Arsenal Third Kit + Fixture List Viewable Now
0 guns June 13th, 2007

I thought this was an exclusive. Turns out it’s not, as there are close-ups available here.
Doubtless it’ll prove more popular than the despised white shirt (below). I have to say, contrary to popular opinion, I quite like it.

Weirdly, both kits fit pretty well with the Gunnerblog colour scheme. COINCIDENCE? Yes, almost certainly.
And so, the fixture list is out. We start at home to Fulham and end in Moscow for the Champions League Final. Obviously.

Oh dear… I hope it’s not official… Still, I haven’t had a proper look yet so it might grow on me…
2. Paul | June 13th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Upon closer inspection… I like it!! I won’t be buying the white kit because I don’t do well with white shirts, but I may buy that.

THIS IS THE BEST AWAY KIT EVA
4. Adam | June 13th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
I heard some other site mention that its just a photoshopped home shirt with added shadows. The picture looks very familiar.
Its probably just someone’s attempt at a joke by making the arsenal shirt in barca colours. Very funny.
5. Goofle | June 13th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
Maybe its an attempt to fool Henry to stay at Arsenal and not go to Barca!!!
6. Good to be a GOONAH!! | June 13th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Um…. have we sold the entire club to Barcelona?
7. Wingston75 | June 13th, 2007 at 7:35 pm
Pardon me for speaking heretically of an Arsenal kit that is not yellow, but after seeing the shots here and on Arseblog, i think it looks f**king awesome… and it can’t be a photoshopped home shirt, as the home shirt hasnt got a fold down collar…»»Arsene Knows««
8. STELIOS | June 13th, 2007 at 7:35 pm
guys its just a distraction by the club to divert our attention from what is going 2 b another arsenal transfer circus, hold tight..
9. goonertym | June 13th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
that best not be official its f**kin sh*te, mayb we shud jus play in our home strip this year.
ne1 else got a funny feelin a spurs fan has designed our kits this year as a wind up????
10. Blah, blah, blah | June 13th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
I love it, be very suprised if it’s official. Nothing like a barca kit, more like an early 90’s QPR number.
Cant wait for the season to start now, wonder what the first 11 will be ???? Much to ponder, not much to get excited about…life, what a struggle

“despised white kit” is a complete mischaracterization. a better one would be “controversial”. So far i have scanned all the Arsenal-web-verse and from what i can tell, the opinions i read are about 60%+ in FAVOR of the new kit, although there is doubtless a vocal group who don’t like it. still, it seems those who like it outnumber those who don’t. as for the striped one… looks fake to me but you never know.

guys sorry to go on a different subject but i like seville kit ..the way they write their name at theback and all fuckin artistic….

Henry, acting like a cheap prostitute for Barca,
It’s no great surprise to me, we should have sold him last season, it’s not too late lets just sell him now !!!
16. Dave | June 13th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
Danny Fiszman lives in Geneva and cares a shit about Arsenal, the second largest shareholder is Lady Nina-Bracewell Smith who cares shit about football and Arsenal too as she is a non-executive board member anyway.
17. Dave | June 13th, 2007 at 8:22 pm
If I crack the Euromillions lottery jackpot one day, I will donate half of the yield to Arsenal so the board can finally sign a quality player, the other half would go straight to Africa to help some starving childs.
18. parth_india | June 13th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
nice thoughts dave but do meet me when that happens arsenal thing would be accepted but africa kids no ways oyu would be moving around splashing cash finding targets to make more kids… LOL

The translation is that it is the 2007-08 European kit; pictures have not yet been released; will be available 20th July.
I would plump for it being a blue kit……

22. gt | June 13th, 2007 at 9:47 pm
A word about the away kit (white): It doesn’t look bad, seriously, and it’s particularly sharp with the burgundy shorts. But I imagine an ordinary fan that wears the white shirt with, let say, a pair of blue jeans. That’s just too plain. So it looks good on the field, but not fashionable elsewhere.

24. GOONER 7 | June 13th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
The striped shud be our away kit with herbert chapman patch on it. The colours used on it have been used in the past, about 1990’s. i personally dont think it is like barca’s top, and this shud be the away kit. as said by GT the white is toooooo plain.

@WillyG 21: I wouldn’t want someone like Kronke to take the reins at our beloved club but rather some enthusiastic Arab who would like to pump their oil money into the club. People who hate to lose and would rather invest billions as a matter of proud. But a recent statement of Dubai International Capital suggests that they think they can make profit by investing in Arsenal. And that’s not a good thing. We need all the money at the club, our current board doesn’t get dividend payments either. I can’t see us being profitable in the near future so I wonder where the profit for the sheiks will come from. So as a conclusion I would like to have one or two British billionaires who are and will always be Arsenal fans to make a takeover bid.
30. Dave | June 13th, 2007 at 11:25 pm
Somehow we are the beggars of the premier league but I like the fact that we are still in the top four despite almost no transfer funds being available. At least we haven’t spent millions on flop players like Del Horno…etc. It’s a question of perspective and of expectations. I think Wenger is doing a pretty good job given the ressource constraints he does face. But given the success in 2004 when we used to be in the top two every season it’s clearly disappointing. Despite sometimes being negative and slating our players I’m still proud of Arsenal. Arsenal is and will always be a special club, no matter what happens.
31. anderslimpar | June 14th, 2007 at 12:27 am
suppose we play psv or sheff utd (hope not) away. what use is another kit with red or white? looks good, but that shirt is just not arsenal. i suppose we should have a fourth kit then. how about green and purple?
32. Realist14 | June 14th, 2007 at 1:27 am
I think it is sad and says much about the state of our club these days when in the summer, transfer window open for only the second and final time for 2007…the only positive thing we can find to talk about is…a fucking pathetic kit. Nonsense.
And to all the Apologists who keep banging on about our ‘lack of money’, please read the quotes from Edelman on our player transfer facility of £40 million. Straight out the horse’s mouth - not some random fan speculation on a blog. £40 mil. But the problem is that with Dein gone and AW being so pathetically useless at negotiations and stuck in the 1950s with regards to transfers…we are bound to miss out on all our targets. Example:
”fter stalling for so long, it seems as if FK Haugesund are growing increasingly frustrated with Arsenals defiance in paying the correct fee for the Norwegian starlet Havard Nordveit.
It is believed that Arsenal have tabled a £1.8 million bid for the 16 year old, with FK Haugesund seemingly defiant to sell the talented defender for what they see as too little a fee.
It is now believed that FK Haugesund are beginning to lose patience with Arsenal , and may prompt bids from other suitors to the Norwegian, with Manchester United being confirmed as one of a number of European teams tracking him by FK Haugesund director Nils Halvor Berge .
‘Havard is an exceptional talent in Europe. Havard wants to join Arsenal, but Manchester United, Bordeaux, Ajax and clubs from Italy and Spain are also following him. We have had many contacts with other clubs in Europe and know what they are willing to pay for him.”
AW and this spineless cuntish board are not even capable of conducting successful negotiations for some 17 year-old Norwegian child. Cannot even do that. Pathetic.
And some of you think Quaresma, Huntelaar, Trez or Ribery were gonna join us? Let alon Eto’o? What with THESE lot in charge? Haaaaaaaaaaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Maybe we could sign up the receptionist from AFC box-office to play up-front instead of Adebayor or Henry (when the prostitute goes). Mind you, these idiots in charge of our club’ll prolly manage to cock that up too lmfao.
33. Deano | June 14th, 2007 at 2:54 am
You really have no sense of an argument do you? So to back yourself up this time, youre arguing that we cant sign a 17 year old. But wait, surely why would you care about that when the basis of nearly all your arguments concerning our bad performances is our young team.
Secondly, you cunt. Learn to read. You’re quote reads 16 years old and either you have extremely fat fingers or you’re just a twat because you then type ‘17′.
Thirdly, anyone typing ‘lmfao’ or ‘prolly’ should be shot and it is likely they are mentally retarded.
Finally, I would go into detail into how your sense of humour mimics that of a German and how your ‘apologists’ insults are so pathetic I doubt you could make a baby cry. Your total lack of football knowledge does you justice you fat wanker.
34. Grovelad | June 14th, 2007 at 3:02 am
Rosicky comment today:
“I am happy in Arsenal and this is the end of this story for me.” “I have no reason to change anything. I want to stay in Arsenal.”
Dear Captain, would you need us to send you a copy of what Tomas said?
other clubs wouldn’t come in for kolo or Gilberto every season because they know its a waste of effort as they are very committed to us and would not even have the slightest thought about leaving.
And the new kit looks like Flamengo’s home kit
35. Realist14 | June 14th, 2007 at 3:16 am
Deano you moron cunt: who’s talking about age? I am talking about transfer TARGETS retard. If there’ a 16 year-old as good as Rooney around then yes I want him. Don’t care. Quality is what matters. Though a dickhead like you wouldnt know that and you just tried to argue that I’m moaning about us not signing a youngster. The one who knows nowt about football is you butt-munch. Cos if AW misses out on this 17 year-old, he’ll only move onto the next 15 year-old like SUNU. Idiot.
Mind you love the brilliant argument you made. Like pointing out I wrote he was 16 instead of 17. Well done. Class. You must have done well on your math GCSEs like that retard. Good spot. Also love the way you got all touchy on the Apologist word. Clearly, you are another of what MB calls the ‘AW nappy-soiling brigade’. Poor lost little soul. Why don’t you try having supported Arse before 1998 and maybe, just maybe you’d realize there was a club before Wenger and glory-hunting cunts like you jumped aboard.
Arse will live long after Henry and AW both piss off to sunny Spain. All that’ll be left is morons like you weeping cos daddy Arsene ain’t there to spoon-feed you. Pathetic.

Didier Drogba:
‘”I have had Mourinho on the phone several times since the end of the Premiership and he is all psyched up.
“That is when he is at his best, when he has the feeling the whole world is against him. He is a WINNER who adores difficulty. It stimulates him.”
Sounds better than your manager not committing himself and your captain whoring himself though eh? Well doesn’t it?
37. Arsene Apologist | June 14th, 2007 at 4:17 am
Realist, I thought our club specialises in signing 16 and 17 year olds. We’ve got to realise that we’ve got a mortgage and have to skimp on certain luxuries. The 40 milliion transfer facility is a “last resort”, something to fall back on in case we’re in danger of slipping out of the CL spots. It’s not going to be used to buy us a title. Financially prudent people would think it irresponsible to add $40 million to a $600 million debt.
Bitter fans can do one of three things:
1. accept we’ll be uncompetitive for a couple of years
2. take an extended break from football, or
3. (sigh) yes, go f**k off and support Man U, Chelsea, etc.
Fro those who wave their season tickets from the 80s, 70s, 60s, and telling me to f**k off because they’re the true fans, maybe you should seriously think of taking a season off. Think of it as long service leave.
And I like the new frog logo on the away shirt - we need something cheerful to distract us during away ties at Bolton, Blackburn etc.
38. Grovelad | June 14th, 2007 at 5:24 am
Apologist, dun think we will be uncompetitive even with our current squad. Its really how AW going to man-managed his players to give their best for the team…you know, TEAM OVER SELF. Man for man, I think our players is top 2 in the league…much like how Fergie managed to squeeze so much out from Giggs, Scholes, Neville.
Look, every team in the league admire our talent. Its apparent cos the way team defended against us shows how much our team can play. If the team can really gel next season, with a little improvement with injuries, we can really have a good run.

Morning lads
42. Arsene Apologist | June 14th, 2007 at 7:06 am
I don’t deny the talent, I just don’t think we’ll compete for the league until the players become more consistent. It’s a promising sign that we can beat Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool… but we’ll only be competitive when we can grind out away wins against 10-man defences. It requires the kind of discipline you only get with experience, and I don’t think this squad is there yet. As Wenger once said, “you buy experience with points”.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still optimistic about the future of the club; I don’t call myself Arsene Apologist for nothing.
43. Grovelad | June 14th, 2007 at 7:19 am
i’ll be satisfied with a pro-longed challange of the title, a cup win, and a semi final CL next season. and hopefully the 08-09 season we still have our current players at the club and mount a serious quardruple bid!! Future’s bright!

44. Tubes | June 14th, 2007 at 7:19 am
i agree AA, currently we’re quite a long way off from this team realising its full potential but depending on who he buys in the transfer window (which doesn’t close till the end of august to all the people crying thier eyes out) we could speed that process up a bit.
45. Grovelad | June 14th, 2007 at 7:21 am
it took drogba, ronaldo 1 full season to really fly in the league, hope Rosicky, Cesc, RVP, Clichy, Eboue can really live up to the expectation the coach and us have of them

Below is an interview with “the beast” about being recalled to the brazil national squad to play in the copa america thanks to ze roberto pulling out at the last minute… i think its quite funny.
“I am very happy with this new chance that I have been given to play for the Brazilian national team,” Baptista told TV Globo.
“I was a little bit upset when the list was announced and I wasn’t in it but I had a kind of faith that I could receive a last minute call.
“In the beginning I thought that maybe Dunga had decided not to include me in the list to let me have some rest because everyone knows that the English league is very tough.
no mate, dunga didn’t call you up coz you were shite and he had to make some secret inquiries to ensure that you were in fact brazilian and not from somewhere in the region of honolulu like your football skills suggest you are. honest to goodness.

