A reason to sign Royston Drenthe

0 guns August 7th, 2007

He likes a scrap with Liverpool, it seems. In seriousness, with Real and Chelsea’s respective bids for Drenthe stalling over the Arjen Robben deal, perhaps the onus is on us to step in.

Congratulations to Ryan Garry on his move from Arsenal to Bournemouth - not usually something to celebrate, but for the injury-troubled Garry (now almost 24) it could represent the belated start of a once promising career.

Oh, and dream on, Alex.

I’d give you more but it seems all Arsenal news has been cancelled in the light of my absence from Britain.

Here’s hoping I’ve just jinxed myself and this week brings a flurry of transfer activity.

Too late - he is off to Madrid.

  • 9. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:35 am

Royston Drenthe is set to take Feyenoord to the court of arbitration to secure himself a move to Real Madrid, according to reports in the Dutch media.

The in-demand forward has enlisted the help of lawyer Harro Knijff, who supported Ronald and Frank de Boer when they had a similar case against Ajax in 1998.

The 20-year-old has just signed a contract until 2011 with the Rotterdam club but is now eager to move to Spain.

“I can confirm that I am busy preparing the request for an arbitration case,” Knijff told Sportweek magazine.

Feyenoord are determined to hold onto their prize asset though, and earlier this year rejected a reported 12.5-million-euro bid from the Spanish champions.

But there is every chance Drenthe will go once a club meets Feyenoord’s undisclosed valuation.

“We regret that things are turning towards this,” director Peter Vogelzang told the club website.

“We have made our standpoint public a few times already and nothing has changed in that: Feyenoord doesn’t want to see Royston Drenthe go to another club.

“Our intention is to keep him at the club for at least one more year and if possible longer. We did not extend and renew his contract in April until the summer of 2011 for nothing.

“Feyenoord only wants to sell Drenthe if we get an offer that is as high as we think Royston Drenthe is worth to us.”

    Hi M8’s,

Drenthe would be a good signing but I do not agree with anyone who slags off Hleb.

Hleb is a great player with bags of skill but ufortunately he was being utilised in the wrong psoition …it’s like playing Tony Adams on the wing!

Now the Boss has found a system that can accomodate Alexander Hleb in a Free Role behind the striker or reffered as the hole. There he can unlock defences and also score goals.

    Watch the space..

  • 20. enki  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:47 am

is drenthe that much better than our current players. can he makes an immediate impact or will it take a while to get going.if the answers to those questions is no then there is no point in buying a youngster for that price. it make more sense to developed someone in our reserve/academy into that role.

How much have u guys seen of this fella? We have options at left mid but what we need is a player who will provide pace and more importantly width. Is Drenthe that player?

  • 35. Arnold  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:09 am

the next ribery Ismaïl Aissati will cost as 2-4m if real madrid dont steal it from are nose

  • 42. Bombay Gooner  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:26 am

Well, i think thats about it for us in the transfer market. I thought about it a few days ago. When we signed Sagna, i was hopeful we’d bring someone else in. But that hasn’t happened, and i dont think it will. Arsene has very little money to spend. And mind you, left wingers dont come cheap, considering the fact that there are so few of them right now in Europe atleast. He knows we need width. But he’s found an alternative solution. I’m convinced that he’ll switch to 4-5-1 this season, or even a 4-4-1-1, with Hleb unlocking the opposition defences. Plus, we have Clichy and Sagna, two fast and attacking fullbacks, who will charge down the flank on every given opportunity. I guess thats what Wenger has been planning for sometime.

Anyways, i hope i’m wrong. I hope we sign atleast one player by the end of this week. Make no mistake, our team needs another striker, a left winger and a central midfielder, cos Song is shite.

If i was Arsene, i’d do everything possible to sign Robinho. But we need funds for that. God knows where we are gonna get it from..

  • 49. Brian Talbot Free Kick King  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:43 am

seems pretty obvious now that we arent going to sign anyone else untill January.
    team will be:
    Jens

    Sagna Kolo Gallas Clichy

    Eboue Gilberto Cesc Rosicky

    Hleb/Dudu

    RVP

Not a bad team…..and that defence will become awsome this year i think. We already have oin place the 2 future french fullbacks!!

  • 50. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:43 am

37 - ahahaha ’scores goals like lampard’, you mean rebounds, deflections and mishit free kicks? yes exactly the kind of scummy goal that we all hate lampard for!! bring him to the grove immediately, and better yet, PAY MONEY for him.

  • 51. steelyboy  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:51 am

Drenthe looks ok. Not convinced myself, but we need a winger for sure. I think the best ones have been sold already and that’s why Wenger is not too sure about buying one right now. Maybe Walcot will do the trick, lets hope he stays fit huh?

By the way i got a ticket to the game on Sunday. Thanks for the suggestions before guys (esp. TC)

  • 52. Brian Talbot Free Kick King  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:58 am

STEELYBOY: Where did u get a ticket from?

  • 53. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:58 am

51 - yeah i cant see wenger buying someone anymore, i think he has been left alot of dregs, and i cant see him wanting to buy an overvalued left winger. though i wouldnt put it past him to buy a young winger ready to be converted. anyone think that the new spurs chief scout (who used to be at arsenal) has starting sneaking away some of our bargains ie some of the ones we might have otherwise bought?

  • 54. Bergy  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:00 am

Arsene has alot of money left. players that we buy came out of henry transfer.we sold reyes and fred so thats a bout 10mil left that he can buy with . And he hasnt even touch the money of the transfer budget yet . Theres alot of money left

  • 55. Bergy  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:03 am

    Ok wishful thinking!

  • 58. Dick (aka Willy)  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:10 am

I dunno, I think Wenger has one more signing in him yet before the transfer deadline on August 31. We may well start the season without signing anyone else, but I still think Wenger will make a move for a target or two before the window shuts.

  • 59. Dick (aka Willy)  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:13 am

    BOMBAY GOONER —

we don’t need ANOTHER central midfielder, mate! Flamini, Diaby, Gilberto, Denilson, Fabregas already in contention for just two starting spots in central midfield - plus Hleb and Rosicky can play there too.

Agree tho - Song is shite.

    I WANT ANELKA!

  • 60. davey b  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:17 am

yeah let’s bang the anelka drum instead ot that overpriceed quaresma ,after all anelka has done it in the prem and does’nt need time to adapt

  • 61. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:19 am

    davey b,

He treated you like bitches though.

You lot have lost your balls as a club a little bit do you know that.

  • 62. DeiseGooner  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:20 am

bang the anelka drum davey he aint signing for the arsenal , Wenger said as much himself. What do you reckon to this Afellay guy from psv ?

  • 63. davey b  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:21 am

  • 65. Bergy  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:22 am

So if we get anelka whos gona play on the left? To pay 10mil for anelka at age 28 very short term. arsene should have gone vi simio but althletico bought him

  • 66. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:25 am

    davey b,

He aint even that good. What he really done in his career - Nothing.

He’s great on his day but so was Ronnie Rosenthal

    Cesc Fabregas, he’s gay

  • 68. davey b  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:27 am

put it this way i am hopefull for eduardo but if he fail’s to adapt then who’s gonna score all the goal’s surely not just RVP, and let’s have it right eduardo looked real good in pre season but that was playing against non premiership outfit’s, i want a winger aswell as a foward and you aint gonna find a foward who cost less than 10 million who is as good as anelka and has already proved he can do it in the prem

  • 69. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:28 am

like ive said before put him back in arsenal shirt and watch how good he is for arsenal ,put it this way i dont see the difference in spending 17/18 million on bent and 10 million on anelka he maybe younger than anelka but anelka has got more quality in my eye’s

  • 71. Nick  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:31 am

    68. Davey b… err. Bendtner? Ade?

  • 72. davey b  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:33 am

nick do me a favour mate adebayor is gonna be lucky to hit double figure’s ,as for bendtner he’s just a kid and has done nothing to warrant people to think he can score goal’s in the prem

  • 73. Columbo M  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:34 am

Bloggie… Have you heard the news that Man City are listening to offers for Dickov. He’s obviously the answer, but I don’t suppose they’ll let him go for less than £20 Mil.

  • 74. madhu_bangalore  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:36 am

Iam prepared to give Ade time as this would be second season and should more goals. Remember Drogba also struggled in the first season. So let us give him time and see how he performs till Jan. Then we can slog him off

  • 75. Romford Pele  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:36 am

cannot fooking wait for sunday - row 3 between the goal and the corner flag in the north stand for me - right in front of where RVP will be celebrating his winner!

    davey b,

Has Anelka ever been in the top two highest scorers two years running in any league?

He was shit at Real, he was shit at Liverpool, He was shit at Man City, He’s shit at Bolton.

But he’ll scote the occasional great goal and everyone thinks he’s amazing. He’s no better the Yakubu / Viduka / Saha

  • 78. davey b  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:48 am

he’s not done it consistenttly becuase he’s has’nt had stablility since he left arsenal ,i think your are trying to infiltrate the arsenal and pass off your comment’s for spur’s benefit

  • 79. Nick  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:48 am

    72. Let’s see what happens…

I am confident that, Dudu, Ade, Bendtner will provide good supporting cover for RVP. Can’t think of a better supporting strike force in the premiership actually. When you think that a few midfielders will step up (Cesc, Rosicky, Denilson, Helb, Walcott) and there are the usual scoring midfielder still around (Gilberto and the Flamster), things are looking bright. I still think another person on the left would complete things though.

