not been for his heroics it could easily have been 6 or 7. Postma’s own assessment of the game was fairly accurate, describing his own side as “miles off” Arsenal.

We were awesome. It would be difficult to pick out a man-of-the-match, but Henry was typically superb. However Cesc, Bergkamp, Pires, Reyes, et all were all excellent. The only negative point was the fact that Patrick Vieira sustained an injury which should keep him out of Wednesday’s tie against Panathanaikos, and makes him a doubt for Sunday’s big one against Manchester United.

Speaking of which, Alex Ferguson has been mouthing off about nothing in particular again. There’s a word for this. It’s called “beingaredfacedscottishwanker“.

Oh, and Arsene is also fearing Edu’s departure. I think it’s probably quite likely, though. Which is a shame, because we were incredibly loyal to him through lots of problems.

Oh well.

Have a good Sunday, if such a thing is possible.