Cool it lads, everyone seems to having a right go at AW for not signing new players, MANU have splashed but what about LIVERPOOL and of all the clubs CHELSEA
i think all fans should rememeber that (speaking in share market terms) all fundamentals with regards to AFC are solid, players who are current assets are all valued at hefty prices and will command premium if at all available for sale. Underperforming assets have been liquidated or in the process of doing so (eg Baptista and Aliadiere)
if TH wants to leave he may do so, he need not have a go at the
club or AW for it is they who have polished him into a diamond any
way TH had rubbed AW the wrong way before the Spuds game
so root our disciplinary probs at the earliest
regarding AW contract surely he is not so foolish to sign without
knowing his future employers, remember all major shareholders
have only pleged to hold their shares until April 2008
Stan kroenke is not so foolish to bring instability into an asset that
he has bought on a hefty premium
cool it lads now it is the best time to jump onto to the AFC bandwagon
when all high and sundry are shorting the prospects of AFC, surely
the prospects of AFC have bottomed out and it is time to go
LONG…………………………

76. Top Cat | June 14th, 2007 at 10:17 am
First, Id be surprised if we spent 40m.
We will probably spend half of that…. unless AW has a 20m signing up his sleeve, but I doubt it.
So prices…
Malouda 12m.
Babel 6m
Quaesma 10m
Richards 10m
Torress 15-20m
Trez 5m
Renato Augusta 4m
Unknowns…. ???m
77. Tubes | June 14th, 2007 at 10:19 am
i expect to win every game until 27th of october…
on to things more humourous… was out on the factory floor this morning and this polish lad was crouching down with his legs wide open putting something on to a pallet when all of a sudden his trouser ripped right along the groin area and to make matters worse ‘captain winky’ popped out to say hello as he was going commando!!!

wat about the norwegian boy? now that MANU is interested the price going to shoot up
if we sell reyes for 8-10, and the money from Ali to give us 10-12 million extra.
The way Edelman said it was like ‘ heres the money but it would be the best interest if you dun spend at all, but heres the money, dun spend if its not necessary, but heres the money’…

we got £40m
but like u said seeing wenger spending i cannot imagine it at all, i can remember him spending loads in 2001 where jeffers, van bronckhorst, wright came in that was around £25m i think
but anyways am curious about florent malouda who is this unamed english club, usually arsenal like to be unknown and unamed so could be a possibliity but seeing wenger spending £17m i dont think he will, he probarly end up bidding for ryan babel if he is available at the £6m mark……
but wenger did spend £10m on hleb….
wha do u think happened to franck ribery, there chairman said again an unamed english club enquired about ribery so i guess again it could be us… arsenal keep there transfer undisclosed

93. Top Cat | June 14th, 2007 at 10:42 am
Hey Shabz!
Dick aka Willy wrote this a few days back re Ribery…. have a read.
“I also caught up with some old friends who also work as football writers in France, one in-particular who is very well-connected with officials at Marseilles.
At the time he told me that Arsene Wenger had been made contact about BOTH Nasri and Ribery after the World Cup, but Pape Diouf told him they would only let one of them leave the following summer at the earliest, and that he still held some hope that both players would stay if l’OM qualified for the Champions League that season.
Despite this, Ribery apparently very nearly joined us last season but decided at the last minute to stay with Marseilles as he believed he owed them one more year (namely due to a talk he had with Diouf). But - and this is where it gets interesting - it was agreed that if Ribery did decide to leave the following season (effectively, around about now) then Arsenal would have absolute first refusal on him at £14M (roughly 20 million euros). This was a deal made between Wenger, Diouf, Ribery and, most importantly, his (now former) agent Bruno Heiderscheid who would handle any future negotiations AND a certain David Dein. All the inside knowledge indicated Ribery would be offered to Arsenal before anyone else at the end of the season and due to Wenger’s long-standing interest, we would take him.
So, in light of hearing about Bayern’s discussions with Ribery I rang my friend to ask him why Arsenal weren’t in the race and he said that in April Ribery parted company with Heiderscheid and signed with a new agent called Alain Migliaccio (very much in the money-hungry mould of Pini Zahvi); the same guy who masterminded Zidane’s switch to Juventus. Migliaccio didn’t care about the previous agreement as a) Dein was no longer there to enforce it and b) it was an agreement he had no involvement with anyway and wanted to sell Ribery for the highest price as, naturally, the more money Ribery went for the more money he would pocket out of the transfer.
Obviously the final decision rests with the player, and Ribery is said to have had his heart set on a move to Arsenal, instructing Migliaccio to make contact. However, Migliaccio dissuaded Ribery from the Arsenal move when Wenger told that him they wouldn’t pay above the previously agreed £14M (can’t blame Wenger, a deal is a deal) and that they couldn’t finalize any potential deal for at least two weeks (I don’t know why, maybe because of the Reyes sale, who knows). As Bayern were willing to pay £3M more than Arsenal (don’t forget, 10% of all transfer fees go direct to the player, so 1.4M in Ribery’s pocket suddenly becomes 1.7M if he goes to Bayern; and it’s out of this fee that Migliaccio would take his cut) and willing to do business immediately, Migliaccio progressed for a quick-sale and persuaded Ribery that Bayern would be a much better option.
So there you go. Had former agent Heiderscheid still been in charge of the deal and had Dein still been at the club Ribery would have almost certainly become an Arsenal player.

True, they are pikies as well as chavs now…
96. Dave | June 14th, 2007 at 10:47 am
We are playing against Liverpool and Manchester twice in a row, doesn’t look so good. Furthermore I’m slightly worried facing Newcastle and Blackburn away so early in the season. Those games could well end our title dreams before they even started. Can see us losing both games 1-0. Fulham on the first day of the season is a must-win game, really.
97. Top Cat | June 14th, 2007 at 10:52 am
Hey Mavis,
I read the following article…
JOSE MOURINHO is finally signing the player who nearly cost him his job at Chelsea.
Tal Ben Haim has snubbed his old Bolton boss Sam Allardyce and will join Chelsea ahead of Newcastle - six months after Mourinho first tried to sign him.
The Blues boss was angry when Roman Abramovich refused to sanction the £3million deal during the January transfer window, causing relations between the two to sink to a new low.
Abramovich put a block on Mourinho signing players and did not see the point in splashing out on Ben Haim, 25, when he would cost nothing this summer when his deal expired.
So the Israel star’s arrival on a free transfer next week represents a moral victory for the Russian owner.
It is another sign of the changed times in west London and Mourinho claims he can win back the Premiership title with Bosman signings.
So far this summer the Blues coach has signed Brazilian defender Alex, Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro from Bayern Munich and Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell.

116. Mavis | June 14th, 2007 at 11:13 am
Competing for the league. I.e. not out of it before Christmas and maybe challenging up until Easter (not sure why I’m basing our success around christian festivals). As long as we are having an influence on the title, it will be a success compared to last season. Seeing one or two teams running away with it is fucking depressing!
It would be nice to get a strong start to the campaign so we’re not having to chase the leaders from an early stage..

well the thing is media from spain and england always pick on arsenal because we have class players i.e. theirry henry and fabregas
now we have to deal with it, every summer fabregas will be linked to real or barca and media will come out with stupid stories
after selling vieira we got a history now we will sell our best player if the right offer and how old he is, everyone knows wenger over 30 policy… hence why they think henry could be leaving he is 29 same age as vieira when he left.
arsene wenger always commits to his contracts and basically he loves this team he has at the moment i cant see him going i probarly sign for another 2 years
135. GunnerShabz | June 14th, 2007 at 11:35 am

TO ALL THOSE WANKERS WHO POINT THE FINGER AT WENGER…
…talk about biting the hand that feeds you. You expect him to be loyal? Where the fuck is YOUR loyalty to Wenger?
At every game I attend I always try and instigate and take pride in the song “THERE’S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER” because there certainly ain’t anyone else there who will have such an impact at our club.
So before you start thinking about yourselves, think about Wenger’s position: we know he prides himself on never breaking a contract; Mourinho brags about winning the Champions league, Wenger doesn’t “dance on tables” about going the season unbeaten, but he does like to remind people of his loyalty - yes, his LOYALTY at never broken his terms as a manager. Therefore, signing a new deal for AW isn’t just about putting pen to paper and “seeing what happens”. When he signs that contract, in his mind, it’s like signing away his soul for the next 3 or 4 or 5 years of his life - whatever the contract length is. If you had been at a club for 10 years, had your best friend (and the man who practically gave you the job in the first place) leave, had no money to spend AND cunt-headed fans like some of the people on this blog who are constantly blaming you for everything and moaning at how shit you are - would you be in a rush to re-sign? FUCK OFF you would.
Wenger has every right to bide his time and assess his options at the end of the season. I’d be devastated if he went - but I also wouldn’t hurl eggs at him out of respect for a man who will ALWAYS be an Arsenal legend.
141. Dave | June 14th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
Ronaldinho, Xavi, Eto’o all crept into Henry’s arse, like last season. I’m really starting to hope that they will lose their title this weekend to Real, not that Madrid is much better but at least they don’t talk as much as those stupid Catalan bitches.
142. Dick (aka Willy) | June 14th, 2007 at 12:46 pm
WHAT’S MORE, you doubters talk about Henry and Wengers “little chats” and that “oh, Wenger must have told Henry he’s not staying, that’s why Henry wants to go now before he misses his chance” —
– well, do you not think Edelman and Hill-Wood have their “little chats” with Wenger? Do you not consider that maybe - regardless of the board’s facade - that Wenger (and Henry) sense the bad-blood amongst the upper echelons of our club in response to Wenger and Henry’s defence of David Dein?
Do you not think maybe our board’s relationship with Wenger following Dein’s departure is as fucked as that of Abramovich and Mourinho?
The only difference is that our manager has the DIGNITY to keep those matters to himself, rather than do a Mourinho and mouth off about it in the press.
In my opinion Wenger is not happy at the CLUB but DOESN’T want to leave because of his love for the FANS and the PLAYERS who have always supported him. It’s a tug of war if you ask me between his heart and his head. Personally, the only way I can see Wenger leaving is if France fail to qualify for (or have a shit) Euro 2008, meaning Domenech is sacked and the French job becomes available. He’s always wanted to manage his country.
However, if we have a successful season, then regardless of what jobs become available, he will stay and raise this club from the ashes like a rejuvinated phoenix.
Then all you twats who doubted the great man can hang your head in shame. But you won’t. You’ll hold your head high as an Arsenal fan - and tell all your friends who support Spurs how you “always knew Wenger would turn it around”, blah, blah, bullshit.
Fucking disgrace.

or, i remember him saying, “first i try to squeeze every penny out of the club for my contract, then i save the club every penny i can after that”. perhaps he is just strenghening his position, next yr they will be desparate to keep him…
152. Mavis | June 14th, 2007 at 1:42 pm
Mucas - It’s almost like you’re willing us to fuck up. You’re so sure Henry will leave, so sure Wenger will fuck it up. What are you? A psychic?
You say we’re miles behind the top 3, yet where did Liverpool finish last season? Oh, that’s right, they also finished 21 points behind the leaders. And yeah, they’ve made loads of signings in the transfer market to remedy that so far, haven’t they?
I’m not saying we don’t have problems, and some of your points are pertinent - we do need to be more active in the transfer market, but it’s only June!!
You ask how we’re going to improve, but is it beyond the realms of your comprehension that TH, Hleb, Rosicky, Eboue will all have more productive seasons than the last? RVP will be back and firing, Cesc (who you admit is staying) will want to improve further. What would he acheive by having a shit season and letting his credentials slide?
There’s nothing wrong with seeing both sides of the arguement, but I find the amount of satisfaction that you obviously derive from predicting (or even stating) certain failure of the club you claim to support somewhat perverse.
I’d happily wager with you that will finish in the top 3 this season, because I have faith in ‘papa wenger’ to deliver. The man made mistakes last season, but he’s turned situations around in the past and I for one believe he will do so again. If not, you can happily chow down on the runny excrement from my soiled nappy.

MARTIN — oops, sorry, I mean MARCUS (old habits die hard, I guess) — perhaps it slipped your mind… but…
YOU STILL HAVEN’T ANSWERED MY QUESTION, YOU CUNT!!!
ANSWER MY FUCKING QUESTION, WANK-FACE!!!
(here’s the question again, just in case your brain is so full of Capello’s cum that the brain cell which stored all recollection of it happened to drown in the sea of sperm swimming in your skull:)
Q - Who is AVAILABLE, would be willing to join a club with NO MONEY and could do a BETTER JOB than AW?
AND IF YOU WON’T ANSWER MY QUESTION, DON’T ACCUSE OTHER PEOPLE OF NOT ANSWERING YOURS!!!!!! YOU CUNT!!!!!!!!
And for your information - hairy bum-sucker - I supported Arsenal BEFORE Wenger or Henry or Vieira or any other “French-armade” (told you he was a racist cunt, everyone) turned up.
AND, you FUCKING HYPOCRITE: you rambled in one of your posts the other day about how you so violently disagree with people saying all this “fuck off and support another team” nonsense. Yet what was the second sentence of your post (#170) - yes, the same one that didn’t bother to answer my question - do you remember MARCUS?
You’re the one who knows nothing about football. And that’s why you’re a Spurs fan.
Aurevoir, you racist cunt.
155. ron | June 14th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
i cant help but feel the same old shit is being recycled & spout out by someone else, if not the same person!!!!
im gettin pretty, bored (see wot i did)… u lot better start an interesting discussion soon or im guna start doing my job, & we all know wot will happen then, thats correct… i will dominate the world with my lazy intelligence.