  • 80. FACT  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:50 am

This club is currently being run like a joke. If Arsene Wenger does not make a bid for Drenthe then he’s a fool. And worse still, if he has not AT LEAST signed a winger soon, then it would mean that he has no intention of fighting to win the league, only to go for 4th place.

FACT - You are a tool. Drenthe has had a couple of good games in the U21’s finals and all of a sudden he is blimming Johan Cruyff! Do me a favour. Wenger will still buy someone, but expect it will be someone fairly unknown..

    That’s just gay

  • 104. T-Bone and pepper sauce  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:27 pm

I think this team is so weak I am actually expecting Sparta Prague to knock us out of the CL Qualifiers. I cannot believe how deluded some of you have become. All of a sudden, AdeTool, Bendtner and Dog-dudu are now all ‘world class’ and ‘better than Henry’. Listen to yourselves some of you. This team is not shit but it is pooh compared to the top 3. Nowhere near. Wenger is not serious. He has money to spend but cares more about showing off his economics degree and prowess. Make no mistake there are many, many players out there on the market who would strengthen this side: Sneijder, Quaresma, Van der Vaart, MGP, Huntelaar, Diego, Nasri..all of whom are available. Every player has a price but Arsenal it seems are simply never ever willing tpo pay it. Even after selling off their best players to our parent club FC Barcelona. This team finished 21 pts behind the leaders last season. The season before that, if finished 24 pts behind the leaders. And least i remind you, it was only because a certain Mr T. Henry came off the bench against the spuds at Highbury and scored an incredible goal that we were able to scrape 4th place on the final day in the end. Oh yeah, and he scored a hat-trick that day vs Wigan. Cannot remember AdeTool doing anything vs the spuds. This fallacy that he ’set up the goal’ is horseshit. He miscontrolled the ball with his first touch and played a hopeful punt into the area. Where was RVP that day? Injured again. So we have sold off the man who made this team tick and saved them numerous times…but expect we will finish closer than 21 pts with some unknown lightweight Crazilian and aquality Dutchman with bones made of glass? Listen to yourselves. Away at Blackburn in the second week of the season it will begin to unravel before your eyes. Some of you’ll get ecstatic at scraping it past weak Fulham at home but away at Ewood park youll begin to realize the shit

  • 105. jamesD  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:29 pm

Dilly that is an perfect tactic 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 wot ever its called, big phil will add height and thomas or helb will be playmaker

  • 106. DeiseGooner  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:31 pm

Way to support the team T-bone - so the whole lot is just shit , thats what youre saying right ?

  • 107. gazzap  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:38 pm

    how about 3-4-3?

    Toure Djourou Gallas
    Eboue………………….Clichy

  • 110. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:44 pm

107 - i dont think we can afford a 4-3-4, we havent got enough strikers. and to be honest i dont want to see wenger playing around with the formation too much, either 4-4-2 or 4-5-1. tinkering only buggers around with a team’s cohesiveness.

  • 111. Dilly  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:44 pm

I think wing backs is the way to go with a playmaker

  • 112. Danish Gooner  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:48 pm

  • 115. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:54 pm

but away at Ewood park youll begin to realize the shit

quick question - if we win the game at Ewood park - does that mean you are talking complete bullshit?

    cheers

  • 116. Columbo M  |  August 7th, 2007 at 12:59 pm

“Cannot remember AdeTool doing anything vs the spuds”

Besides scoring twice in the league against them last season. Twat.

  • 117. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:00 pm

BlogHead - do you think that Malbranque will start for spurs this season?

I.e. will he be a regular starter or a sub?

    Cheers

  • 118. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:01 pm

  • 121. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:04 pm

    TopCat,

Yeah I think he will start unles we sign someone who can play on the left in the next week.
He’s a usefull player malbranque but he hasn’t really been as good as I thought he was going to be.

Saying that he was our best player against torino on sat

  • 122. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:06 pm

cheers bloggie - so for 6.5m is he worth sticking into my fantasy footie team????

  • 123. ron  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:06 pm

    im back now.

  • 124. ron  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:07 pm

TC - yeah defo put him in ;)

  • 125. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:07 pm

he was injured for a lot of last season - but is a class player - used to score bucketloads of points at Fulham - since he went spurs his points fell dramatically.

  • 126. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:07 pm

    cheers ron.

but the question is to bloggie.

my midfield is so great I can have malbranque and still will clean up

  • 127. TopPig  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:08 pm

EPL is not some ‘friendlies’. This team may not hold

  • 128. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:08 pm

    TopCat,

I dont know mate, Alot of fans think he’s useless. He’s a bit like our version of Hleb.

    You could probably do better

  • 129. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:09 pm

TopPig - are you mocking me?

  • 130. T-Bone and pepper sauce  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:10 pm

    115 Top Cat.

Question for you too then: if you go to Specsavers and get your vision back in your left eye…will it mean you might also stop being such a one-eyed twat? Cheers.

ron is back to pollute the blog. Happy days. How’s your mum ron?

  • 131. T-Bone and pepper sauce  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:11 pm

What is an E’EPL’? I fucking hate ‘global’ Arsenal followers….

  • 132. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:15 pm

    Theres only one premier league

  • 133. Columbo M  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:16 pm

T-bone - do you look at everything in such a negative light, so that when things turn out better than expected, it’s all the more enjoyable? I can find no other reason for your entirely pessimistic stance. You’re as ‘one-eyed’ in the other direction as TC is on the positive side.

  • 134. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:17 pm

    T-Bone.

    One eyed twat? Cheers.

All Im asking is if you would change your opinion if we won against sparta and blackburn.

If we lost to sparta and blackburn I would def be a lot less optimistic - thats a balanced opinion I feel

Its funny, how the people who call me rose tinted are usually the ones who are 100% sure we will do really badly this season - but they are more biased than I am as while I believe in this team - I don’t pretend that our success this season is guarenteed - whereas you seem to 100% certain we will fail.

You want me to make you an appointment at spec savers while Im there?

    ; )

  • 135. ron  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:17 pm

    - -

you hate global arsenal supporters? Hold up - are you really saying that you hate people that are not from England who support the same team as you?

    Friendly chap arn’t you!

  • 137. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:19 pm

If you gave T-bone a grand he would moan that it was in the wrong denominations and wouldn’t fit in his pocket.

  • 138. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:19 pm

A One-eyed monster lives in my pants

  • 139. Al  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:19 pm

I looked up Royston Drenthe on Wikipedia and he can’t score goals. We don’t need another attacking midfielder who can’t score goals.

  • 140. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:21 pm

That settles it in the Youtube vs Wikipedia debate

Royston Drenthe is great when watching clips on YouTube, but rubbish when you look at his stats on Wikipedia.

    Next up - R.Quaresma.

  • 141. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:23 pm

Could you do me a favour and look me up to see if i can score goals

  • 143. T-Bone and pepper sauce  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:25 pm

TopCat: question for you too then. If Arsenal once again finish more than 6 pts off the top and RVP gets tapped-up along with Cesc who is leaving next summer to Barca….what will you say then? Would you finally admit it has gotten rotten? Yes I am very negative. Where’s the point in beating the drum? Been doing it for the past 3 years only to end up feeling and looking like a lemon. Time for a bit of pessimism. And yes, I fucking hate tossers who call it the ‘EPL’. Nouveau-twats who never heard of football pre-Murdoch. Nonsense. They are ‘follower’s as someone said yesterday. Not fans. Never fucking heard of the North bank now have they let alone terraces.

Columbo: if anyone’s a twat then it’s you lad. You think AdeTool scoring a shit header at White Harte lane after missing a hatful of chances for a hat-trick…and scoring a simple one-on-one after being put through and straying the wrong side of off-side (had no need to be) makes AdeTool class? Ha ha ha. I await with glee another season with 6 league goals from him. Love to see what you’ll say then.

    - -

Hi T-Bone - Good question. I have said this a few times, but am happy to repeat - I am optimistic for the new season, I really am - I have supported Arsenal for almost 20 years and seen a lot of changes at the club during that time.

While I am grateful for Arsene Wenger, it is Arsenal that I support and so for Wenger to stay at Arsenal he must make the team competitive again.

Due to his vision in the past and the way he has revolutionised the club (and before you point to the last 2 seasons - rewatch the calibre of football played in the last 10 seasons) - I am prepared accept that the last 2 seasons have been failures, but that they were due to the transitional process - this season is about results - if we cannot finish within 6 points of the leaders, then we are not progressing and I am sure Wenger would be the first to say this.

The reason I get so angry with your comments is that Wenger bleeds for this club and has done so for the last 10 years - I don’t know of any manager at any club that has put in as much work as Wenger has for Arsenal.

And people write about him as if he is some chump, who has just finished his manager training and fluked a carling cup or something.