MAVIS - that’s a fucking top reply to Marcus “The Mucus” Martin! Agree with everything you wrote mate.
157. BengalGooner | June 14th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
Why do we need to borrow money to fund transfers. What about the extra income from the new stadum , supposedly £12m extra income after interest payments. Also what about xtra money from last yrs Champion league run?
what about all the clever wheeling and dealing over the years? Arsneal finance mystery - WHERE IS THE MONEY???????????
158. LBrady7 | June 14th, 2007 at 2:24 pm
Dick, you are completely right about Barmy/Marcus etc being a racist.
I remember a string a couple of months ago. The 2 indian guys on here had met up to watch a game and were discussing it. He racially and homophobically abused them and anyone else trying to defend them as I remember. (He was using a different alias of course). But he refered to it yesterday and gave himself away!
159. LBrady7 | June 14th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
BengalGooner
The stadium is built but not paid for.
We are hundreds of millions of pounds in debt.
Despite these facts, some people still refuse to accept money is an issue.
160. Mavis | June 14th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
LBrady7 - I remember that too. Can’t remember which alias it was under though - he’s used so many!
161. Dick (aka Willy) | June 14th, 2007 at 2:29 pm
LBrady7 - interesting to hear that. No wonder he wants Arsene to leave! Daft cunt. Who the fuck has a “real name” of Martin Barney anyhow? Can’t imagine Barney the fucking dinosaur’s dad was called ‘Martin’, can you? Tho saying that, the twat’s comments do hail from the prehistoric age. Perhaps we’re onto something…
162. Mavis | June 14th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
Ron - you’re right mate. This blog’s been going round in circles for about the past two weeks! it is getting pretty tedious…
Come on then - raise the bar - what should we be talking about? And don’t say “Me. Because I look great, am mega intelligent and fuck like a demon.” We’ve heard it all before!
163. Martin Barney | June 14th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
DICK: Yawn. Go support Lyon and eat a garlic pie or something.. P.S Capello IS availabe cunt-face. Ta.
MAVIS: Yeah I mean…its strange Mavis. I admit there is some perverse side of my brain that actually thinks things will not get any better until they get considerably worse. In a way that’s why I am so sure we will fuck up. I am certain AW will fuck it up this season because he has put the players under too much pressure to perform this season. And anyone that attends matches (and supports ARSENAL NOT A.W) will know that these lot are bottlers.
When the pressure’s on they simply don’t deliver. Fact. I am certain we’ll fuck up because AW has been rubbish at tactics and corners for 10 years. The guy is stubborn. He ain’t about to learn to turn shit round overnight.
And you wanna bet we’ll finish outside the top 3? You’re dam skimpy. ON! This is a bet I will win with ease though Mave.
Basically what makes me laugh about the AW nappy-soilers is that they can’t seem to decide their arguments. Full of fucking holes. One minute, it’s cos of ‘money’. Aha. But the next, when RVP and TH are ‘back from injury’, then w are instantly on the verge of the Treble. It’s pathetic and I’m sick and tired of excuses and apologists. Their excuses are laughable. This ain’t aimed at you mavis cos you actually seem one of the few overly-optimistic ppl able to converse with me without being an utter cock about it. But AW is too stubborn and the egos of Henry and Cesc stem from the manager.
Top 3? Chance’ll be a fine thing….
164. Harry Barracuda | June 14th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
It’s a HEARTS strip and should stay in Scotland where it belongs!
165. Dick (aka Willy) | June 14th, 2007 at 2:32 pm
Bengal Gooner - good point about the money; it does seem the club are suddenly a lot more skint than the board had said they’d be.
I’d like to add something to your missing revenue streams as well: this “TV money” that we can supposedly bank on come the end of the approaching season. Surely if that’s a guaranteed income, we can spend safe in the knowledge those funds can be replenished. Not ideal, I know. But if we need players now, we should buy them now.
166. LBrady7 | June 14th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
mavis, even he must realise he’s boring as fuck….. otherwise why keep changing your name!
167. BengalGooner | June 14th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
Lbrady7
Yes the stadium is being paid for each year. But has not gate money almost doubled since move to Emirates -the xtra revenue.
Also there must be transfer budget every year. What about the money from the unexpected sale of Viera 2 seasons back - I’m sure they didnt budget for that?
What has AW bought last 2 years - Hleb.Rosicky,Denilson,Diaby and Walcott -how much did all this cost ? £30m - les £13m from Viera - net spend £17m - West ham spending that on 1 palyer.
Also do not forget xtra TV money from new TV deal - probably this is what West Ham are spending.

Who the fuck has a “real name” of Martin Barney anyhow? Can’t imagine Barney the fucking dinosaur’s dad was called ‘Martin’, can you?
Beats having a mum called Madame La Whore eh?
And p.s -before any of you cunts start throwing accusations you can’t prove, check yourself. I am not ‘Marcus’ you fuckwits. Though u morons think that anyone who doesn’t love papa Wenger and think he can shoot magic cum…must be an alias of Marcus. Bunch of dickheads….
P.S Yesterday I slated Kafka. Nothing to do with him being gay or Indian. Everything to do with the fact that he’s a C-U-N-T.
169. Martin Barney | June 14th, 2007 at 2:37 pm
LBrady 7: you really are dumb fuck cunt eh? I repeat: unless you can actuall prove I ‘change’ my user name (which has strangely been the same for the past week and a bit I been on this blog)….time to run home to mama and get her to wipe the runny poo from your crack. Dickhead.
Bet you don’t even fucking know who Brady is. If you DID, then you’d know that AW is NOT Arsenal, that Cesc is NOT the club - and that there were more important ppl at the club before papa Wenger turned up to fix your Pampers for you.
Moron.

171. Dick (aka Willy) | June 14th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
MARTIN / MARCUS / MUCUS / CUNT –
– if there’s one thing I can’t stand it’s racism. If you make one more ethnic slur towards me, or any other member of this blog, I swear, I’ll report it (and I ain’t kidding). And I don’t mean to Silvs.
There’s nothing wrong with using adult language on here, but if it crosses over into racism, I ain’t having it. It won’t be difficult to track you IP address or your email address - freedom of speech isn’t against the law, racism is.
Alternatively, you name the spot (ain’t kidding about this either), pick anywhere in London, and I’ll bring some of my “garlic pie” eating members of the French community down to meet you and maybe you can call us a few names to our face. Cunt. Or, turn up yourself, and we’ll have a nice friendly chat. What d’ya reckon??
And FYI, Capello spends money - not thin air. If you read all my question, not just “the available” part, you will realise what everyone else (and yourself) already knows: that you can’t provide an answer.
To be honest, Mucus, you’ve just embarassed yourself on this forum by a) resorting to racism, b) answering my blogs with two measly lines - a clear indication you’re not intelligent enough to enter into debate with pretty much anyone on here, and c) as LBrady 7 said, you gave yourself away mate, no matter how much you try to hide behind a fake name.
Just fucking pray that no one on this forum ever finds out who you really are.
Cunt.
172. Martin Barney | June 14th, 2007 at 2:49 pm
AW nappy-soiling typical conversation/excuse: MONEY.
Ok morons. Explain away then:
Arsenal 0 Everton 0 . Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Arsenal 1 Boro 1 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Arsenal 1 Villa 1 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Arsenal 0 West Ham 1 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Blackburn Rovers 1 Arsenal 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Sheffield United 1 Arsenal 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Man City 1 Arsenal 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Everton 1 Arsenal 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
CSKA 1 Arsenal 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Arsenal 0 CSKA 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
PSV 1 Arsenal 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
Arsenal 0 Newcastle 0 Q: Which club’s team cost more?
If the answers to all the above questions reads ‘ARSENAL’, then LBrady7, Bengal etc..Newsflash: you’re all a bunch of hypocrite cunts and you know fuck all about football. MONEY is not the reason Arsenal were knocked out the CL by PSV (Henry and Akinbayor cost more than their whole team. But then again you didn’t know that did you? twats). MONEY is not the reason Arse surrendered the title race so pathetically.
MONEY is not the reason we were knocked out the FA cup by Rovers.
The REASONS are a mixture of managerial incompetence and a group of players how are no longer motivated by the club they are playing for. A manager who has lost his passion for his job and the club and can no longer be arsed with it. A manager who has no pressure to actually win anything from his spineless board. As long as he makes top 4 for the next 37 seasons, we can happily continue to be ‘in transition’. Innit?
I just wonder what happens if in 10 years from now we have not won a fucking thing still, whether morons like LBrady7, Bengal and DICK will be using excuses about ‘oh we ain’t got money’….That would be funny you see. Cos according to the AW nappy-soilers it’s fine and perfectly acceptable to be useless for the next 5-6 seasons COS IT’S ALL GONNA COME TOGETHER WHEN THE STADIUM IS PAID OFF AND THEN AFTER THAT WE ARE GUARANTEED TROPHIES! YES! IT’S THE LAW OF AVERAGES! THERE’S NO CHANCE OUR BEST PLAYERS WILL LEAVE US DURING THIS ENDLESS TRANSITION AND WE’LL HAVE TO START OVER! NAAAAH NO WAY! ONCE THE DEBT IS ALL PAID OFF WE WILL COMPENSATE FOR YEARS AND YEARS OF PISSING UP A WALL BY WINNING THE CL, PL, FA & CC FOR 4 YEARS RUNNING!!!!
Q: What the fuck is the point of spending 6-7 years going through the motions…for one year of glory?
Answers on a postcard morons.

177. Martin Barney | June 14th, 2007 at 2:58 pm
ron to answer your question (cos u seem like a remotely decent bloke. as opposed to DICK): I propose the board sell Cesc to the highest bdder. No point having uncommitted players in this side. Get about £35-40 mil for him and replace with Denilson. TH should be sold to Inter, who will pay silly money for him.
With those funds, we bid for Eto’o.
AW is given an ultimatum: commit to the Arse or fuck off sharp. Ramos is also a very good alternative as he has won more than AW over 3 years and has spent far, far less money.
Final suggestion: that DICK and LBrady7 get a fuckin brain between’em. DICK has accused me of being a ‘racist’ with no proof or foundation whatsoever. I find that funny coming from a man whose country has just elected a virtual extreme-right candidate as their President. Lmfao. Cunt.

MUCUS - did you dare to ask the question “what’s racist about ‘garlic pie eater’”? I guess “madame la whore” isn’t an ethnic slur, either then? Did I resort to violence? Not yet, I didn’t. As my cousin is in the ploice force and I know for a fact (FOR A FACT) that it wouldn’t be the first time people have been investigated for racist remarks they’ve posted online.
And FYI - your claim that you’re “a quarter French like you” is bullshit, Marcus, because a) I’m half-French you plonk and b) you’re so very clearly not French; if you are, write something on here in French - something original, not something you’ve ripped off a fucking internet site?
AND, twat, if you want a place, I’ll be at Rococo’s in Leicester Square tonight, where I am on most Thursdays. Show up, if you ain’t a pussy. I’ve always got time for a racist fuck like you.

189. Mystery777 | June 14th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
I dont agree with most of what Martin said but I do think he makes a couple of points.
Arsenal has given Fabregas everything…Utter faith when a lot of people laughed at him replacing PV4, a long term contract etc etc and what he has been saying is totally out of order. Same with Henry who I know has given a hell of a lot back but still he should have the decency to do one thing or the other. I totally understood the fact that he wanted to think long and hard about comitting his final few years to Arsenal last year but now after one season to start this all over again is crazy.
Wenger should draw a line under it by asking both of them staright out weather they want to go to Barca. If they do then sell them and reinvest the money know of two top quality players. We will make a huge profit on Fab and henry has already given us his best years so in one way its a win win situation.
190. lionar | June 14th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
Changing the topic after my rude little vent…I apologise but he is and he should.
As far as I understand it the credit facility is not money we will actually spend its just a guarantee against money we spend when we but players in stages its not menat to be directly used. It doesnt mean we only have 40 million for the nxt 10 years it means we have a letter of credit to show that we can which lasts for the next ten years.
Im not sure but I think that means that after we pay a significant amount of the transfer fee up front we have the facitlity available for the next ten years, though Im not sure if that means 40 million per year or what.
191. Martin Barney | June 14th, 2007 at 3:17 pm
Lionar: yawn. Actually I add more to the blog than the collective AW nappy-soiling cock-sucking exercise u got going on here. ‘Yeah let’s allbow down and pray at the AW alter of love. Yes…’ Pathetic.
Lionar, this team ain’t bottlers are they? Ok.
Again, I’m about to prove why cunts like you know nothing about football (what’s the best Lionar’s an armchair fan from India or Singapore?):
CC FINAL: Arsenal go 1-0 up. Several chances to score…Lose 2-1.
PL: Arsenal go 1-0 uo away at Chavski…only need t hold out for an extra 2 minutes…concede 1-1.
PL: Arse waste chance after chance in a key game at Upton park….West Ham tuck their only chance away. Lose 1-0.
PL” Must-win game at Sheffield. Arse and Craptista scuff a series of moves…Lose 1-0 with an outfield player in goal.
PL: Away at Bolton Arse are simply blown away 3-1. )Yeah they showed great ‘bottle’ coming back from that innit?)
CL: Home to CSKA. Key match: miss 100 chances. Draw 0-0
PL: Away at Man City. First game of new season (I was there Lionar while you were trying to get your internet stream working cunt): miss a catalogue of chances. Lose 1-0.
PL: Home to West Ham. Everything to prove. Miss another 100 chances, Lose 1-0 and even with a whole half to score…still can;t get back into it.
CL: Worst side in the competition PSV. Not Milan…Inter…Valencia…Real…Barce. No. P.S. Fucking V.
Arse dominate first half in their last chance of winning a major competition for the season. Lose 1-0.
Arse have a whole 135 mins+ to turn the tie round against a rubbish team (who Pol thrashed). Plenty of time then eh? Can only score through an o.g. And surprise surprise: Arse concede a last-minute goal from a set-piece free-kick.
Great ‘bottle’ there eh?
PL: Home to Chavski. A penalty, a man up and a goal up. Chavski proceed to dominate the rest of the match, come back into it and almost win it. Showing that AW has a bunch of players with no motivation, no commtiment, no spirit and no bottle.
To cap it all off, a bunch of Gooner sitting behind me embarrass the whole club’s name by singing: ”Liverpool’.
Pathetic. Just like the spuds. Sad.
Q: What did we win then?
Course you’re a cunt Lionar. Go on sod off….You got schooled.
DICK: ‘Madame La Whore’ is NOT an ethinc slur you dickhead. Your English really isn’t any good is it? In case you are still in any doubt as to what it means then allow me to spell it out for you: I was calling your mum a slut. Happy?
Name the time and place cock-end.

Yes we lost against the run of play against West Ham thats not bottoling it its called not taking your chances and bad luck. The only example you give of bottoling it is just crap.
You go on and on like a machine about how were crap in every way how Wenger has ruined everything the other day you said George Graham was a better manager I think George Graham wouldv struggled to argue that one let alone believe it but you manage. You are one of lifes proud idiots.