IF WE FINISH 5TH, 10, 15 OR 20 POINTS OFF THE LEADERS - I WILL DEMAND ANSWERS FROM THE CLUB.

But, it is my belief that if we do not win the league this season, we will finish a lot closer to the actual winners than we have in the last 2 seasons.

So far from being blinded - I am merely like most - optimistic for the future - but also demand more from the team that we have seen in the last 2 seasons….

agree with some of your points, when we end up with f all at the end of the year do you think that someone will actually have to carry the can or will our expectations be so low by then we will just accept it?

  • 158. Blog Head  |  August 7th, 2007 at 1:39 pm

    Columbo,

Well Gilberto Silva has made me aModerator to block out the childish and abusive comments and I;’m soory Mavis but in your post you used the word ‘bum’ five times and the word ‘Vagina’ seven times. So I was forced to remove it from the comments section.

And let that be a lesson to the rest of you.

154 you mug-tool. What is a ‘Respectisicm’ and why the constant OBSESSION with Respects on this board? Toss-bag. Fyi if you actually ever HEARD anything RH says on this board you would know that i class him in along with the rose-tinted brigade. Yes he writes some top posts but he seems to have a problem with criticizing Wenger while i do not. As for AdeTool there’s about 200 different ppl who’ve used that term on this board. And if you scan RH’s posts you’ll findhe likes to call him ‘AkinB’. Get your facts straight wank-bag. First I was Gelbs…then I was RH. Next up: i am in fact MARCUS in disguise eh? This blog gone down the pan.

Didn’t know u could. but answer me this: do you not think it is about high time that AW mas MADE to feed these kiddies something with more protein than Hribo strawbs, cocoa pops and Cheesy twists and cheetohs? Why the curly-wurlies? When are these kiddies gonna get some fucking protein like a paelle? No wonder TH14 fobbed off to sunny Espana to eat king prawn paella. lol
And one more thing. Why is Dick (aka Willy) OBSESSED with me? Why does he think i am Martin Barney? harbouring some gay grudge eh?

serious though TopCat some ppl simply cannot see the wodds from the trees. Do you NOT agree with me that AW is playing with the future of this club by not signing anybody for left-wing? and do you NOT think that ppl who call it an ‘EPL’ (whatever the fuck that is) are mug-ends? they AIN’T Arse fans like you and i mate. Marcus and the other Alias’s that you use make you a fucking pussy… …you an Arsenal fan get over yourself

I will be at Blackburn away tossface, perhaps we can exchange words face 2 face

you’ll probably be watching on telly though

As for TC you are exactly right… ..you have to be behind the club and Wenger, look where we were pre-wenger playing football the whole league laughed at (although it was great pissing everyone off with stubborn Adams, Keown, Bould, Dixon, Winterburn and Seaman.

I think one has to be behind the squad/manager (board are cunts but Kronke’s worse) at least until we know how things will pan out.

    Come on the Arse

  • 188. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 2:05 pm

  • 192. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 2:11 pm

What happens if on Sunday we play fantastic flowing football, miss 20 chances, concede a freak breakaway goal and manage to salvage a point in the last 5 minutes?

Not sure I could take it.

  • 193. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 2:15 pm

192 i would probably try and kick my own head in.

  • 194. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 2:16 pm

    That would be entertaining…

  • 195. Serge  |  August 7th, 2007 at 2:19 pm

    Hleb behind RVP on Sun?
    With this behind them:
    Rosicky-Fabregas-Flamini-Eboue
Its possible you may have to kick your head in. Where are the goals gonna come from?

  • 196. TopCat  |  August 7th, 2007 at 2:20 pm

    192.

Then we meet somewhere secret and draw up plans to asassinate Ronaldo, Rooney, Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Essien, Gerrard and any other threat to our title bid.

And the entire tottenham squad just for a laugh.

  • 197. bob  |  August 7th, 2007 at 2:22 pm

  • 259. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 3:12 pm

233 - fletch its true, but tbh, how can we talk about football ALL day long, especially as there is no news and no actual football to talk about. sometimes a bit of internet bullying is all part of growing up. i dont actually reckon kids are going to get beat in playgrounds anymore, people are just going to send pictures of them cut and pasted onto farmyard animal’s bodies. eg “damn you sheep boy i think you have foot and mouth, time for the ovens for you…” and the like. woah, let the good times roll!

seriously though, have you been on a fulham or a wigan board - what the hell do they talk about!!!! or even a man utd board? i bet they are just going, we’re going to win, we’re so happy, look at all our new signings, we are so great, we are so great!! that’s got to be ridiculously boring! at least we, as arsenal fans, have something juicy to moan or hypothesise about!

  • 279. TyroneMearsforEngland  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:24 pm

I haven’t been this excited since Branko Strupar came back from sustaining that IQ injury with Connect 4. All we lacked last season were a few players in every position, and the gaffer Billy ‘Who?’ Davies has gone out this summer and raised the bar. Signing Robert Earnshaw was a masterstroke, in this day and age of spiralling transfer fees, a performance related sum of £8.5m is a snip.
I’m just glad I got my season ticket in early. I was lucky, I happened to be stumbling out of the pub and found a fiver in my back pocket, and the box office was right next door! They said I could sit next to Andy Griifin on the bench for the whole season with that. Bargain!
Plus, if we manage to lose enough games by February, we could be relegated, and I hear the air fares are cheaper in early Spring. The missus has promised me a long break in Tenerife with all her special trimmings if we don’t have to talk about football all season, so, result!

279 hmmm I metioned it would be funny to write about Derby… …funny but unorigonal

  • 282. Dick (aka Willy)  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:32 pm

Drenthe would be good - but I doubt he’s coming.

We should fight Madrid for Nasri before it becomes a done deal.

Nasri along with Cesc, Diaby and Denilson would pretty much give us one of the most promising midfields in the world.

    NASRI, NOW!

  • 283. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:33 pm

whats the deal with nasri?! i dont know anything about him and dont want to raise my hopes by looking on youtube. any info would be handy.

  • 284. G8  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:36 pm

Was in Paris yesterday and chatting with some froggies who were saying he is the dog’s nutz… …unfortunately they also rated Malouda

  • 285. Dick (aka Willy)  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:38 pm

    UPMYANTICS —

look on youtube. Raise your hopes. You won’t be disappointed.

Many players in the French squad have been labelled the ‘new zidane’ over the years. Yet Nasri is the one player who can live up to the tag. He plays either wide on the wing or through the middle (like Zidane), was born in Marseilles (like Zidane) and is of Algerian descent but has chosen to play for France (like Zidane!).

    Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFZDdBYtSoI

  • 286. Dick (aka Willy)  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:39 pm

    G8 —

I rate Malouda! Honestly, I think we should have signed him. Just what we need - a winger who can forwards and backwards with pace, guile and determination. He’s also got a decent shot on him - scores a fair few from long-range. But you’re right, nowhere near as good as Nasri.

  • 287. Word -is-Bond  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:45 pm

I bought Nasri in pro evo soccer once - he was shit

  • 288. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:48 pm

oh fuck i just creamed in my pants. that was actually a really well put together video. he seems pretty good. my only hope that we might sign him has to be the fact that he’s french.

  • 289. gazzap  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:50 pm

I think wenger missed the boat on Nasri and he must be kicking himself. its not like wenger to miss a young french talent. now of coruse he is worth multi millions and wenger wont touch any player who costs that much and wont go head to head with Real.

  • 290. UpMyAntics  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:54 pm

i hope he does, just to fuck them off and bump up his price. and u never know the kid might not like the sidelines of real…

  • 291. G8  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:55 pm

Dick (aka Willy) The thing with Malouda was at the WC, I thought he was Kaka (shit not the brazillian), also Abidal who I still think is shit… …but even for youtube highlights the kid has silky skilz that look more Ronaldinho/Bergkamp than Zizou

I think we just need to sign someone to apease me!

    Robbie Savage come on

  • 292. Wenger's Army  |  August 7th, 2007 at 4:55 pm

  • 299. Gilles  |  August 7th, 2007 at 6:04 pm

So we’re allowed to compliment Nasri now? The last time I checked everyone thought he was overrated but that was because people wanted him at Arsenal. But now he looks likely to go elsewhere, it’s automatically a huge loss?

    Stupid cunts.

Dam….Lemme tell you a little sthg about the incompetence of Arsene Wenger. Valeri Bojinov has just been signed for Manchester City. Bojinov is way way better than Akinbayor, Dog-dudu or Bendtner. Know how much he cost? Jack shit is what. Did we get him? Did we fuck. What I love is the way some fans always go ‘is the player better than what we got? No, he’s not good enough for Arse’. Strange. Coulda sworn Jeremie Aliadiere was an Arsenal player for nine years. Or is there nothing better than Song out there? MGP clause in his contract? 8 mil. Drenthe’s asking price? 10 mil. How much was the magnificent Di Maria? 4 million quid. Even Benfica beat us to that. Babel went to Pool. I remember some idiots coming out with bullshit like ‘Ribery isn’t good enough for us’ and ‘Malouda isn’t good enough for us’ when they signed for our rivals. How fucking silly do these people seem now eh? Couldn’t even fucking get Di Maris. This board is taking the fans for a ride before they sell out to Kroenke in a year’s time anyway yet here you are some of you, lapping it all up hook, line and sinker. Pathetic and disgusting. The funniest thing is when players like Malouda, Ribery and Nani sign for our rivals, apologists like to come out with ‘Arsene was never in for him anyway’. Ha ha ha. Yeah course. He was too busy sealing deals for Nordveit, trying to sign Gouffran and getting new contracts for Akinbayor, Song and the useless Pleb.
The shit will surely hit the fan this season and this team will surely fail. Don’t want it to of course but it just will. Gutted we missed out on Di Maria, missed out on Ribery and missed out on Malouda. But hey. Malouda is ‘not good enough’ to join Arse is he now? Nah. Glass-ankled Rosicky is better innit? Lmfao. How ridiculous. But Malouda is good enough to join back-to-back PL winners and runners-up Chavs while Ribery is good enough for 4-time European champs Bayern. And I thought Spud fans were deluded. This takes the piss though..

Anybody thin that that Arseblog guy is a pompuos idiot? He never goes to matches, never even watches them( like on saturday against ajax) and today I just read he didn’t even know we’re playing on sunday. Yet he patronizes people by taking authoritative stances on issues arsenal. If you don’t even watch matches on telly what right have you yo say sign so and so etc. Who the hell is this guy? What’s the difference between him and that Chennai guy> Jeez

  • 305. Fake Brazilian  |  August 7th, 2007 at 6:57 pm

Mate who the fuck is this Chennai guy you’re on about? And so I see Gunnerblood that at least you agree: people who don’t go matches are NOT ’supporter’. They are ‘followers’. Arseblogger is still a dam sight more knowledgable than you are I reckonn. He’s met PHW and interviewed him, knows Amy Lawrence and has contacts inside the club that you’ll never have mate no offence. So in a way yeah he’s patronizing. But he’s got shit to back it up with. While you only have a wank-mag and a kleenex tissue behind a PC.

  • 306. Respect Eduardo  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:00 pm

Fake Bra, i agree with u to a certain extent that we have missed out some players that comes with a price tag we can afford. I am frustrated with Wenger inactivity in the transfer market, and with the departure of big names like Henry and Freddie, Wenger look the least worried to be bother about replacing them. He always seem confident with his present squad, which is always good. But from a realistic point of view, all the Arsenal faithful will know this current team is slighly fragile and not possible to win the League. We can concentrate on the CL and FA Cup which are capable of winning with a slice of luck.
However, the team do have potential to surprise, and even to Arsenal Fans

  • 307. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:00 pm

    304,

    Arseblog is a fucking hero!

In fact he does go to some matches, but based formerly in Barcelona and now Dublin it ain’t that easy.

Met him twice - once in Paris for the CL final and once last year at the Emirates - brilliant bloke.

Don’t know why he didn’t catch the game on the box though - normally does.

  • 308. Gunnerblood  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:04 pm

    LOL wtg fake brazallian.

fyi he also met David O’leary blah blah blah. You sure are as retarded as your posts suggest lol

  • 309. Gunnerblood  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:06 pm

Well Fletch point taken. although I did a double take coz you didn’t have expletives in your post!

  • 310. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:11 pm

    OK Gunnerblood!

Actually he also has the one of the oldest Arsenal blogs with postings every day since 2002.

Try listening to one of his podcasts on a Friday - they crack me up!

  • 311. Respect Eduardo  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:12 pm

Why bother abt Arseblog guy, he ain’t tht much of our concern.
Our concern should be on the lack of activity. I suppose Wenger is too busy to strike any new deals with players he like cause since Dein gone, Wenger has to do most of the work which he has said b4 he hated contractual works which is draggy and complicated. And with the new season starting this Sunday, he has even less time to get signing done. I am beggining to accept the current squad we have cause there are little chances we will be signing anyone as the clock ticks.

  • 312. Fake Brazilian  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:19 pm

Wow Gunnerblood. Don’t even know the meaning of an expletive now do we? If anyone’s retarded then it’s that whore that gave birth to you you mug. ‘Wank-mag’ is not an ‘expletive in the UK. But seeing as you’re prolly holed up in some shit-hole dive in outer Mongolia or somewhere and can barely speak fucking English then I doubt you’d know that. Find it rich that some internet loser sees it fit to slate Aresblogger. Tell me again: who the fuck are you mate? (now THAT was an expletive).
Met Arseblogger in CL final in a boozer and he’s a top lad. More than can be said for the faceless internet blogger ‘Gunnerblood’ huh?

  • 313. Respect Eduardo  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:22 pm

Anyway Drenthe is another midget and certain our team have enough of those, he is certain not a viable choice for us

  • 314. vlcgooner  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:37 pm

I can’t say that I am an authority on Nasri, but based on the YouTube clip I have to say that he looks a lot like Hleb! Another left-footer who would rather not play or stay on the left. Why is it that players we don’t have always seem better than those we do have? What we need it is a left-footed winger. The rest is all just fantasy-manager stuff. fuck reyes for fucking Wenger he fit the bill. I think Wenger was counting on him, but it is time to get over that and replace him.

  • 315. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:42 pm

Yes Reyes fucked us up big time - Spanish pikey

  • 316. Fake Brazilian  |  August 7th, 2007 at 7:42 pm

Agrred VLC Reyes really is a cunt. He fucked us mega. Fit the bill to a tee, left-footed n all…

  • 319. Gunner8  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:08 pm

arseblog is a fucking twat too, fuck his bullshit

  • 320. Gunner8  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:11 pm

give fletch a medal for meeting arseblog, i mean how the fuck do you meet someone twice out of the blue at matches, i think your telling a few porkies fletch unless of course your stalking the cunt in which case that makes you a twat too

  • 321. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:20 pm

    320,

Both meetings were prearranged - he normally says when he is going to a match (on his blog) and what pub he will be in prior to the game. That way his readers can go and meet him and buy him a drink - good business model!

  • 322. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:24 pm

No need to call me a twat Gunner8

  • 323. berry  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:30 pm

  • 324. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:32 pm

My nan would look good on you tube - but I’ll take a look.

  • 326. berry  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:40 pm

wenger wanted him bfore hes a good player fuck knows why he cant get a start at newcastle ive always said he was a good player

  • 327. Fletch  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:46 pm

Yeah he does look good on the left - never really noticed him before to be honest. He’d be quite cheap too i’d imagine

  • 328. berry  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:53 pm

they dont rate him there they have duff in that position but they would sell him cheap i think and his young he would really fit in at arsenal and can speak french and newcastle want money to buy dont they

  • 329. Jerry  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:53 pm

So here we are again, days before the season starts and still no proper winger, as if 1 player alone would make the difference anyhow. Another close season where we’ve just plugged a few spaces with no real effort to significantly improve the team. Another transfer window passes us by whilst all around have strenghened, not just the teams we’re meant to be reigning in but also some of the UEFA chasing teams.

There’s no question we’ve some of the best young players around, also no doubt last years overall performances will be improved on this time either. The problem is that other clubs have improved by at least the same margin and in some cases better still so the gap shortens. Our boys are now being chased by several clubs with money and ambition, which makes the assumption of a Champions Lge place harder to justify let alone guarantee.

This is the Arsenal for God’s sake, our CL status should never be in such jeopardy, but here we are on the eve of another season where a good 3rd place is more likely than a disastrous 5th but by no means certain and that can’t be right!

Something is obviously wrong here, not even my own “rose tinter’s” can hide the fact that whilst allowing for a better team spirit this year, we simply don’t have enough quality to compete at the highest level consistently. I don’t like saying that but I’m afraid it’s true. This year should’ve been different as sufficient resources are there, surely we have enough money to make a difference without having to go mad. If not, why the fuck not?

Kroenke has obviously not helped matters, but if the board are as committed as they say then they’ve shown little sign of it other than keeping hold of their valuable shares. Their’s no doubt Dein’s enthusiasm and influence are being missed at a time when it matters most. I don’t like the idea of a takeover but then I also object to the way our club is being aloud to slip further behind the elite, the elite we should be a part of. To choose not to go for “super class” is one thing, to no longer be an attractive proposition to those players (like Sp*rs) would be a travisty. Another scrap for 4th place is therefore unacceptable.

  • 330. berry  |  August 7th, 2007 at 9:58 pm

YOU TUBE CHARLES N ZOGBIA left winger have a look i think we should try to sign him dot judge until u have a look

  • 331. kingsley  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:13 pm

i would settle for n’zogbia as a last resort. i cant beleive how quiet it is on the transfer front, we’re just not getting linked with anyone, most of the names mentioned have just come from fans on blogs like this. i just have this nasty feeling we wont get anyone

  • 332. kingsley  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:25 pm

  • 337. Rabbi Savvy  |  August 7th, 2007 at 10:48 pm

fan and follower.. what crap? I will be damned if I spare an extra second thinking whether I will be called fan or follower. i watch Arsenal on TV at no point of time being within 2000 miles of Highbury or the grove. Does it make me any less of a human being, it does not? the difference between the ones who watch the match (in stadium) and those who do not only comes only in case of ticket prices. Going to the stadium DOES NOT MAKE YOUR ARGUMENTS ANY BETTER.