The part Lionar FORGETS to mention if u wanna talk about the CL final: Arse go 1-0 up. sure. Turncoat back-stabber Thierry Henry fluffs a piss-easy chance. All Arse need to do anyway is defend properly and hold on fpr 11 minutes more and we’re champs of Europe. In true AW-fashion Arse BOTTLE IT. Henry scuffs his chances and sulks like a petulant cunt afterwards…..And Barca go ahead and pierce our paper-thin sand-castle defence.
Final score: Barca 2 Arse 1
CUNT! You couldn’t have picked a worse argument. That was THE ultimate bottle-job. Moron…
199. Martin Barney | June 14th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
I can happily ignore the AW nappy-soilers - so long as those morons don’t star going off on one the minute someone says AW might actually not be that Great a manager. They all like to shit their huggies the minute AW is questioned. Its pathetic. So long as they stop moaning about ‘money’ and ‘RVP and Henry injuries’…and acknowledge that AW has ballsed-up mega and so has the board…then I am willing to leave off AW a while.
Oh. and so long as those morons appreciate that everyone is entitled to a different opinion without having arse holes coming down here and calling u names….
200. lionar | June 14th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Why do you even bother to show up here Martin you obviously have nothing constuctive to say and no onereally wants to hear what you have to say, coz its all a load of crap.
I tried to be polite and humour you but your just way too annoying to stand. According to you it all doom and gloom you cnt see the promise of our team you dnt get that all we need is a few really good players, what is supporting a team without believing in that team. I mean if Man City fans can support thier team through thick and thin why cnt you after what two season without a trophy hell Id say only last season was a real downer but event then Im cheered by the emergance of so many exciting young players.
Fulham at home it should be a rampage I reckon we go back to our status quo of kicking the shite out of Fulham

Outside the ground though I can criticize these overpaid dicks all I like. And wankers like u are nobody to deny me the privilege. Tosser. Easy for a dick like u to talk: you never go games. So now sod off. Ta.
Like I said: it has become obvious that 90% of ppl on this blog are AW glory-hunters.only started supporting the club in 1998. After we Doubled up. I hear ppl slating GG…always talking about the club as if it will go under if AW leaves and disintegrate into the ground.. This to me shows the huge lack of understanding of our history pre-Wenger that idiots like DICK have (strangely gone quiet now. See you Thursday moron). AW is a top coach and I’ve said as much. But these gloryhunters that have attached themselves to out club now…and act as if there was no Arsenal before papa Wenger turned up to’save it’…Fuck me what a crock.

Ron you are of course right I promise to stop goin on at the nice gentleman. But I just want to make one point most teams would not have had ‘the bottle’ to score against Barcelona all things being equal never mind with tem men and going the better part of an hour without conceding to an excellent Barcelona team was labeled by the rest of the world as a valiant effort well except of course for you…
My problem with you is that you have nothing positive to say everything youv ever said has retty much being negative and i just got fed up with it.
Everyone else managed to comment in a civilised and mature way and Im only sorry I sank down to your level out of sheer irritation and frustration. Every other Arsenal fan is convinced your a bored Spud/Chelski/Man U supporter so I shall treat you as such henceforth, no matter how truely stupid your comments are.

Don;t let the facts get in the way of a stupid rose-tinted rant though….P.S It shows the typical rose-tinted stupidity. The minute you won’t crawl up AW’s arse-hole? You’re a Spud/Chav/United….! Brilliant!
I see yesterday Charlie Nic called AW a ‘cult’ and questioned his suitability for the job. Q: Guess he must also be a Spud/Chav etc…..silly AW nappy-soiling dicks…

Ok my problem with your view of Graham is the fact that the man stole money from the club I love that more than taints him in my view. So how you can expect me not ot get annoyed when you go on about Graham is completely beyond me.
Also if we are all a bunch of glory seekers then how come we are more supportive of the club when its going through a bad patch than you oh long serving long suffering fan? We go through a bad period and your spitting out your dummy!
By all means criticise but at leat make it reasonable, we get to the finals of the CL do you congratulate/celebrate this feat nope weve been shit for three years never mind we beat Juve on the way there never mind we beat Real on the way there never mind we didnt concede for ten matches setting a record, no the same team that achieved that are bottlers!
By all means criticise Ron does Little Dutch does Liam Brady has but for God sake make it reasoned argument.

‘Every other Arsenal fan is convinced your a bored Spud/Chelski/Man U supporter’
True. And every Arsenal fan is also convinced that ‘Arsene Knows’…that ‘with RVP and Henry fit that we will win the Treble’… that AW is a perfect Greek God….that AW always gets his tactics right and is one of the top 3 coaches in world football (despite 0 Euro trophies..)
So if TAHT’s the level of conviction…then I’ll take it! Lol.
212. Martin Barney | June 14th, 2007 at 3:54 pm
GG is a BETTER manager than AW.
If you cannot see that a man that has:
a) Spent less than AW
b) Won every single trophy - League cup (majorhonour back then), FA cup, League AND European trophy (AW can only have wet dreams about Europe)…then it shows you know nothing about this club
c) AW won more trophies? Yeah? Tell me: how much more cash did he have to spend? And why do you think he was able to have the platform for that success? GG IS WHY you moron…
But like I said. To all you glory-hunters, Arsenal FC only began to exist in 1998 AW (After Wenger)….
He ’stole’ money from the club? And our directors and board don’t do the same? Where’s the Vieira cash? The cash from saving on all the high-earners we off-loaded like Wiltord? Pires? Paddy? Bergy? Kanu? etc…only so long you can use that stadium as an excuse. And remember. We started cost-cutting long befre the stadium arrived oor was even talked about.

Yes Espanyol were also playing Barcleona in the CL final which they got to through the above route consitently beating some of the best Europe had to offer? Or maybe they didnt. Yes you right my argument wasnt as well reasoned as yours…
Ok enough Im bored of talking to you Charlie makes more sense than you do I may disagree with him but you dnt see everybody insulting his intelligence and telling him to go away do you.

Lionar: it took Wenger TEN FUCKING YEARS to make one final.
When all along he’s had players like
Petit…Vieira…Henry…Pires..Bergkamp…Ljungberg…Ok forget final - he hadn’t EVEN made a SEMI before that. THAT my friend, is incompetence. So what. You expect me to congratulate the man for FINALLY having a freak season (lucky dip) and contriving to LOSE the only chance we will EVER have of that trophy under him?
And now you still cannot see why I call some of you lot nappy-soilers? A man takes 10 years to LOSE a European final…and he is expected to get an MBE and an open-top bus street parade, Pathetic. You are asking me to reward failure? Nah sorry mate. Had he WON it I would have given him congrats.
Remember: GG won a Euro trophy with a team that cost far far less than papa Wenger. And he WON. Give GG 10 years to win a CL and I guarantee he does a better job than Wenger, Our European record is a disgrace. Is it any wonder big teams think they can pick our players off every summer?
And btw - AW reverted to type in Europe this season. Showing that last season was a freak. Went out to PSV…wow what a team they are.
216. Little Dutch | June 14th, 2007 at 4:05 pm
Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but does anyone else think the use of Djourou, Walcott and Denilson in the publicity shots of the new kit might be Arsenal’s way of saying, “we’re a bit broke, we’re having to go with youngsters, deal with it.” Plus the fact that the new end of season DVD is called Young Guns?
217. lionar | June 14th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
Oh my God!
Were is the evidence for this ’stealing’ you claim? there is none.
Happilly we dnt live in the republic of Martin instead in Britain today people have to actually be proven guilty and until then they are presumed innocent.
George Graham was found guitly of stealing from this club, so this is the golden reocrd that Arsene buit on was it, or was it the sound financial legacy the very same club you just accused of stealing left behind.
Anyway this is a pointless discussion Ron I bow to your wisdom, there is no point talking to Martin here.

Lionar:
‘Also if we are all a bunch of glory seekers then how come we are more supportive of the club when its going through a bad patch than you oh long serving long suffering fan?’
The true fans are the ones who fork out, attend matches, and cheer WHEN IN THE GROUND. I can bitch all I want on a Blog - so long as I don’t boo the team or slate’em at the Grove. Which I never do. Don’t like it? Tough.
The plastic fans are the ones who never actually go matches (90% of this blog then), constantly thinks it currys favour and makes them look like true fans by repeating and bleating ‘Arsene Knows’, refuse to acknowledge the true reality of certain situations - and begin hurling abuse at fans that actually pay good money to attend matches and ARE the lifeblood of this club.
Who givesa fuck what a load of net geeks think? You are nobody to tell me how I should support my club.
I do not like the fact that Arsene Wenger has turned Arsenal into a Wenger-worship school or as it’s known these days:
‘ARSENE WENGER F.C’.
This detracts from the actual prestige of our club. I hate the fact that players that know fuck all about the history of our club join. Like Henry, Vieira and co. I hate the fact AW continues to draw uncommitted players like Overmars, Anelka, Petit, Cesc and Henry to the club.
I also despie the fact that AW has blinded certain fans to the fact that this club lived before him and canlive without him.
I think our record in Europe is a disgrace and that AW is the master of one-offs: one-off unbeaten season, one-off Double - which he could not follow up the following season with ANYTHING. Fair play for the Double after that one. Europe? Disgrace.

Martin who found these players? A fluke we didnt conceed for ten games we set a new record for consitent defending! Graham is a proven thief! Stil I dnt think you will ever see the full picture only the dark side of things.

“DICK has accused me of being a ‘racist’ with no proof or foundation whatsoever. I find that funny coming from a man whose country has just elected a virtual extreme-right candidate as their President. Lmfao. Cunt.”
If the above isn’t racist, then what is?? Also, TWAT, why say “from a man whose country” if you yourself are ‘allegedly’ a quarter French?? If your lie is the truth, then it’s your country too, you fucking plonk!
Also, that pathetic bit of French you ripped off the web, “Nique ta mere espece de connard”, traslates to ‘fuck your mother you idiot’. WOW! You MUST be French if you can say that!! Clever! Now try writing a whole post and making your points in French, you twat. What a joke you are. You’re about as French as Gonzalo Higuain (if you even understand what that means). That’s so pathetic, pretending to be something you’re not. I actually feel sorry for you.
Can I also point out that “madame la whore” is NOT French for ‘your mum is a whore’. The correct phrase is “ta mere est une putain” you PRICK! And if your “vas-y nique ta race” is an attempt to say ‘get fucked by your race’, again, you’re saying it WRONG. And I won’t provide you with the correct translation you racist cunt. Nooooo, you’re not racist are you. I swear, if I ever get hold of you, I’ll turn you into a weeping fucking child.
And Rococo’s is NOT a gay bar, and you know it ain’t. You’re just making excuses not to show up tonight. You keep making the point about GG winning a European trophy and AW failing to do so but fail to mention that he that he blew it big-time in his one shot at the European Cup. We didnt even make it past the 2nd round and he admitted later that he fucked up against Benfica.
Fair enough he won the Cup winners cup and it was a great achievement with the shite players he had at the time but that competition was scrapped a couple of years later because it was so weak.

people, do u think wenger and i are stupid?
i will be back, arsene will stay for at least 5 more years too, please dont tell the press though, let them keep arsenal in the spotlight, its good PR.
in sept 2009 i will pay 75m of the 260m debt with the sale of highbury, we will put the extra £45m of the new tv money in as well leaving us owing £140m. I’ll then remortgage and only have to pay back about £8m a year for 10 years cos we’ll sell the naming rights of our stadium for another 100m which will wipe out our debt. I’ll reward arsene for saving our arses for doing things on the cheap for a few years by giving him an annual budget of £60m a season cos of all the new tv money, matchday income, sponsorship and prize money we will be making £120m + a year. Not only will i be knighted for being such a great businessman myself and Big Stan are going to make arsenal the biggest club in the world(i told him the shares would be cheap at 7000k).
Have patience peasants for not only will I be Sir David Dein to you and be extremely rich, we will win the european cup every year and I will get a show on BBC called the new apprentice. hahahahahahahahahahaha

LIONAR - I would have Torres because he is much, much younger and could link up well with Fabregas. I think if there was another Spanish player at Arsenal, Fabregas would feel more settled.
However, Torres will be considerably more expensive than Trezeguet, and for a short-term fix I think Trezeguet would play very well with Henry.
I didn’t see the Holland u21 game, no. I hope to catch the England v Italy game, tho. Pazzini looks a very good player.
WHY DID WE SELL LUPOLI???!!!!!!!

Arsenal transfers summer of 2007
IN
Giampaolo Pazzini £6m
Fernando Torres £5m + Reyes
Juan Roman Riquelme £15m
Lionel Messi £5m
OUT
Baptista
Reyes
Thierry Henry £40m
Hleb £3m
Lehmann £2m - although unlikey
252. Rohan | June 14th, 2007 at 6:12 pm
5m Messi…ooooooookkkkkkkk. And we don’t need a “hard-working” attacking mid in Riquelme - we have too many people there.
Henry is not going (for that price anyway)
Hleb is not going (for that price)
Lehmann is not going.

258. Rizla | June 15th, 2007 at 12:24 am
I have just read through every single post on this thread. Very entertaining stuff indeed!
So, does anyone know what happened between our 2 fellow gooners (Martin and Dick, in case you didn’t know) from across the channel?
Guys, surely there are better ways to settle a disagreement than fisty-cuffs? (er, that sounds like something dirty, doesn’t it?) I mean, a nice game of dominoes or darts is a more civilised way of resolving your ‘differences’.
Or perhaps something more physical like badminton/squash in order to get all that rage out of your systems. Failing that, smoke a little skunk and you won’t be in the mood to swing a revolving door, let alone a fist. Well, it works for me!!!
I hope the ‘fight’ didn’t happen because we can’t have gooners beating each other up. Save it for the Spuds/Chavs/Scousers/Mancs. If the two lads did ‘get it on’, has anyone captured any footage?
Not that I want to see the violence, or anything. Just curious to know the result (and you all know that you want to as well. Go on. Admit it!).
Maybe sees you later. Maybe not. Peace!
259. ey | June 15th, 2007 at 12:32 am
Have all of you slit your wrists yet over all the “turmoil”?
PS, babel is a faster, less-talented version of Hleb. Cuts inside, can’t cross, and barely scores (5 goals in 30+ apps). So stop wanking over him.

like fuck mate. doesnt replace vieira by signing a defensive mid and we been paying for it ever since. cesc? oh yea he sure repaid our loyalty. cint’s off to join th14 in barce this summer or next. wenger that utter bastard has screwed this club whether some of u’se admit it or not. we are now officially a SELLING CLUB for real and barca. proof? overmars, petit, anelka, henry now…wenger might as well just FUCK OFF and coach barce. that way he can just sign up the players direct without having to go through arsenal. wenger has lost all my respect. a liar. he fucked this club the day he sold vieira. then he released world-class experience in pires. then as if the idiot don’t learn…he then releases lauren. now? he’s let henry go. and wait and see how we live to regret that one. barce gonna pay us £20 million quid? SO FUCKING WOT? WENGER WILL NOT SPEND IT ANYWAY. WILL GO AND GET SOME 15 YEAR-OLD TO REPLACE HENRY. CAN’T U LOT SEE HOW BACKWARDS THIS CLUB IS GOING BECAUSE OF THIS BOARD AND WENGER?? ain’t so fucking hard to see…wot a fucking joke, pathetic. we’ll get money off barca but the only way we can replace thierry is by signing eto or kaka. ha ha ha ha ha. cant even get ribery…
if wenger lets henry go just cos that turncoat cunt doesn’t fancy his team….wenger has shown the ultimate lack of ambition. henry also brings shitload of commercial revenue to our club less u forget. and for a club allegedly ’so skint’…i find it remarkable they’d sell their main marketing tool SO DAM CHEAP. £20 mil? remember when AW sold paddy v and we were all certain he’d replace him? wot’d wenger do? thats right. brought in a fucking cunt kid like cesc. i am tired of this shit. wenger has done good shit but he shoulda gone after last season. if he cares about this club he’ll fuck off now. cos face it. he won’t be here after next season anyway. man’s an old fool whose gone stale. juande ramos in PLEASE. asap.