People miss players all the time. For the record, Arsene missed out on Cech and Ronaldinho and Makelele and Eto’o and etc etc. He missed out on Ronaldinho even before we went unbeaten. nobody was worried about missing out on him then because we had Vieira, henry or Lehmann.

Malouda had one stormer and he is very good. What if he turns out to be another Sheva or SwP. Or for that matter robben? There is an obvious weakness in the side and the left winger is a necessity. If Wenger can fill that in reasonably I would be happy. As for Di Maria, people were as expected about Diego when he went to Portugal or similarly for Walcott. Di Maria would have been another one in the process, not a finished product. I hope Wenger fills it in. I liked the look of Drenthe. He has the physical strength. Hope Wenger signed someone on left but there is no use counting whom we missed out on. Even when Reyes came in he was a big name and even succeeded in teh start. a big name does not guarantee you anything. Hope Wenger can get the correct guy who will fit in and deliver the goods. Yes we do need a left winger.

  • 339. ey  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:03 pm

Who ever said that Bojinov is better than any strikers we have is clearly a mug who has never seen the bloke play. he’s a waste of talent, a tempermental diva who can’t arse himself to try.

Morst gamst Pederson - errrr, you want a “goal scoring” winger right? Well, short of looking up on wikipedia, do you know where most of his goals come from? Free kicks. Who takes our free kicks? RvP, Cesc, Rosicky. So MGP wouldn’t score much.

Then…he twats who chose a new name every day to write the same guff abut how “we iz shit”. It’s quite obvious what you are doing. So stop, b/c it’s pathetic.

  • 344. Fake Brazilian  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:28 pm

The thing is, I wondder what the fuck is the point of the transfer window. Arse only use it to sell their best players and replace them with inferior toss. Look at the past 3 seasons whats gone. Pires…Henry…Vieira. And what has come in? Bar Cesc who is off next summer, nobody incredible has come in. Now the reality of the fact is that AW and the board split the blame. Board takes 65% and AW 35%. We have yet again failed to strengthen. We have plugged gaps. United finished 21 pts ahead of us, kept all their best players and added new ones. Ditto Pool. Us? Joke. Even spuds made a statement in the transfer market. If you look around at every big team in Europe they ALL use the transfer window to ADD quality. Few days to go till kick-off and nothing has come in. Unbelievable. AW takes blame cos this summer the money excuses have gone out the window. Funds is there but AW refuses to accept that super-class players cost super-class dollar. Some fans talk as if we have the divine right to finish in the Top 4 forgetting that spuds have made better signings than us. Some fools keep talking about how ‘we would have improved with a year extra experience’. Maybe. How about Pool and United then? And Chav? Or is we the only ones who got this magic ‘experience’? Whatever.
Fact is AW has had money and has sat idly by and watched Ribery, Malouda and Nasri pass us by. Never bid for Sneijder, never bid for Drenthe. Never even tried. This is ridiculous. The board talk a good game about Kroenke but in the end they’ll sell out like the cunts they are anyway. I don’t want cunt Kroenke near my club but what is this board doing? Do you realize that it’s gotten to the stage now that most super-class players would literally scoff at the prospect of joining Arsenal? Most players now choose Pool, United and Chav (for cash) before us. In fact, Di Maria chose Benfica over us. Oh but I sppose Arsene ‘was never in for him’ as what AW wants, AW gets eh? Yeah. Should explain how we ended up with Pleb, Sende-toss, Flamini, Pleb and SONG.
Like I said earlier. The shit will unravel this season. Some of you sound even more deluded than the spuds you should listen to yourselves….

ey I am laughing so hard am literally crying. So. ey thinks MGP wouldn’t have a chance at taking free-kicks at Arsenal cos, ‘Cesc and Rosicky take free-kicks’ for us? LOOOOOOOOOL.

Total number of free-kicks scored by Cesc & Rosicky during their WHOLE Arsenal careers = 0

Total number scored by MGP last season alone= More than 3.

Yeah sure he wouldn’t have a prayer lol….

I would rather have the team make a statement on the field than in the transfer market. There are deficiencies in the team: some of it tactical. Some improvement on this front will go a long way in improving results. Defend better, move the ball faster, use wings to stretch opposition, all can be improved. Then there are things like taking the chances we create and that would be it. I remember ManU going through similar missed chances phenomena year before last and last season they started taking it. Hope we can do the same.

i reckon AW would have signed ribery if possible. I cant think why we didnt if it wasnt the dollars required

  • 356. Jerry  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:51 pm

Ribery looked to be the best option but he’s gone and so have other good wingers. I’d be surprised if we didn’t have our priority signing already in camp so I hope we don’t go signing second best last minute. There’s not many renowned wingers left and Arsene’s more likely to go for value so if we do buy it’s more likely to be a Pederson than a Quaresma I think, he’s had his fingers burnt with Reyes. Not that Pederson would be a bad move, infact he’d do nicely, not quite the promised “super” but a better bet than some of the continental options and cheaper. He’s a 25yr old international that deserves better than Blackburn and for around £6M he could be that winger we need.

  • 357. davey b  |  August 7th, 2007 at 11:59 pm

yeah true ,shame about ribery i saw him play for the france u21 team and he was easily the best player on the pitch england could’nt deal with him ,there were 2 centre back’s that played for france called ronald zaubar i think and i cant remember the other one’s name but they looked awesome as a partnership

  • 358. Fake Brazilian  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:01 am

Rabbi Savvy you typical of the wank I’ve been reading on this blog all summer. Basically to sum up: all we need to do is score more (’take our chances’) and concede less (’start concentrating on set-pieces). Wow…this is real genius! So let’s recap. If Arsenal could only start scoring more…and conceding less….We will be champions? Wow was as simple as that! Will somebody tell Arsene please? And who knows eh? Maybe if Wigan and Derby would begin to ’score more and concede less’ they may be in with a shout for the double! Ha ha what a load of toss. Rose-tinted bollocks it all is….sad….

  • 360. Fake Brazilian  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:12 am

I remember when some morons like Good To be a Gorilla were saying that Ribery ‘wasn’t good enough’ for us. Lol. Way to go.
Here is a list of players in order of priority that we could AFFORD and that are available. I’ll do it in order of who I think we should sign. Players are out there. It’s just that our board is inompetent greedy cunts and our boss lives in the 1920s.
    1) Drenthe
    2) Huntelaar
    3) Snejder
    4) Van Der Vaart
    5) MGP
    6) Mancini
    7) Quaresma
    8) Nasri (though time-warp Wenger missed the boat i think)
    9) Diego
    10) Marquez

Drenthe, Huntelaar and Snejder wold be perfect. All internationals, none of them are ‘Galacticos’ and all are young and hungry so wouldn’t affect team spirit. But it’s ok. As we are going to sign ‘Juan Thierry Mahmadou Babangida-Olanabju-Odomwingeowusu Ayegbeni-Abeyie’. He is the latest childhood phenomenon at only 4 years old and is actually born in Spain but has French parents and has been growing up in an African orphonage for the past 15 years. Nobody’s ever heard of him but once he gets that ‘magic extra year of experience’ in 25 years’ time then AFC will sweep all before them. Never mind that in between them we will fall so far down even Phil Neville would refuse to join us. And btw.,…where is this ‘magic extra revenue to compete with the big boys’ we were supposed to be seeing from Emirates? Seems we’re poorer than we have ever been apparently lol! Prolly all gone towards PHW and Fizmans pockets the tight-fisted greedy filthy capitalist cunts.

But seeing as you’re prolly holed up in some shit-hole dive in outer Mongolia or somewhere and can barely speak fucking English then I doubt you’d know that.
    _______________________________________

Fake Brazilian, remember the saying, “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”? Semi-literate types such as yourself shouldn’t slate others for poor English. It just ain’t right.

And do you really think there’s such a thriving Arsenal community in outer Mongolia that 95% of foreign posters come from there? Buy an atlas and come up with a few other places.

  • 365. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:24 am

Hey Gelbs/Fake Brazilian/Jerry, how many of those on your list have you actually seen play? And Pro Evo doesn’t count.

  • 366. davey b  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:28 am

    1) Drenthe
    2) Huntelaar
    5) MGP

i would like to have any of these three but drenthe is not gonna be coming to arsenal especially if arjen robben leave’s chelsea ,huntelaar i’d like to seehim playing for arsenal a born finisher ,mgp make’s good sense cheap has a good atitude an all round decent player

diego is another AMF by the way

  • 367. davey b  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:33 am

i saw hunterlaar play for herenveen against newcastle in the UEFA cup a few year’s ago and he looked absolute quality then he had been plucked from a 2/3 division side or something

  • 368. davey b  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:37 am

i know it’s not the most exciting suggestion but as a cheap option for a winger what baout rothen how played against us for psg he has alway’s had superb delivery from his day’s with monaco with evra ,guily, morientes etc

  • 369. Fake Brazilian  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:39 am

    To answer a few things;
    1) WEG please shut the fuck up. No one gives a fuck about your fucking bullshit posts always talking about your dad’s knob. If you love your own cock so muc do us a favour then lad and go and stick it deep inside your mum. (sure you done this before though innit you inbred cunt?)
    2) daveyb: What you said about Van der Vaart having a ’snail’s pace’. Strange that as I remember him making mugs of our defence with a screamer at the Emirates when Hamburg came to play. Was sitting bang behind the goal when he did that and trust me, that boy has acceleration. You also forget that he is better at scoring goals than ANY of our current goal-shy midfielders.
    3) Snejder? Easy. Drop Hleb.
    4) ey.Drenthe ain’t all that on Pro Evo so your point’s wank.
I seen them all play and saw Drenthe against Pool the other night. certainly did more against them than I ever seen Cesc or Hleb ever do….Better attacker than ALL our midfield. So overrated by our fans our midfield is. How many league goals did Rosicky, Hleb and Cesc get between them? (these are our attacking midfielders. Gilberto is anchorman). Now compare their combined total to what Ronaldo got for the Manc scum and there’s your answer.

  • 370. Fake Brazilian  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:43 am

daveyb I agree with ome of what u say. But the simple fact is, this is the weakest Arsenal squad I have seen in ten years. Simply is. Could not name you a worse back 4 in 10 years, a worse collective midfield at scoring goals in 10 years, and a worse striker force in 10 years. Individual quality? Number of match-winner? One. Not good enough.Rothen? Now THAT is desperate. Huntelaaar is absolute quality and Ajax already said any offers of £10 and above will get listened to. We have money, need a quality RELIABLE goalscorer (Huntelaar also smacks it for Holland too) but yet AW will not bid for him while we still have a chance of getting him and will instead wait for Pool or another rival to sign him up instead. End up with that shit Akinbayor up front. What a crock.

  • 371. Rabbi Savvy  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:45 am

    @Fake Bra…

So let’s recap. If Arsenal could only start scoring more…and conceding less….We will be champions? Wow was as simple as that! Will somebody tell Arsene please?
    ============================

If you read then u will find that I wrote that ManU were missing chances and they started taking chances the next season. The same fellas: rooney-ronaldo started putting in those chances that they were missing earlier. And that is what I meant. if u can understand this bit good, else continue spewing your stuff all over.

  • 372. vlcgooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:46 am

    Fake Brazillian,
I realize that you are upset about the 21 point spread last year and agree that a couple of new players are in order. But do you realize that the spread can be chalked up to 3 issues. First, we dominated every single game bar one (liverpool late in the year) yet couldn’t take advantage of it. I think the team will improve there. Two, we got killed on set pieces. I am not sure that has been fixed. Three, RVP, TH and Gallas were all injured for long parts of the season. How many injuries did Man U have? They were incredibly lucky in that respect. Four, the young players are all older and seem really hungry. So all in all, the situation isn’t nearly as bad as the 21 points suggests. Stop dwelling on it, I say.

  • 373. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:47 am

    1) Vdv’s goal was very good, but it had nothing to do with his pace, just a very strong shot, so you are still a mug.
    2) So you’ve seen the boy play once? Oh, that surely means he’s good. Hey, Romendalh look top notch against us, didn’t he? Would you say that he’s good based on one showing. The entire South korea team looked good in the 2002 WC, are they all good? You have to have watched player 15+ times to judge how good they are. hence why i held my judgement, and still do, about Sagna and da Silva.

  • 374. davey b  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:48 am

bang behind the goal when he did that and trust me, that boy has acceleration.

just to illusrate what little you know about the player your commenting on ,mate try commenting on what you actually know about and stop chatting shit about thing’s you know nothing about

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW1122xjm64

trust me the boy’s got some acceleration lol,how can i trust you when you dont no anything about him lol

  • 375. vlcgooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:48 am

Oh. If Man U get Tevez, lets ask them for Saha. Of course they will not sell, but he seems like the perfect Arsenal player…

  • 376. Rabbi Savvy  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:49 am

Maybe if Wigan and Derby would begin to ’score more and concede less’ they may be in with a shout for the double! Ha ha what a load of toss. Rose-tinted bollocks it all is….sad….

    ===================================================

again: here is the logic: We created tonnes of chances but did not take them. Wigan and Derby did not create as many chances. got it? Frankly, if u can’t understand this much English you should not be talkign about Mongolia.

and as for rose tinted bollocks i care a f**k if you have those. Hopefully yours do not have the proverbial thorns adoring it.. poor thongs!!

  • 377. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:51 am

vfsgooner, we also deserved no points from Fulham away (the team should have been forced to run from Craven Cottage back to Coney for that).

    FB,

I don’t get your point about “our greedy board”. You do realize that they earn a fixed amount each year. Dein earned the most at 800k. All of the money goes either to transfers or to stadium debt. But you live i another wolrd, so…

PS, so you’ve only seen Drenthe? How many times Nasri (who is good from what i READ, but also apparently the same player as Cesc, but younger). Or same for Quaresma, Diego (ACM), VdV (no, not twice when he played against us, have you seen him in grmany), or Mancini?

  • 378. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 12:54 am

If MU try to partner Tevez and Rooney and leave out saha…hmm, not smart, imo. Two ugly, pissed off, talented cunts with little pace playing up front…

Saha’s game is such he pulls defenders around and stretches the game with his mobility and the threat of his pace, this leaves Rooney with his combination of strength and pace and Ronaldo with his pace and skill in more one-on-one situations than previously with van Nistelrooy. His mobility and running also plays to the strengths of his team with Carrick, Scholes, Giggs and even Rooney often looking for a player breaking into space with a pass.

Rooney needs a acy player to play with im, otherwise the signing is pure galticos.

And the way you can use “please” and “shut the fuck up” in the same sentence and have it hold together in such a delightfully pithy way.

I am puzzled at how, being a “cunt”, I can “stick it deep inside” my dear mama. I would’ve thought it was anatomically impossible. Then again, I’m not a genius who can come up with an alternate Arsenal transfer policy through newsnow links. Please enlighten.

  • 383. Fake Brazilian  |  August 8th, 2007 at 1:09 am

Yes I am fucking speqing about the 21 pts from last season VLC Gooner you got that dam skimpy. Mind you mate I’ll tell you whats pissed me off even more than that. Coming 24 pts behind the season before that and having to rely on a last-day fluke to get into the CL. Also I am getting a little fed up of morons like Rabbi going on about ‘Oh look United started taking their chances’. I will repeat this one final time. United got better because, their players are of genuine quality. They did not sit around and sign kids and nobodies from fake leagues. They went out and signed a proven PL performer in Carrick. They had Ronaldo who is far far superior to anything we have going forward in midfield. Rooney missing chances is less of a problem than Akinbayor as Rooney is genuine quality and you know he can win you a match in the blink of an eye. Ferguson changed his tactics to spread goals round the team and spent £19 mil on a top player in the transfer window. United also kept all their best players and ditched the deadwood. Compare this to Wenger and this board. Song, Akinbayor, Hoyte and Senderos are all still Arsenal players. Ribery missed. Malouda missed. Huntelaar unsigned. Glaring problems not addressed. Best player sold. Replaced by second-rate lighteight squad players at best. Net spend is still in MINUS. Money is there gathering dust. Henry wages off our wage bill, Ljungberg wages off our wage bill so huge money savings made. Say what you want about the ManUSA board but it’s shown more balls and ambition than this shower of shit. Don’t care if ppl don’t like me being rose-tinted I will continue to be the dissenting voice and will come back and remind u that I told you so when we are out the title tace by Xms once again. When you finish 21 pts behind the leaders, sell your best player (AGAIN), do not replace him with super-class quality….but then expect that ‘by scoring our chances and by defending better we will improve’ (wow Einstein)…and also expect that ‘a year’s extra magic experience’ of being tanked by Everton, Bolton and Sheffield will mean these kids will get better then its time to wake up.
Oh yeah and to all these mugs who go on about pace: is Cesc fast? No. Hleb is quite fast but how many goals does he score? Rosicky is fast but how often is he injured? When was the last time this team scored a swif counter-attacking lightning move? 2004 that’s when. So where’s the problem with having slow players when this team’s so fucking slow anyway. Anybody ever seen Senderos or Song play then?

ey mate the only mug I see here is you lad. Joker. And perhaps Daveyb who thinks our midfield who have no more than 5 golas between them in the league…are better than VDV. If anyone knows nothing about football its you mate. I ask you again: is Cesc fast? Muppet. And ey though you win ‘Muppet of the day’ for not understanding why our board is greedy. STILL don’t get it you thick plank? You will do after they sold out to Kroenke in a year’s time you nonce. Greedy because they persuade AW to try and spend no money and want to give a manager with a shocking record over 3 years a pay-rise, simply based on the fact that he makes them a little xtra cash. Easy enouh for ya? Anyway whre’s the point. Come December I will be proved right as the team’s sam old deficiencies come up:
    a) RVP gets injured
    b) Pleb refuses to shoot
    c) We dominate matches but cannot score
    d) We concede easily from several set-pieces
    e) Blaming injuries and the mooon for losing
    f) Out of everything by March again.