“can guarantee it.’ lying arse hole. wenger has been in negotiations with barce over selling to them our best player.”
I guess henry can live in the house he ALREADY bought last year in Barcelona (according to the Sun)
And his SON (?) can go to a school Henry found in Barcelona (according to marca)
And we have signed Babel, trez, Sagnol, Yaya Toure, Eto’o, Torres, Ribery, malouda, etc,etc (all said to have been close to sgining in the last year by various tabloids)
Marcus, you are still a tit.
Henry’s behavior is making me rather angry, yes, but chill the fuck out and stop pissing yourself when you read the tabloids. FFS

On to another topic:
I don’t think it’s healthy that we buy players to keep other players happy. Gallas was brought in to keep Henry happy last year, and this year’s links follow the same trend. Ribery, Malouda, Trezeuget are all Henry’s friends, Babel is van Persie’s, and we’re even linked (unlikely) with Torres to keep Cesc happy.
Granted, these are all high-quality players who would improve the squad, but to an outsider, it doesn’t look good. Is Arsene Wenger beholden to the whims of his star players? And does it cause him to overlook better alternatives (e.g. Anelka please)?

267. Adam | June 15th, 2007 at 2:49 am
Ey you are right that we should not believe everything you read in the tabs. True. But something is definitely fishy at the Arse and Wenger WAS in Paris last night and apparently l’Equipe have the pics to prove it? I am getting fed up. Not because of the tabs - but because we give the tabs an excuse to re-hash this same old shit every fucking summer because of our PR-department, the lack of ambition in the transfer market…and AW’s secrecy. It goes like this:
Cunt 1:
”I hope to stay for as long as my legs can keep running. I could not face leaving the fans I love them. They are like my family and how could i face leaving them?”
Thierry Henry. May 18 2006 = CUNT!
268. Adam | June 15th, 2007 at 2:50 am
Liar 1:
”I can absolutely 100% guarantee that Thierry Henry will start next season with Arsenal. You have my word. 100%”
June 5, 2007.
June 14, 2007: Arsene Wenger meets with Barcelona delegate Ferran Sorian in a West Paris hotel to discuss the transfer of Thierry Henry for £20 million. = LIAR!
Question. How do you strengthen your team enough to signal your intent in Europe? Why sell them…YOUR CAPTAIN AND BEST PLAYER! AND LET THEM KEEP ETO’O TOO! SO THAT WAY, THEY HAVE HENRY…ETO’O…MESSI…RONALDINHO….and you can keep Akinbayor and SUNU!

270. Adam | June 15th, 2007 at 2:51 am
Basically lemme get this straight: Arsene Wenger continues to bemoan our ‘lack of experience’ as the main factor for us being pretty mediocre…But then could this be the same Arsene Wenger that goes ahead and releases Pires, Vieira, Henry and co…and brings in NOTHING? Really?
I am sorry but I have just about had enough of this shit. AFC are taking liberties and making us pay the highest prices in the league to watch a glorified youth team. Well enough is enough. I will vote with my wallet and they can fucking stuff themselves. My £1,200 quid WILL be refunded asap. That is quite enough piss-taking for 4 years thank you very much.
If any of you indoctrinated AW cult-followers feel taken in by this scam then fair play to you. You can dress it up as ‘loyalty’ or ‘fandom’ all you like. Realise though that football is a business and I am going to treat is as such. And as a consumer I am being royally shafted by this scammy product: it has a Harrods price on the label. But in reality…it comes from BHS Kiddies’ section. Pathetic.
Like I said: enough is enough. Selling Henry has been the last straw for me. Marcus yes, he’a a bit of a nut-case but he has a fair point: Arsene Wenger LIED. He has been photographed meeting with the Barca financial director Ferriano in a Paris hotel. This is the same Arsene Wenger who asked us to ‘trust him’ after the Vieira sale. He fucked that up and abused our trust. And this is the same Arsene Wenger that refuses to learn his lesson and releases probably the best player in the world at a knock-down price.
This transfer has all the echoes of Vieira: our 29 year-old captain getting sold to spain A SEASON TOO LATE…and arse missing oit on potentially an extra £30 million (barce offered up to £50m last year DD said -remember?).
But yet some Apologist fuckwits come on the blog EVERY DAY pleading poverty. ‘Ah we’re skint’…’ah we’ve got no cash’… well here’s an alternative theory for you: if our manager, with his so-called economics degree, actually had a fucking clue in that dilated brain of his we would have: a) Had an extra £20 mil from the Vieira sale b) Had an extra £30 mil fron the Henry sale. That would have also given us an extra season to rebuild the squad with fresh players.
271. ey | June 15th, 2007 at 2:52 am
“AND LET THEM KEEP ETO’O TOO! SO THAT WAY, THEY HAVE HENRY…ETO’O…MESSI…RONALDINHO”
hey genious, how the fuck are they going to play ALL of them?
Either Henry to barca is bollocks, or one of the other three is leaving.
272. ey | June 15th, 2007 at 2:55 am
Oh, and France Football, one of the most reputable football magazines in the world, fucked up when they printed the Henry to Barca story, claiming it was 100% certain. L’Equipe claim they have photos? Well, fuck off until they show pphotos. Fucks sake people….
273. Adam | June 15th, 2007 at 3:01 am
As it stands, with Henry being sold…all the players’ heads will go down. Akinbayor will miss his dance partner…Rosicky signed to play with Henry - who knows what he’ll do…all the young players will see their idol leave…Our rivals will laugh their arses off at us. And most important of all: Wenger will not replace him with world-class quality. AW will go for the cheap underage option again. To replace Thierry Fucking Henry.
What is going on with this club? Why is it run like such a shambles? I think the blame basically goes like this:
1) Wenger takes 40%
2) The board take 50%
3) The fans take 10% as Arse fans seem to be the only ones out of so-called ‘top teams’…that seem to be ready to make excuses for and readily accept, failure. So there is no pressure to win trophies at Arsenal - and this demotivates any world-class players we eventually get. Proof is there.
AW’s methods might have brought us world-class players like Vieira, Overmars, Henry and Anelka: but WHAT IS THE POINT if they all end up leaving because of our lack of ambition? Can you lot not SEE that AW is precisely the reason these players leave? Even Anelka, Overmars and Henry all lost belief in him. But yet some dreamy crazy folk are still willing to bleat in their brainwashed manner: ‘Arsene Knows’.
Pathetic. Well fuck this anyway. I’m done with this shit. Only the gormless sheep will be left behind to revel in the cult.
£20 mil? £20 mil? What the FUCK are we supposed to do with £20 mil? Ah well…there’a always DARREN BENT. Fed up with this shit. We can continue to make all the excuses we want but ultimately, the reason we’ve been shit for 3 years is simple: Wenger. Uncommitted squad of players with no British core, no spirit, no heart, no bottle, no stability and of course…the board.
Moving from Highbury now looks the most pathetic, unprepared plan EVER. Ridiculous. Not worth it if we continue to be uncompetitive for years on end: it means top players will not join (not a single top player has joined Arse in 3 years). It means that while we are ‘in perpetual transition’, that only the truly truly loyal players will stay and stick with the club. And they are?….Ah yes.
There AREN’T any. We moved from Highbury…where we were successful in order to see in a new era of unprecedented success…and it seems we have ushered in unprecedented shite. I really love Arsene. Really do.
But although you all cuss Mucus I gotta say…he makes some valid points. I have lost all faith in AW and this board. In 3 years, you are supposed to see some improvement. I have seen absolutely none. We will go into next season yet again, not expecting to be in the mix. And what winds me up is to hear Wenger say: ”I think we can be the SURPRISE team”.
SURPRISE? A guy that ludcirously claimed his aim to make us the biggest club in the world by 2008 talks of us as a SURPRISE packaga? Really? When Barca and Milan play…are they SURPRISE teams? Is that how far we’ve sunk? Are we now mere underdogs whilst Liverpool and the Mancs are big boys? Mucus may be an angry git but he had a very good point: after he sold Pat he said ‘trust me’. I did. He let the club down. And no with Henry? The ONLY player out there we can replace a player of Henry’s quality with, is Eto’o.
Anything less and Wenger should get on his bike and the board should step aside (won’t happen I know).
We have lost too much quality and experience: Pires, Vieira, Lauren, Edu, Sol, Cunt…and replaced them with a bunch of no-hopers with no heart for the fight: Rosicky, Hleb, Cesc, injury-prone RVP… It didn;t need to be this way. Wenger has made monumental errors from which our club may never recover. Next season? MORE transition. When does it fucking end?
274. Adam | June 15th, 2007 at 3:02 am
Ey: why do you get abusive for no reason? Does it make you feel like a big man??
275. DJ Ak-B | June 15th, 2007 at 3:09 am
Wow! Just finished Adam’s comments. Weird one. I have to say that me love AW but…he has made too many mistakes. And if he sells TH14 it’s the ultimate one. AW makes it too easy for players to leave. Drogba wanted to leave Chav last season…Mourinho forced hom to stay - and look at the season he had! AW is too SOFT! And the best point made today was by Adam which many of u overlook: people carry on talking about our crap finances. But they forget that Wenger was extremely weak on the Vieira transfer and cost the club £20 million extra. And he was just as weak last summer by signing up TH14 even though Henry’s heart is clearly no longer in it. And THEN…AW goes on about ‘no experience’…Well. DUH! You keep SELLING all our experience when they hit 30! It’s a pathetic policy and it will never work.
Like Adam said we can talk all we like but since Vieira left and AW tried to persuad himself he could do it all with kids it’s backfired mega. And seriously. All this talk about how once the stadium is paid off ‘we’ll be back up there’…Says who? What if all our best players leave in between (looking likely).
People seem to not understand that for us to be ‘up there’ when the debts are paid off, we need to have top players. And it won’t matter how much cash we got by then: if we are a team that’s gone 8 years without so much as a league challenge…let alone a CL one….Who the fuck will join? Babel?? Wow. It’s really come to sthg at Arse when guys are getting excited over some overhyped Dutch kid with a crap goal record…

277. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 3:57 am
Adam, read your comment. So do u want the sale or not? 1 moment u slat AW for selling our most experience player and Captain, the other moment, you curse him for not selling him last season for 20Mil more. Come on…like martin (hope he get beat out of the shit by Dick), you dun actually know what you are talking about.
I m supportive of AW so if he sells Henry i trust him. And you think AW will let Henry go without Eto coming? Like last yr, he sold Cunt but make fucking sure that Gallas comes the other way.
Beckham was MANU thru and thru but his heart is no longer there, Fergie was ruthless, irregardless if he has the best freekick in the world.
Same thing happened to Vieira we all know how he was going thru the motion thinking of only REAL REAL REAL. Same thing happened right after CL final. Henry has only Barca on his mind and selling him might be the best thing.
If you are not going to watch the team next season then good luck for the guy who got your ticket.
278. ey | June 15th, 2007 at 3:59 am
Eh? How did I offend you? By using the word “fuck”? Apologies then for insulting your sensibilities…
My grip is with knee-jerk reactions, lack of objectivity and the readiness to rip into any player as soon as some red top tells us they’re off.
Listen, I don’t like the possible meaning of Thierry’s comments. But the only people who know anything about this are Arsene, Henry, Henry’s agents, and maybe Barcelona. That’s it. Not the Times, not the Grauniad, not the Sun, NOTW, Daily Mail, France Football, etc, etc.
I hate the summer. Really do. Why? Newspapers. They make money mainly off of politics and football. With no real football in England, these cunts keep publishing stories about our players. Did you see the pieces about Gallas. He’s not my favourtie, but he was so badly misquoted he should have sued for libel.
Asking for a player to be disemboweled b/c a red top told you they are leaving is foolish. OK? what makes me angry the most is that some people quote this rubbish as gospel, repeating it time after time, after time…
Read Little Dutch’s piece in Vital Arsenal about the media, he’s put in a much more eloquent and expansive manner.
That being said, and I said this before, I don’t like Thierry’s and Cesc’s attitudes. But this is a fan speaking. Players want stability. Cesc’s only manager is Arsene. First and so far only manger. This year, Chelsea’s key players told Roman (in the press) that they would leave if Henry and Cesc said as much, but in a subtler way. Not trying to condone this, just trying to compare two situations for the sake of the doom mongers.
Another things…all the people calling for the manager’s head? Are you lot fucking insane?
I was talking to this Serb on the guardian football blog. This guy has been watching football since the days of Red Star’s dominance in Europe, Real Madrid’s team with Puskas and Di Steffano. He’s the most respected blogger out of an international community of bloggers. Knows his football. So I asked him which club/manager has the most visionary approach to club development. He said, no, not Lippi, Jose, Rafa, etc, but Arsene and Arsenal. It’s very risky what he is trying to do. But if it works…a continuous line of gifted young players coming though the academy, big stadium that gets the highest gate receipts in the world, brilliant structuring, etc.
And this is the most garring thing-people hold up SAF and say “Oh, look, that’s a REAL world class manager, he won the LEAGUE!” Yeah, after going three years without one. And no European runs of note like us. And he bought one player, got his players fit. All the while Liverpool and Chelsea kept buying players. He won the league, and all the fickle bastards who were calling him a senile old man are now ready to build statues for him, praise him.
So if on were to draw lessons from this, what would it be? It think something tot eh effect of “patience is required in football” Sitting with NewsNow open hoping that they will tell you who we will sign is useless. We don’t know, hacks don’t know. How many knew of Vieira? Freddy? Pires? Cesc?
Another thing…so selling Vieira was a mistake? Enjoy the CL run? Could we do this with Vieira? No. his style does not suit the CL. He was a brilliant player, but no more. Time to move on.
279. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 4:11 am
look at rafa at liverpool, whining about the lack of funds for him to buy players. and even if he has money, can he compete with Chelsea and Barca and Real? the answer is no. Which is why he once mentioned that he is JEALOUS of our youth policy, only with a lot of money can you beat an excellent youth policy. Ajax dominated Dutch football and Europe with their YOUTH POLICY. MANU dominated the 90s with YOUTH POLICY, and we will be successful with our YOUTH POLICY. With money, you can temporarily win things, but not dominating. Look at MANU when they start to spend silly money on Veron, Djemba, Rio.
280. Rohan | June 15th, 2007 at 5:47 am

283. Arsene Apologist | June 15th, 2007 at 7:25 am
You realise that the youth policy was a matter of necessity, not choice? If we didn’t move to Emirates, Wenger woud probably have been happy with his previous tactic of recruiting players in their early 20s, and recycling overlooked players from other clubs. And you’ve got to understand, our youth policy (circa 2004) hasn’t delivered anything, so you can’t really say it’s a success (yet).
Fergie was famously about to sacked until he bought Cantona (for a club record fee) and won an FA Cup. And you’ve got to wonder where Becks and co. would’ve been like if they didn’t have Roy Keane in the middle. So, you do need quality purchases to augment the youth policy, someone to act as a catalyst and make the team tick.
Crewe Alexandria are a good example of an excellent youth policy with no money. I don’t want Arsenal to end up like them.
Are some of you posters insomniacs? It’ll certainly explain the paranoia and irritability I’ve been reading. Take soem benzos and try and get some sleep; Arsenal will still be there in the morning.

285. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 8:10 am
apologist, precisely we have to be patience especially now we are burdened with the posh stadium we have. Like you said, we can jolly well stay in Highbury and buy 1 maybe 2 good player per season using the Champions Lg money (League money to pay off wages). But the stadium is to ensure the club can compete LONG TERM.
What AW is doing now is very similar to what fergie did…buy 1-2 super class players to compliment youth players…like Gallas, Rosicky, Gilberto to hopefully guide the likes of Walcott, Senderos, Djourou, Clichy, Eboue, Niklas, RVP…

Hola amigos!
Been away for a break in Catalonia, and, no, I didn’t see Henry while I was there.
A few things;
Why is Wenger saying there aint no money and the board are saying there is?
Does Wenger feel its time to sell the captain? Maybe he thinks he could be a bit of a negative influence, maybe Henry’s ego’s hurt, bless, maybe he’s still pissed off about AW dropping him last season.
I dunno, its early and I wish I was still on holiday!
Morning

Not seen Holland play in the U21s yet, has anybody in Blogland seen Babel play? If so, how he do?

Morning!
I watched the U21’s last night and yes, they should’ve cakewalked it. their main problem was a striker who reminded me in all the wrong ways of the beast; chronic first touch, poor decision making, inability to finish clear-cut chances. He goes by the name of leroy lita….
291. Mavis | June 15th, 2007 at 9:11 am
Hello.
Rural - Was Lita really that bad last night (i didn’t see the game). I saw that sitter he missed - round the goalkeeper and then scuffed it - that was awful! But I actually think he’s quite a promising young player! Normally he’s pretty clinical with his finishing…

I have to say i dnt trust anything comeing out of the French media right now, what with their unwavering allegience to their new Preisdent and the last Henry in negotiations with BArcelona fiasco of a story! Wenger has never ever lied about a transfer before if he believes a player might go he says Im not sure, ealier on this summer he said Henry is not going anywhere.
The fact that the Times simply picked up on l’equipes story says it all about how bored the media are right now. I dnt think hes going anywhere.

valera & fernandes for portugal looked pretty good (2 big black guys with dreadlocks), esp the midfielder…

Babel good news/bad news?

298. ron | June 15th, 2007 at 9:55 am
in the long run, good news, but if henry does go i feel we would need a more experienced player. i would love etoo, but i dont think he will join us.
im a bit surprised that turkish guy joined boro, it’ll be interesting to see how he does in the prem…
299. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 9:57 am
babel,
good news as he is the winger many people hoped to sign and can play up front, cut in too
bad news as he may do a Henry/Cesc if Wenger does not extend his contract
300. Mavis | June 15th, 2007 at 10:03 am
Ron - tuncay? We were being linked with at one point weren’t we? It’s a bit strage that he’d be linked with a great club such as ours and then join a shower of shite like Boro.
I think you’re right about Eto’o as well. Much as a swap deal is being touted about between him and Henry, he doesn’t want to leave Barca and it’s pretty sad to say, but at the moment joining Arsenal would be a bit of a climb down. If he did leave, he’d be more likely to go to United, AC Milan, or someone like that. He’s another that likes a bit of Wenger though, so you never know!
301. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 10:03 am
if henry does leave there is no way wenger won’t bring in a like-for-like replacement, not that i m not confident w our kids but anymore lowering of the average is going to make me more edgy about the new season
yes mavis, where’s dick and m**tin (dun even wan to spell his name)…
302. Mavis | June 15th, 2007 at 10:09 am
Remember that Walcott is meant to be being ‘groomed’ (possibly a bad choice of words) by Wenger as Henry’s replacement. If Henry leaves this summer though, there is no way that the little man is ready to fill his boots yet, but with Walcott’s development in mind would that mean that Wenger goes for a ‘like for like’ replacement for Henry, or perhaps go for an out and out goalscorer instead??
303. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 10:16 am
we really need an experience striker cos the way i see it none of our forwards are in that category yet, the nearest we’ve got is RVP.
currently the only players we can get and fit this bill are Eto and Torres. 3 yrs contract for new signing and if they leave after contract RVP, Bentner, Walcott will be better equip to lead the line for many yrs to come…its supposed to be Henry’s job sigh
304. lionar | June 15th, 2007 at 10:21 am
Henry will not leave Im certain. The Times picked up this story from l’equipe who have no quotes from anybody just their word that Wenger was in Paris for dinner oh and apparently pictures which they didnt publish (strange that). The Times should know better but theyv really been getting on this story every day theres another story on Henry in their sports section I think they feel theyv discovered a winner of a story and last year they went on about how it was a done deal…only it wasnt.
I trust Wenger enough to believe that if Henry were leaving he wouldv said so, if a player is leaving and Wenger is asked if hers leaving he says Im not sure or its very unlikely hes coming back ala Reyes,Viera et all. Why would it be any different now? Hes said Henry’s staying so Henry’s staying.

if wenger indeed met w a barca official, could it be he is going to steal another baby from their B team? maybe a 11 yr old Kaka…
306. Little Dutch | June 15th, 2007 at 10:27 am
Saying Hnery is staying would be incredibly bad businesss savy if he was looking to sell (which I have long believed he is). You don’t let potential buyers know you’re willing to sell. I really think TH is at the stage where he inhibits the team with his piss poor attitude and, as with Keane at United, he just is more trouble than he’s worth right now. He’s been a great player for us but it’s time to move on and not let his ego destroy a potentially great team.
307. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 10:30 am
LD, makes sense…could even invite AC, Inter to enter a direct bid, like the way Anelka went for 23 mil
308. Ruralgoon | June 15th, 2007 at 10:34 am
Mavis; sorry I took so long getting back to you -actually had to sell some sand!! Lita looked quick and strong enough last night, it ws just that his decision making was poor- the chance he had when he was round the keeper was a no-brainer that he should’ve hit it with his left foot… but no, he used his right and scuffed it well wide. I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt; then he went and struck a class effort with his left!
I know one thing I do like about him, though; His confidence. he missed a penalty the game before, he missed at least three clear cut chances, but he did keep trying to score!
309. lionar | June 15th, 2007 at 10:34 am
Maybe your right and we should let him go, I dnt like soem of the comments hes made in the last couple of days but Id argue that he has been good for the team and they were certainly intially lifted when he came back from injury for a little while last season. ALso you can see how much he means to players like Ade and lets face facts his ego is worth it coz he attracts a lot of talent our way who would love to play with him.
As I said ealier we wnt know till we know.
Id like to see more of this Augosto kid though also does anybody think Torres is expereinced enough to be one of our main strikers?

*FRESH OFF THE PRESS: MARTIN “Marcus” BARNEY BOTTLES IT*
(as if you didn’t already know)
Yes, all, good morning - sorry it’s a bit of a late response, but a bit of a late one last night as I, unlike Martin/Marcus, did show up last night at Rococo’s… and guess what?? Yep, no sign of the Mighty Martin/Marcus/Racist/whatever the fuck his name is. So no, unfortunately, he’s not on here this morning due to the fact he’s in hospital. He’s probably got a GCSE exam or something.
What a pussy.
313. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 11:01 am
MARCUS/MARTIN (whenever you bother to show up on here):
You’re all fucking mouth mate, you didn’t show. I even waited a full HALF AN HOUR close-by the entrance to the toilets. I even went up to a guy who it turned out was waiting for his mates in the gents and asked if he was you! Of course, he wasn’t, because you were probably too busy revising.
Oh well, looks like you’ve proved what we already knew: you’re a complete mug!
Aurevoir.
314. Mavis | June 15th, 2007 at 11:05 am
Dick (aka Willy) - You should have known he’d never show. I can’t believe you wasted half an hours valuable drinking time hanging around by the toilets!

322. Little Dutch | June 15th, 2007 at 11:12 am
I think Hnery’s drop in stock is elucidated by the reasons people are giving for him to stay, like his commercial importance or what other players think of him etc. The fact is, I think it’s come to a stage where he does not work hard for the team at all, he scowls at anyone who dares pass elsewhere and refuses to involve himself in any move that doesn’t immediately pay deference to his ego. H eneeds to go elsewhere because he really thinks he is bigger than the club. His comments about Dein were definitely a step too far.
323. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 11:19 am
MAVIS - yeah, it was a bit of a let-down to waste half-an-hour, but it wasn’t so bad. I was milling about with people anyway and keeping a close eye on the entrance. Most of the people hanging around the entrance tho were girls. Maybe Marcus/Martin isn’t telling us something!! I didn’t let the fact he didn’t show spoil my night, tho. Nevertheless, would have been fun to get my hands on the racist little shit.

Ron, i thought she caught you and Bloggie playing hide the salami?
325. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 11:23 am
TUBES - did feel a bit of a twat, asking someone if he was Martin - but the entrance in Rococo’s isn’t too far from the action anyhow. Like I said to Mavis, there’s always a few people milling round there anyway. I was with a few friends and we had drinks in our hands, so hopefully we didn’t look too sinister.
326. Ruralgoon | June 15th, 2007 at 11:24 am

328. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 11:31 am
LIONAR - I doubt there’s much truth in that (Wenger meeting Barca). Although it was interesting that Wenger quoted in the end of season magazine that the one player he regrets missing out on is Eto’o. I don’t think Henry will leave - but you never know.
I did get a txt this morning though off of a friend who said that Rai Uno, an Italian News Channel, said that Arsenal want to sign Trezeguet from Juventus, but Juve are demanding they do a player exchange — Gilberto for Trezeguet!
If that’s true, what a tough call. If Wenger’s signing Trezeguet, it’s almost certain he wants Henry to stay. But then I really don’t want to lose Gilberto - he was our best player last season.
I guess it’s either Trez and keeping Henry vs keeping Gilberto.
329. ron | June 15th, 2007 at 11:35 am

331. Mavis | June 15th, 2007 at 11:39 am
Fuck losing Gilberto for the past it Trezeguet! Big name signings may appease Henry but I don’t agree to pandering to his demands. Still, If we did, I’m sure we can do better than Trezeguet. I’m sure Henry would be equally impressed by another decent signing, regardless of whether they are his friend.
One quality CF that I’d love us to sign is David Villa, but I’m only dreaming…
332. Mavis | June 15th, 2007 at 11:40 am

The only thing I will not tolerate is slights against my intelligence or the assumption that as a female I know nothig about football. If I don’t know something, I WILL SAY SO OR KEEP SCHTUM. And since you decline the hand of friendship; UP YOURs with razor blades and salt added.
334. Little Dutch | June 15th, 2007 at 11:58 am
This is Arsenal Football Club, not Thierry Henry football club. We as fans have spent so long pandering to him and paying deference to his every whim that we have lost sight of this, and so has the player himself. I don’t give a flying fuck if our transfer activity ‘keeps Henry happy’ or not, I suspect Wenger doesn’t either. I want the players that the manager thinks are right, compare and contrast, Henry’s record in the transfer market versus Wenger’s. If Henry doesn’t trust him (which would be mightily hypocritical given TH’s humble beginnings under Wenger), then he can well and truly do one.
335. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 12:01 pm
MAVIS - I’d love us to sign David Villa too, but he’s just come out and said he wants to stay at Valencia (shame our star striker can’t do the same huh?) - so it looks like the bargain basement again for us.
It’s alleged we have £40m. Obviously, out of that £40m we’ll also have to fund the signing player’s contract. So, say Babel for example, at £6M transfer fee and a three-year deal at £40k a week would be £12M in total.
Here’s who I think we could REALISTICALLY get our hands on and who would add something ’super, super class’ to the team:
VAN DER VAART — great talent; both Henry and Wenger are fans - they were practically sucking his dick in the Hamburg programme. And what a goal he scored that night! Technically a very good player; young, quick, great shot, good dribbling skills. Plus, Hamburg struggled this season in the Bundesliga and didn’t even qualify for the UEFA Cup. Can’t imagine a player of his calibre would want to spend a season without European football.
YAKUBU — not entirely satisfied at Boro, especially now his best buddy Viduka has left. His scoring record in the Premiership is phenomenal - and what’s more he’s scored his goals for average clubs (no disrespect to Portsmouth and Boro fans). Again, young, quick and great in link-up play.
BENNI MCCARTHY — I’ve ALWAYS said McCarthy is severly under-rated, even when he was at Porto. Why Chelsea signed Pizzaro instead of McCarthy I have no idea. He’s publicly come out and said he would leave for a ‘top four’ club. McCarthy is the same age as Trezeguet, 29. If we can go for Trez, I see no reason we can’t go for McCarthy.
MANCINI — the Brazilian winger from Roma; just what we need. Has great pace and amazing skill. I think he’d fill the void of Pires.
DANIEL ALVES — versatile Brazilian; could link up well with Eboue due to his versatility. Alves can play right-back or right-midfield. Wenger was interested in January - we should have moved for him. Would fit our team ethics.
SWP — why not test Chelsea’s resolve?? I’m sure his father would do everything he could to persuade his son to sign for us if we made a move.
336. lionar | June 15th, 2007 at 12:04 pm
Thanks Dick I agree with you it looks like more of the same press drivel to me but as youy say who knows.
Gilberto na I dnt think so besides Treze has said he wants to leave and no contract is possible (now that a definitive Im off) so Juve dnt really have a position from which to bargain really.
337. ron | June 15th, 2007 at 12:06 pm
i agree, henry thank u, but please close the door quitely on the way out

338. lionar | June 15th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
Dick not so sure bout Ian remember he went on about SWP saying he should go to Chelsea and hes encouraged various Arsenal players to move. The rest would be great but which of these do you feel has the most realistic chance of happening?
339. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 12:13 pm
LIONAR - I think Van Der Varrt and Alves are highly realistic bets. I can see us signing someone else as well, possibly YaYa Toure. I think we’ll sign three players.