The only mugs round here will be the muppets who reckon this shit team that’s won jack fuck and does not even KNOW how to win….who will look fucking silly with egg on their face once we’re shafted again. Look forward to more wisdom from Rabbi Wankstain who will say: ‘Next season…even though we were 35 pts behind…next season the boys will have one extra year of experience from this season…and all they need to do is start scoring their chances and stop conceding. And we will be championa’. And ey will still look like an ugly wrinkly dick. Daveyb will still be gay.

ey: I watch Mancini regular. Go see for yourself what he did to Reveillere’s back in the CL and then name me ONE Arse player that could do that. You couldn’t. Nasri? Better than that lump of overhyped Barca player (he is leaving nxt summer deal with it) Cesc. Nasri? Again, I watch Ligue1 weekly. I so not READ like you (surprised you can read mind). Diego? Better than all our attacking midfielders.Ditto Sneijder. But I laugh. Cos some of youse reckon that no one is better than our bestest midfield in the world. Yeah. They were splendid last season…the one before too…how many pts again behind were we? If u lot think this team is going anywhere with this weak-arse squad that has not ADDED but has merely plugeed holes like WEG plugs his mum’s butt…dream on…

  • 389. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 1:26 am

Hey FB, you made a list of wingers we could get. Hence why I pointed out to you that Vdv is slow. Cause you kinda need to be fast to be a winger. Which is why Rosicky and Hleb aren’t good wingers. Pires wasn’t too fast, but Pires was a demi god.

  • 390. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 1:27 am

Mr ey please explain then why we have made a surplus on transfers this summer pls. Nice 1.

  • 393. Fake Brazilian  |  August 8th, 2007 at 1:30 am

Perhaps the money went on the super-class signings of Nordveit, SUNU and Kyle Bartley. Also…maybe the reason we had to get Heny off the wage bill was to give contract extensions to super-class toss like Hoyte, Akinbayor and Song. Lmfao. ‘Our money goes on transfers’. Never heard so much shit in my life. Fact is we don’t even HAVE a transfer fund since all our transfer activity never involves ADDING players but instead involves pluggins gaps.

    ==================================================
Genuine quality is in the results. Ronaldo was all tricks no end result guy who transformed in a year, He also came from a fake league (I will put Portuguese league below bundesliga).. and as for Carrick, I wish I could dig out what ManU fans had to say about this “proven EPL performer” when Fergie bought him. Ronaldo was not quite the performer season before that. As fro “genuine quality” if Cesc puts in the goal this season nobody would be asking if he is “genuine quality”. Genuine quality is in the results. Ronaldo did not have it the season before he had it last season. And I am hoping Cesc and others will show as much. We had a big name buy in Craptista last year and Reyes the year before. I have seen big names like SwP (proven PL performer) and Sheva make no impact and hence do not believe just buying big name will improve things.

I know Israel are shit at football (what with all the time they spend oppressing poor Arabs with apartheid)…but whisper it quietly: Cesc is and never will be anywhere near a successful goal-scorer like Ronaldo. No one in this team is. You care about RESULTS? Ok here they are: 12 pts behind, 24 pts behin, 21 pts behind. Your post = theoretical bullshit. No substance just pure fantasist bollocks. If if if….yeah yeah. Who said big-name buy? Big-name buys are Kaka, Eto’o, Ronaldinho, Tevez or Robinho.
I asked for Drenthe, Huntelaar, Mancini or MGP. If you think those players are ‘big-name signings’ it shows what a fuckwit you are with your footie knowledge. Mind you though. You also reckon the Croatian league is better than the Portugues league. Yes, you’re a tit.

    @Fake Bra…..

Ok get it now: Any damn signing and i mean any damn signing does not bring you any guarantee of fixing things. sheva could not bring goals. He was more of a goal scorer than Ronaldo and even bobby ever was. but his arrival did not bring goals. The goals came from the much maligned Drogba. The same guy whom everybody was calling a flop the year before.

Cesc is not a winger and he is never to be compared with Ronaldo. He is good at creating and his assists show for it. He needs to add goals to his tally.

and get your glasses.. i never said Croatian league was better than Portguese. go up and see: I wrote Bundesliga. That is where Hleb and Rosicky came from. Did you get it?

And since your grasp of language belies your nationality: My argument meant that the same set of players can improve a hell lot going from one season to the other. That was what ronaldo-Ronney etc was meant to mean. okay?

and as for Israel being shit in football.. take a look at this tabke

Ok so to recap your again stupid opinion:
    1) Basically since signings don’t guarantee success, better to stick with the shit that’s got you a 57-pt deficit in 3 years yes?
    2) So bacially you’ve done what every one-eyed brainless rose-tinted fuckwit does and used the example of Shevchenko. Where you shot yourself in the foot though motherfucker, is that Drogba actually cost 24 million quid and was a ’super-class’ signing. Moron. Again, you know nothing about football.
    3) Israel? a) If there was any justice there would be sanctions against those lot for their apartheid like there was vs South Africa. b) Israel have won….? c) Every dog has its day. Ask your mum.

Nice 1 wanker on making yourself even more of a cunt. P.S Israel better enjoy that while they can. I know they don’t understand this but, when you play FOOTBALL you cannot get your way through bombing innocent civilians, torturing people and murdering scores of people and being extremist. It’s on the pitch that it counts and when it comes to that…Israel have plenty of legendary players innit? Yeah. I remember….oh hold on….

folks… what do you guys think of black cats forking out 9 million for craig gordon?
    _____________________________________

That’s a lot of money for a goalkeeper. But it’s worth it if he’s quality. I am really interested in how Sunderland’s going to go this year. What you you think, Fake Brazilian? Who does Craig Gordon shit all over?

  • 411. Texas gunner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 2:16 am

Please leave politics out of the forum. Stop the preaching, get off your fucking boxes, and let’s discuss something interesting, like, say, football. Save your political opinions for The Guardian or Independent. Repeat after me: Football. I’ll give you a football topic: Do you think Walcott serves the team better as a striker or as a winger?

Short interview with Gallas…most interesting is what he says about Bendtner

  • 413. Rabbi Savvy  |  August 8th, 2007 at 2:22 am

    @Fake Bra…

    * Arsenal had weakness in taking chances and speed on the wings. I think like Drogba, Adebayor will improve this season. Van Persie was good last season and he will be so this season as well. When Th14 and RvP went down thats when we started relying on Craptista and ali. I think buying Eduardo is going to improve the position there. Bendtner should do better as well. I am counting on improvement there (bcos Eduardo came in).

    * Drgoba was considered a flop till last season. If you think he was a class signing because he scored in CL before he came to Chelsea, there was another fellla called Morientes who did the same in same competition same year and I know what all he did in the league. So there goes another superclass player.

    * I think the team lacks speed and want Wenger to sign someone on the left wing. I fully expect him to sign one. He had mentioned that we missed Reyes last season and I truly hope he does sign someone there. I am not worried about the names. He knows that stuff better than I do. For two years papers crapped about Rosicky and then when we heard he was going to Spain he suddenly lands up here. Did not hear of Da Silva or Denilson before we signed. so I am expecting someone to come in there.

    * I am not discussing foreign policy and nothing you wrote suggests that you have the brains to discuss something as complex as mid-east issues. I know you are from England and can read English but the ability to comprehend and understand stuff requires a lot more than that. okay?

    * Israel does not have any legends. Arsenal has plenty but that does not make us champions. And we are discussing Arsenal issues because the current results are not good enough. On current results Israel is doing better than England.

    * Every dog has its day, every bitch has plenty of them. just ask you mom!

  • 414. vlcgooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 2:23 am

Fake Brazilian, you are one angry dude. I really like winning and feel like crap when Arse loses, but lighten up. Chelsea came in with a 300 million deficit or something like that over two years, then Man U had the season of their life. I don’t think they will be as good this year. They were lucky with injuries and had everything working for them. So really, 2 years the league was bought and last year Man U was just more consistent.

  • 415. Rabbi Savvy  |  August 8th, 2007 at 2:25 am

    @ 410 , WGE

9 million is a lot for a keeper and I thought Sunderland may be better served spending more elsewhere. It will be good to see how this one turns out. Keane has got plenty of ex-mancs up there. I was very surprised when he bought Kieran Richardson. I though his infamous rant specifically name Richardson.

I just read the same interview. I doubt if Bendtner will play much at the start of the season. Wenger will perhaps give him some chances as sub.

  • 418. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 2:30 am

    FB,

I said the money goes to Transfers AND the stadium debt.

As for Figo…there have been two wingers in the last ten years who were relativly slow bt were stil great. pires and Figo. but the thing is…neither were really wingers. Both more like AM or thir forwards. So there goes your theory. If you know of a player who is blessed with skills as good as theirs, call me.

  • 419. ey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 2:32 am

Gllas’ change in attitude (at least in public) is very impressive ever since Arsene started dangling the vice-captains position in front of his nose.

  • 420. Fake Brazilian  |  August 8th, 2007 at 2:33 am

413: Rabbi Ignorant has now gone and done it.

Yes. After claiming the Croatian league was ‘better’ than the Portuguese league and after claiming that Drenthe was a ‘big-name signing’ (so what does that make someone like Eto’o or Kaka then?)…he has now compared Akinbayor with Drogba.

    Nothing. Else. To. Say.

Gallas had this to say at his site..

William Gallas was captain of the Arsenal team and was unstoppable against Inter. He could proudly lift the trophy. Although it was feared that Arsenal were going downhill after Thierry Henry’s departure, the Gunners showed in the Emirates Cup that they had a lot of resources. And the French defender, now given new responsibilities, will not be complaining about that!

    http://williamgallas.net/en/gab_info.asp?info_id=5204

I would not know when he would say what. I am happy if he can keep his mouth shut and perform on the pitch.

You 2 are a Disgrace though. You are both nothing but cuntish racists from racist societies. You are so blinkered to your own ignorance it is pitiful. And for your info Rabbi: you DID talk about the Portuguese league (known as the BWin Liga, get your knowledge straight Apartheid-child) being inferior to te Croatian one as we were comparing Quaresma and Dog-dudu. Yet again though you’re a cunt and thank Lord cunts llike you and Texas-boy dont’t actually attend games (that’s why your support means fuck all). Arsenal F.C is not a club for racists or Apartheid-supporters.

FOotball rumours to thrill Arsenal fans

To the guy who said Wesley Snejder is not coming to Arsenal think again as he has been spotted looking at a £2.3 mansion in Hertfordshire

    ARSENAL EXCLUSIVE
Arsene Wenger will try and activate the relase Clause in Gamst Pedersen. the fee is about £7–9m hughes as been trying all summer for gamst to sign a contract and he has said he is waiting for options now he will go to Arsenal and he will provide pace and ball in the box. you heard this first hear. this is exclusive and 100%.

ARSENE KNOWS Luka Modric will be an Arsenal player before the end of the transfer window? It has got to the stage now where the fans are asking the club to let him go for the good of his career.

Yoan Gouffran will also sign but will be loaned back to SM CAEN for the season.

AW is is playing a waiting game with Chelsea over the signing of Lassana Diarra, it seems as though Diarra has stated that he only wants to go to Arsenal so this is going to rumble on until the end of the transfer window.

  • 457. Well-endowed gooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 5:31 am

You know, these are the same old rumours we’ve been hearing since July. The only thing that’s changed are the names. We were linked with Martins, Anelka, Ribery, Babel two months ago. We’re linked with Diarra, Modric, Pedersen, Quaresma now. Does it really matter? It’s not like Wenger’s going to sign any of these guys.

I think Wenger reads this site and realises that, if he went for the obivous options (Huntelaar, Quaresma et al), the rose-tinters will never live it down. All the little Gelblets will be proven right, and their smugness will know no bounds. They will reign over gunnerblog forevermore, with much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I trust that Arsene Wenger will never let that happen. He’s a paid-up member of Arsene Knows, after all.

  • 458. Well-endowed gooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 5:50 am

This is what the side should look like:

    Cech
    Alves Toure Terry Cole
    Ronaldo Essien Fabregas Quaresma
    Tevez van Persie

    This is what we’re getting:

    Lehmann
    Sagna Toure Gallas Clichy
    Eboue Diaby Fabregas Hleb
    Eduardo van Persie

We should get used to it, fellas. It’s not going to change. And I do have big balls.

  • 459. Bergkamp  |  August 8th, 2007 at 7:05 am

  • 460. Bergkamp  |  August 8th, 2007 at 7:08 am

No this is what we should be getting:

    Sagna–Toure–Gallas–Clichy
    Eboue—–Gilberto—- As yet Unknown LWer
    ——————Cesc
    —————RvP–Dudu

  • 461. Bergkamp  |  August 8th, 2007 at 7:09 am

So how are we all today?

  • 462. Well-endowed gooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 7:19 am

We’re exhausted after Faker’s rants. I was looking forward to a day’s worth of nonsensical musings about my penis. It was very disappointing to have to wade through that guy’s stuff. Leaves me feeling quite deflated.

You really think there’s no room for Hleb/Rosicky? We’ve spent a total of 16 million over two years on those guys.

Silly thought of the day - I remember Wenger pushing Fabregas to the right in 02-03(?). He was found out for pace, but maybe we could try him on the left and have Clichy do all the running? Take him out of the action, of course, but you never know. I think a central pairing of Denilson and Diaby would be more stable than a Fabregas-led one, at any rate.

  • 463. FunkyMunkey  |  August 8th, 2007 at 7:31 am

    Cashley: cunt.

  • 465. Bergkamp  |  August 8th, 2007 at 7:35 am

It’s a long season and if things stay the way they are I’d look at this:
    ——Sagna—Gallas—Toure
    Eboue—————————–Clichy
    ————Gilberto—Cesc
    ——————Hleb
    ————–RvP—Dudu

The width is there in Eboue and Clichy and Sagna can and has played in the centre of defense before Having three defenders at the back should stabilise things given Wenger has effectively played two centre-backs and attacking fullbacks in the past. Hleb in behind- if he improves on his pre-season again he will have a phenomenal season.
    Thoughts?

I hope we can be flexible this season and easily revert between formations. We have versatile players to do it. We could be seeing the above line-up change to a 433 or a 451. 442 can be dones easily with the guys we have as well.

    We have the potential.

  • 466. TopCat  |  August 8th, 2007 at 8:21 am

    Dear Mr Fake Brazilian,

How can you be so angry at people you have never met before?

From glancing at your posts, your writing style seems to be to rant about a variety of stuff, contradict yourself a few times, then throw abuse at anyone who points these contradictions out to you, or who dare take the time to try and explain why you are wrong.

While we can argue football all day long, you seem to think that anyone but yourself actually gives a fuck about your political standpoint, your views on which nations are the most racist, your ex-girl and her racist father - why do you think that is of interest to the rest of us?

Notice - I have not said anything about this season - so you cannot even come back at me and call me rose tinted or start to attack my views as I haven’t given you any.

I am willing to accept that you feel this season will be the worst in many years - but you must accept that the majority of people don’t feel the same way.

If you can learn to respect other people’s opinion instead of calling them every name under the sun and bringing racism, politics and your ex-girl (who you are still with) into it, then you may find you can actually have a decent football conversation…

or maybe that isn’t what you want?

  • 467. Well-endowed gooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 8:25 am

TopCat, what makes you think people want a decent football conversation? I just want to make silly comments about my penis. The football talk is incidental.

Bergkamp, when has Wenger ever played 3-5-2?

  • 468. TopCat  |  August 8th, 2007 at 8:28 am

The 352 won’t happen but in the absence of someone natural on the left in a 442 how would Clichy go? If Traore were to go to LB… I don’t think we could handles to defender-come-widemen at the same time.

  • 472. Well-endowed gooner  |  August 8th, 2007 at 8:44 am

Bergkamp, is Traore ready for first team football? Isn’t he a defensively lax version of Clichy? Maybe Clichy as winger, Gallas as LB and Senderos as CB.

But your silence on Rosicky is deafening. You really don’t rate the guy?

471- Make that ‘two’ and ‘handle’

    Respect me

  • 475. Bergkamp  |  August 8th, 2007 at 8:50 am

I rate him. It’s a long season and in the absence of a natural wideman he will play out there. He was really starting to improve at the backend of last season. So he’d go on the He’s better in the centre but obviously we already have that area covered.

I think he can do really well this year if he stays off the injury list but I don’t know who will play on the left well if he gets injured. Just can’t handle Hleb out there :(

Senderos still needs to get over Drogba : ) That would be a good option though. Maybe Djourour. Long season after all.

    Sagna–Toure–Sennderos–Gallas

    Excuse the typos.

Blog Head, thou art soverign over all gunnerblog jackasses. Thy wit eclipses my humble mind like the rising dawn overshadows the flickering flame of the night watchman’s solitary candle. I pay obsequious homage to thy noble visage and perfectly bulbous head, which, like a prize-wining turnip, doth present a tiny glimpse of the wonders of Heaven itself. Truly, thou reigneth over all, and over all doth have dominion.

    Hail Bloghead the First!

Adebayour should start the year just in front of RvP.

    You twisted fuck.

Wenger hinted that Eddie can play left wing. Seems a waste of super-cool finishing, but if he can do it, all power to him. I really miss Reyes, though.

I think he deserves some sort of recognition. He’s improved immensely since his debut. There was this post eariler on that was pure magic, about how he was the moderator on the site. And there was a post on goodplaya a couple of weeks ago, where he bagged “Bloghead’s Mum” for telling him off. Methinks Bloghead is a bit of a modern day poet, or an idiot savant.

All in all, he’s the premier gunnerblog clown (I’ve still got a way to go).

well i hope he buys someone but i get the feeling we will be starting the season without any players and wont expect any to come in before the end of the transfer window either ?

he should buy a winger and a good center half in my opinion

ill be at as many games as i can get to but i think the super signings are a miff and dont see how we can challange utd/chelski for the tittle with the squad we have

i do hope they prove me wrong so i can celebrate outside the townhall again how i miss them days !!!