1) If AW sells Thierry Henry for £20 mil it is a JOKE. Especially when you consider what he couldv’e got for him last season.
2) Despite what some think, AW has a piss-poor record with transfers, and that is the precise reason WHY top club like Real and Barca think we’re mugs, fresh for pickings. He did good with Overmars and Anelka. But since then? Paddy released on the cheap. And now maybe Henry.
3) Henry should only be sold if Eto’o comes. But as Mavis said, Eto joining Arse would be a HUGE step down. Leaving the back-to-back Spanish Champs, European champs and league runners-up of the past 3 seasons….to join a team of juniors who cannot even beat Sheffield away and have won diddly squat. It’s Eto’o or no deal.
4) If AW ballses up this transfer then much as I like the guy he should go. He cost us too much money with Vieira, cost us with Cunt too (I never wanted Gallas. £25 mil woulda been so much more useful)….and Ramos should be considered.
5) Henry has left a huge stain on his Arse career by LYING.
6) AW has spent coming up to 4 seasons in transition without the team showing any improvement in the league and having a one-off cup run (like Milwall. In a final we were were ALWAYS going to lose. 10 men or not). Question is how much longer is this transition suppose to last? 5 years more?

345. lionar | June 15th, 2007 at 12:31 pm
But Van Der Vart is an attacking midfielder/ behind the striker type guy isnt he wouldnt he be competing with others or do you see him in a wing role if so wouldnt he just fall victim to the midifelder converted to winger who comes in too much syndrome?. David Alves do you think we need a right back mre importantly do you think Wenger thinks we need one.
Having said that I think youv got some valuble options here and the fact that theyr flexable must really help. I think its more likely we will go for the spanish fella for Zaragoza forgotn his name now.
346. davey b | June 15th, 2007 at 12:38 pm

347. BengalGooner | June 15th, 2007 at 12:40 pm
Oh dear, if Th has to go he has to go - I think AW can be bit stubborn. For instance he keeps faith in players long after . .whereas Alex Ferguson much more ruthless - he will sell players and move on. I think we need another winger at least I dont think Hleb is effective enough compared to Pires,Lundberg(old) or Overmars.
Alos no way should Gilberto be sold. By the way whats going to happen to the money might receive for TH -disappear into thin air again . . . .

Also, did you not also participate in fixing the fight and yet failed to show? And then you try and fix a fight with him for next season! Ha, ha! What a hypocrite. You’d have been a bigger man if you’d told him there was no way that you’re prepared to have a fight with someone you’d never even met.

Ah ha!
Right;
If we sell Henry and get loads less than we could last year, then that will be just like the Vieira issue all over again. Losing as much as £20 million! How shit is that? If Henry wants to go then why did he piss us all about so much last year? Now he’ll go, for loads less. I think that this time last year, Wenger wouldnt’ve sold him in a million years, but things have changed; He aint undroppable, we can win without him, his influence, presence isn’t 100% positive, esp[ecially when he gives it to the younger players who dare to not pass to him, etc. He is an AFC legend mind, but I just wish it could be done (if it has to) in a simple, quick, unprotracted way.
Is that too much to ask?
And, this time, Wenger needs to have a replacement lined up BEFORE he sells!
The only Eto’o we can afford is a Strawberry Corn-Eto’o!
354. *_Respect Highbury | June 15th, 2007 at 12:53 pm
Hello Gooners, it’s been a while!
Anyway just a few comments. Thierry Henry should definitely be sold as a matter of urgency, but as Arseblogger said, he should be sold according to terms and conditions beneficial to Arsenal football club. Adam’s criticism of Arsene Wenger releasing Vieira a season too late is a valid one - especially for a club so apparently devoid of tangible funds. Any fee of less than a straight £28 million is simply unacceptable.
The thing with a straight cash deal is, it doesn’t really benefit Arsenal in any way, shape or form. Selling Thierry for excessive sums only subsequently alerts other clubs to Arsenal being lavish with fresh funds - and subsequently augments the price of any other signing we wish to make.
I am also going to say something shocking, and that is that I fully agree with Ron. Cesc Fabregas’ attitude leaves a lot to be desired, and I actually think that whilst we are busy in the process of our annual summer sales to the Costa Catalana; Fabregas should go too.
Yes, I know it’s controversial but think about it. Cesc has an 8 year-deal - so realistically, with that much time left on his deal, for a kid of 20, we could certainly extract at least a minimum of £35 million for an international his age.
Most of us agree that Denilson is a suitable replacement, and we even have Diaby that can play alongside Gilberto in tough away games. Furthermore, I am a little enthused by Dick/Willy’s suggestion of Van Der Vaart. If selling Fabregas means we could get a player of that ilk, then I am all for it.
A player like Van Der Vaart would add more goal threat, and render our attacking play more progressive.
Cesc is a fantastic player but he notoriously slows the tempo and passes mostly sideways: through-balls down the middle is what we need. Daveyb think VDV is slow, but I believe he has a great turn of acceleration - and is certainly as fast as Cesc.
LD is 100% correct though that, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal are not in the business of signing players to please one individual. This is patently ridiculous. Wenger should sign who is best for Arsenal, and not an excessively-paid, increasingly-puerile Thierry Henry.
For my money, I agree with Adam that it’s either Eto’o - or nothing at all. We hold all the aces, not Barca and therefore any potential deal has to suit us down to a tee.
Final point: Martin Barney and Dick: I cannot believe the both of you are fixing fights on a blog. Seriously. We are not Milwall Fans here. We are all supposed to support the same team - yet, I see some people attempting to formulate a recreation of the ‘Football Factory’.
I am guessing you people are more educated than that, so please - can we desist from all the childish baiting, name-calling, threats of violence and Rocky-style rendez-vous?
It’s unnecessary. Thanks.

358. Little Dutch | June 15th, 2007 at 12:59 pm
“VAN DER VAART — great talent; both Henry and Wenger are fans -” This is what troubles me, maybe we should appoint Henry as the new director of football? Everyone seems to think he should have a say in our transfers. When everybody is aligning one player with a football club, that player has become too big. Mark my words, Wenger knows this and knows TH’s attitude has been poor for the last two years, he dropped him and it still didn’t stop TH wittering on about boardroom decisions etc. And Real and Barca think we’re mugs in the transfer market? Are you serious? How much did we get for over the hill crocks Petit and Overmars? Let me acquaint you with a little song we used to sing circa 1999, “Real Madrid, Real Madrid, we sold you a cunt for £23m.” Now ask A.C Milan if they think £3m was good business for the sale of Vieira, what did Ancelotti say recently about his decision to sell Henry to us? And I bet Abidjan are chuffed with the £200k and set of goalnets we gave them for Kolo Toure.
359. Dave | June 15th, 2007 at 12:59 pm
My heart says we shoud keep Henry for all what he has done for the club and because the players think they need him also we would possibly end up in a even greater transition if we lose him. Furthermore you don’t want to lose your best players every season, that would be against the ambition of the club moving into a 60′000 seater to compete with the best teams in Europe. On the other hand my mind says that Thierry has crossed line with his recent remarks and is becoming more and more an arrogant cock and a trouble maker. Furthermore he might be passed it, it’s for sure that we have had his best years. In addition we can’t know if it was only due to his knickling injuries that his performances were at times so abysmal last season. Ok he still scored a few goals but he often wasn’t himself and looked a little bit fat and static. But one thing I know for sure, £20m is not acceptable for a player with his qualities.

375 - Great post.
I agree with you about Cesc - i think he over rated — we need goal scoring midfielder.
Also would Henry have been worth more last year bearing in mind he had 1 year left on his contract - i think he is worth a lot more now -financially.
Sell em both and get some quality replacements - AW needs to be more ruthless. I prefer Diaby to Cesc.
As i said b4 hope the money we recieve for Th doesnt disappear into a black hole!
362. Little Dutch | June 15th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
That said, I’d give Cesc another year to sort himself out. Though he’s not ready yet and despite Cesc’s awesome talent, Denilson is a capable replacement. Hopefully AW will have a chat with young Cesc and sort this out. Henry has been on the receiving end of “a chat” and is acting like an arse.
363. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
MARTIN BARNEY - you’re the sad cunt, mate. I haven’t got time for you. You’re not only a racist, you’re also a pussy. Why give it all the large “I don’t fuck about” and then don’t show up?? Like Mavis said, why not say you weren’t gonna show if you think that makes you ‘more of a man’.
Under usual circumstances I would never even entertain the thought of having a fight with somebody because of some shit they spewed on a blog…
HOWEVER… you resorted to RACISM. And that I won’t stand for, not from anyone. You can talk about Sarkozy all you fucking want (funny how you’re French but don’t even know his name). But by doing that, all you’re doing stereotyping me and proving you’re of a racist mindset. YOU CUNT!!
I don’t want Sarkowsi in charge of France - and if you’re a quarter-French (bollocks!), you shouldn’t want him in charge either you fucking camel-turd.
And don’t you dare question whether I showed or not. Don’t forget, I was going to Rococo’s anyway; like I said, I go there most Thursdays with a few mates because I’m busy most Fridays and Saturdays (most of them Saturdays watching Arsenal). I invited YOU to show up. I was there and was always going to be there whether you showed up or not. You didn’t show up. I don’t know why, and frankly, I don’t care. You’ve proved you’re not a worthy opponent if you can agree to show up and then pussy out with childish candour like “did you really think I was gonna show up??” Actually, I thought you were a man, so yes, I did think you’d show.

P.S I believe Henry’s departure will deeply affect the likes of Walcott, Rosicky and Cesc Fabregas - who have all admitted that they would reconsider their futures in the event of him leaving the club.
I really think Wenger should start making every new signings watch a video and learn about the history of the club. Let every new signing watch and learn about Ted Drake, Baker, the legacy of Chapman. Make sure they know about Anfield 89′, Merse, our legendary back-5…because face it: do you think the likes of Fabregas know about all this? Not a chance.
The only thing players like Cesc, Rosicky and Van Persie know is that Arsene Wenger is a top manager and that we have (had) Thierry Henry in our team. That’s it. Therefore, the consistently irritating cries of ‘If Wenger goes…I go’ etc…
Players we sign have to start realizing that they are actually playing for a top CLUB, not just a manager or individual player . However talented. When Dennis Bergkamp joined Arsenal, let me assure you that he did not sign to play for Bruce Rioch or Ian Wright. Bergkamp signed because he knew who Arsenal were, he knew of our legacy and he liked the club.
And subsequently what did we get? A world-class player who showed more professionalism and commitment throughout his career than Henry, Cesc or Vieira - and more so than Ca$hley etc…
AC Milan make sure all the players they sign are made to learn about the legacy of Milan, their history and their culture. Time Wenger started doing the same. One day Arsene Wenger will leave, and players will need to realize that, much like ManUre; they have come to join a big club. Not just a big manager, or big striker.

Afternoon one and all….
Seems all is not well in the Gunnerblog household…
All this talk of fighting really gets the adrenaline pumping… so if anyone want’s a fight…. lets have it.
Or we could get out the “peace pipe”, sit round the campfire, take a few hits and CHILL THE FUCK OUT.
Its Friday…. and that makes me happy

Cant believe it. I’ve been sayin that both their attitudes stink for ages. all that whoreing themselves out to Barca! I think Henry thinks he is bigger than Arsenal. Giving him the captaincy was a big mistake. a swap deal for etoo would certainly be nice. he scores just as many goals and is quite a few years his junior. plus if thierry doesnt want to be here we arent going to get his best anyway. i fear that it is almost like the viera situation already. perhaps last season was the best time to sell him. we dont want another dissapointing year to let new players bed in. and I’ve always had a problem with cesc. great player, absolute dickhead! we should definatley cash in. at the end of the day no matter how good the lad is if any other player talked about another club that much you would all be telling him to piss off! It’s going to be an interesting summer.

LD…Do you remember you and I having a wee chat on Gunnerblog in the aftermath of the Spuds game at the Emirates? I remember you and I both saying that Arsene Wenger carried a face like thunder when pressed on the ’situation’ with Thierry Henry, and that Henry may come to regret having crossed Wenger.
I remember Henry that very morning crowing to the press about how he wanted us to sign Shuan Wright-Phillips. How pathetic. So let me get this straight Thierry: crowing to the Sun about how much you would like you (sorry, us) to sign SWO, is going to help us how exactly?
By alerting the Chavs? By upping his price even more? By conflicting with the wishes of your manager?
It seems the sniper is carrying his special rifle and loading it up with ammo: the AW-TH-14 sniper rifle is ready to fire it appears…. And ok, here’s another little prediction I’lll make: expect Arsenal to have plenty of unrest and trouble-making from a one Mr E Adebayor. Now that Akin-B has lost his dance-partner, I expect him to cause all sorts of shit now. Just you wait and see…

I am NOT an advocate of the Football Factory and do not endorse violence. But I ain’t gonna tolerate ethnic slurs from anyone, and I’m not the only one who was subjected to it, there were others on this blog who were subjected to his racist wrath. The guy is a cunt.
I didn’t go out of my way to ‘fix a fight’ either. Martin told me to ‘name the place’ so I told him where I’d be last night; at Rococo’s, which is where I was planning on going anyway, where I am most Thursday nights. micah richards another youngster after all the moaning thats been done on hear about lack of experience and people suggest micah richards
van der vaart not a winger not quick not direct although i aint sayin any are bad players but clearly do not fit arsenal critirea

Dick: fair enough, but simply let it rest now…Ok?
LD: It reminds me of a replica of the Beckham situation. Henry was always walking a tightrope after that. I suppose what irritates me most were his comments about ‘wanting to stay for as long as my legs can keep running. I could never leave the fans. I love them…they are like my family”.
Why do footballers find it necessary to lie so inanely and treat the rest of us as if we are nothing more than putrid little c***? Really. Henry should never come out with such claptrap if he does not intend to honour his words. Talk is Cheap. And I learned long ago: the last Arsenal player we had that was 100% unquestionably worthy of my full respect, was Dennis Bergkamp. A model pro. Not one Arsenal player has deserved it since - and it has always been the ones we have expected the most of that have let the club down: ‘future captain’ C**tley, ‘captain’ Vieira, ‘captain’ Henry, and ‘future captain’ Cesc Fabregas.
I truly hope that Wenger sees the error of his ways and realises that you cannot simply hand over a captaincy willy-nilly, in a bid to prevent a player form leaving the club.
The captaincy is a mark of leadership, of commitment, courage, desire and heart. It should not ever be a tool for appeasement.

surely most peolpe agree what arsenal need is an adge to there game [more direcct ] a rugged no nonesense centre half [with a little pace]a winger who gets wide and is very direct ,and a centre foward who will bust a gut to get on the end of things[[ ie] a number 9

imagine wenger selling Vieira and Henry one season earlier just to get more money? there will be a riot outside highbury and some will be burning his efigy.
the reason why wenger let vieira go and hopefully henry go is that he feels both players are replacable and their stay will hinder the team spirit and play. Something unthinkable a seaon prior to their sale.
this season, he feels Henry can be a great captain and lead a young team out on a new stadium and fire the team to glory. but, henry was injured most of the time and when he was fit, his heart wasnt there. It happened to Vieira as well.
So what some of u guys here mean we shd sell Cesc for 50million to Real because when his contract is near, we will be losing 20million? Or Gilberto cos he will cost much less next yr. or even clichy or kolo. doesnt make sense at all.

re: VAN DER VAART (the slow coach)
Yes, Van Der Vaart is slow - but Hleb ain’t the quickest either. Given the choice of VDV or Hleb I’ll take the former any day.
Henry is being a cunt, no doubt about it - but do we REALLY want him to leave??
The bottom line is, Wenger is Wenger. You take the good, you have to take the bad too. I can name (in my opinion) Wenger’s mistakes on one hand. I’d need to be a fucking centipede to name all of his successes and accomplishments.
I agree, Pires should NEVER have been sold. I think that Bobby being sold has had a more detrimental effect than when Vieira left (was kicked out). There’s no way we’d have finished third if we had have had a fully fit Pires last season, no way at all.
But to lose Henry now would mean that we’d have lost our best player in the close-season for three seasons running. Look at it; in the past three years we’ve lost: Edu, Wiltord, Cole, Campbell, Vieira, Bergkamp, Pires, Lauren — and now Henry??
With the exception of Wiltord, Edu and Campbell, those players we’re irreplacable. Henry is irreplacable. Eto’o will NOT fill his void. If Eto’o was as good as Henry then why would Barca be looking to replace a 26-year-old Eto’o with a 29-year-old Henry?
We MUST keep Henry if we’re to have ANY chance of winning something next season. As much of a cunt as he may be, and as much as most of his actions are inexcusable - I think that if he begins the season with us and is playing again (remember, by the time the season begins Henry won’t have kicked a ball in a competitive game for near-on 7 months!!) - I believe he will see the error of his ways and realise how wrong he was to want to leave.
He’s owes our club his playing career, no doubt about that. But, equally, after everything he’s done for us, we at least owe him the chance to right his wrongs.

hleb is a lot quicker than van der vaart from what ive seen and its not a choose of who youd prefer its a case of niether is the type of player that is going to solve our problem of lack of width being direct scoring goals from that position do you want to replace hleb with another player who does nt play there either end cannot get past his full back because he s so slow ,we play enough in front of teams as it is thats the whole reason most people want a true winger to get in beehind and stretch teams to open up the game

Eto’o and TH are 2 different types of player. If it was down to strictly playing issues, we would want him to stay (ark at me speaking for everyone) but things have happened, stuff’s been said, yadda yadda… Maybe Wenger feels he can be sold and replaced now, maybe he feels it is better for the club if he is sold, maybe his influence has a detrimental effect on some of the players like, er, RvP for one. Who knows. If we could have a fully fit, focussed and committed Henry for the whole of next season, I’d say, yes please! If not, then maybe it’s time for a clean break, lets hope it is clean too and not dragged out like the Cashley episode.

I dont really know where he would fit in a Barca anyway.
We all know he is best when dropping deep on the left and thats were Ronnie plays at Barca. While I think Henry is an amazing player I think that a lot of his success at Arsenal is how the team is set up for him esp.when Dennis was around. When he is confined to being an out and out striker for France he does not look like the same player.

DAVEY B - agree to an extent about Hleb and Van Der Vaart, but I do think (from what I’ve seen of him) that Van Der Vaart has a better final delivery in the danger-zone. His passing is excellent, whereas Hleb works himself into good positions - only to give the ball away. With VDV though, he seems to be able to deliver from anywhere. Surely that’s more important? What’s the point of working the space if you don’t make the most of it?
I also think Van Der Vaart gets a lot more chalk on his boots than Hleb. Although VDV does typically play behind the strikers, he drifts wide a lot, the the left-wing. On numerous occassions I’ve seen him fire in very threatening balls from this position for Hamburg and Holland.
I think we should either buy back Pires (not joking, seriously think we should) or Mancini.

Toure, Gilberto, Clichy, Senderos…. what have these guys done to fall into your category of not being a model pro? Toure bleeds Arsenal….
Just to answer your question TC: I see what you mean. Kolo, Clichy and Senderos all APPEAR committed for the time being. However, as Daveyb rightly pointed out, can we at least wait until they have hit a peak of exceptional form and consistency for 2-3 seasons before evaluating this please? The reason I say this is simply, because neither of them has - hence, it is far easier to appear committed. They are still trying to establish themselves as world stars.
Vieira, Henry, C**t. Three players who all allegedly lived and breathed Arsenal. All three greatly contributed towards unrest and destabilization within our squad.
The fact is TC, that the time to really evaluate the loyalties of Kolo, Senderos and Clichy; will be when the usual suspects of Real and Barca - come sniffing around them. Let us see how much Kolo loves Arsenal when he is proposed a £120k per week deal by Real. Or how much Clichy loves us when Barca tap him up.
I remember hearing similar comments about one A. Cole in his formative years with Arsenal. Much like Clichy.
But I repeat: the players become blinded by greed and an over-inflated sense of their own worth. This is fuelled by a combination of agents, and the sickening hero-worship of certain fans. Look at Thierry Henry.
‘For Now’ (as TH14 would say), Kolo Toure is a committed and brilliant Arsenal player. However, let us see wha occurs when Real and Barca come sniffing. That is the true test of loyalty.
P.S Ey: no, I will cut Akin-B no slack whatsoever. He is one player that needs to be closely watched and scrutinized.

432. Grovelad | June 15th, 2007 at 2:32 pm
n in case u dont know, i give u a review of the season…
WE WERE LACKING OF FUND COS OF THE NEW STADIA, NO WAY TO BUY PLAYERS JUST TO REPLACE A SLIGHT DIP OF CURRENT PLAYERS
MOST OF THE PLAYERS WERE INJURED AND THE TEAM WERE DEPLETED. EVEN GILBERTO HAD TO PLAY IN DEFENCE
BACKUP ARE YOUNG AND INEXPERIENCE. SO DROPPING KOLO IS NOT PRACTICAL

yap. that’s wot AFC has become. just put up with shit players coz u blv “no one” can replace them!
- -
So what classifys a player as being “shit”?
Toure played in a weakened back 4 for most of the season, he may have made some errors, but it sounds like you are saying he is now a shit player and should be replaced?
Any other shit players that you feel should be replaced?
434. davey b | June 15th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
clubs discard players just as easy as players leave clubs its that simple ian wright was bombed out once i was percieved he had nothing left to offer ,pv4 it goes on every where i mean joey barton might be a toe rag but when he was in trouble a while back city stuck by him and then he apparently wanted to leave and city stated he should be more loyal to the club yet if city did nt thnik he was a good player they would nt have have persisted with him in nad stuck by him anyway in the first place it works both ways

respect we ar not as big a club as Barca, real, milan etc and most players grew up supporting their local teams but would also have a fav team in the world. now up untill recently kids growing up playing footy wouldn have heard of us but the so called brand is spreading and getting bigger, coupled with achievements on the pitch thats how teams popularity grow. - arsenal is a big team but up untill 10 yrs ago our global reach was very minimal but teams like barca, madrid, milan, juve have been around and achieving for what seems like centuries so its not supprising that players have their heads turned by them. Nearly every player in the world would find it hard turning them down thats y a lot of the best players in the world are there. now i dont agree with henries stance and cesc might have said what he did but you have to be real and accept that even ashley cole who was born n bread Arsenal was turned by OUR DOMESTIC rivals who are not as big as us or have as much history (winning trophies). i mean i luv my girl but if the girl of my dreams came calling it would be pretty hard to her her down esp wit the size of them titties!!!!!!

DAVEY B - (re: VDV) fair one mate. It’s a shame we spunked so much money on Walcott. I don’t think he’s anywhere good enough for the Premiership yet. Our AMF options as it stands are: Rosicky, Hleb, Walcott, Ljungberg (not the same player), RVP (better as a striker) and Diaby (better through the middle). That means in truth we only have three out-and-out “wide” players - one of which needs A LOT of time to develop (I think we should Walcott out on a season-long loan - but only to another Premiership club).
Personally I believe we could do with one more wide-man - as you said Davey B - one who can st r e t c h teams (if only we hadn’t have sold Bentley…)
It’s a shame we missed out on Ribery - he would have been perfect. Nasri would be an excellent buy (five years younger than Ribery - and just as good) - but I doubt l’OM will let both of their most prized assets leave in the same summer.
I think it’s a choice between MANCINI, ALVES (can play RM and RB, meaning we could swtich him with Eboue if necessary) or MALOUDA. They’re all I could see us realistically getting our hands on. Tho I would cream my pants if we moved for Nasri - or even better - BENZEMA!!!!!
…What about DUFF?
439. davey b | June 15th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
if i was thierry i would leave ,but thats for the good of arsenal and thierry henry he deserves to achieve things after what hes contributed and arsenal and thierry seem to be growing apart ,what i dont like is what ron said why does he treat the club like a toy and play with peoples emotions because like i said its about keeping your options open whats best for thierry henry not whats best for arsenal football club

439. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
yeah id agree with most of that ,bentley is a real choker we will rue that big time in the coming years he will become a top player im convinced of it
441. Dick (aka Willy) | June 15th, 2007 at 2:54 pm
Yeah. Bentley would’ve played his heart out for us too. He was an Arsenal lad through and through.
442. *_Respects Highbury | June 15th, 2007 at 2:54 pm
Cuzzy very good points, and I agree - except for the case of C***ley. The ‘girl of his dreams’ did not come along. In act, it was a girl in whom he had never ever shown any prior interest, who had always been a bit minging…but who cleaned up with her lottery numbers, got some obscene cash and plenty of fake surgery.
She looks the part for the time being: but her looks and new-found zest are in no way sustainable. Just you wait and see what occurs when old age conflicts with that surgery!
443. davey b | June 15th, 2007 at 2:58 pm
i would nt harp on to much about his loyalty you ll get lynched on here for saying that lol, but he would definetly be more usefull .his atitude is a bit suspect but whose is nt these days TH14,GALLAS,ANELKA,FABREGAS as for eto people say they would love to have him here eto is a bigger trouble causer than anelka who apparently people would nt touch because of his atitude .if there is a cancer in the dressing room eto is the man trust me but all the afore mentioned are top quuality never the less
444. Little Dutch | June 15th, 2007 at 3:09 pm
davey b, personally, I wouldn’t mind a few more arse kickers in the dressing room. Henry is not an arse kicker, but a poouter and a moaner. Gallas, for all the criticism he gets, is exactly what we need. But then again, I want Anelka back! (Though he was more of the quiet sulker, not the interfering whinger TH has become).
445. davey b | June 15th, 2007 at 3:13 pm
i agree LD but i agree with handing out criticism out only if you are doing your job and gallas and henry have both been guilty of handing out criticism when they have been just as responsible ,what do they say theres no i in team lose and win together ,
446. davey b | June 15th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
i mean i know gallas has been injured all season but i have a strong feeling he dragged out his return and if he did does nt say a lot about his desire to suceed with arsenal , no apparently it was nt gallas it was the medical people at arsenal was the reason he was out so long and he did nt feel the need to omitt telling everybody that blaming others and not holding yourself accountable is what thierry has been doing lets not get confussed with outspoken and comitted
447. Rudi | June 15th, 2007 at 3:20 pm
Give Kolo or Gallas the armband if Henry goes. I think Bert is a great player but not really a leader.
448. lionar | June 15th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
Why am I a dick fabz?
449. Little Dutch | June 15th, 2007 at 3:31 pm
Actually Gallas blamed himself just as much as the medical staff, the press omitted that bit. I think Gallas includes himself in any criticism he dishes out, personally I look at Gallas and Gilberto as the leaders of this team, with Gilberto the fatherly reassuring yin to Gallas’ outpsoken yang.
450. davey b | June 15th, 2007 at 3:35 pm
fair enough LD thats all i want to see that were all in it together atitude chelsea and united seem to have the kind of spirit we had in 2004 it would be nice if the lads could pull together and play for each other
451. Keeeeelan | June 15th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
The new white kit is great, iv’e been waiting for an arsenal away kit for ages, finally here!! should have been red instead of burgendy do, but then the colours would be the same as the home strip.
452. Keeeeelan | June 15th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
white arsenal away kit ***
453. Is Henry leaving? DonR&hellip | June 15th, 2007 at 6:21 pm
[...] be some truth in this and maybe he will be off to Barca and playing in red and blue next season (he could also be doing that at Arsenal in our new third shirt). I think any team in the world would be interested in Henry but I’d be very surprised if he [...]
454. akhjfd | June 18th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
I emailed arsenal about this new 3rd kit and they confirmed ‘A’ 3rd kit for next season but they didnt say which 1 it would be ….official details to be released in the next few weeks.
