Is this kit too good to be true?
97 guns March 17th, 2010
It has all the fundamental requirements: red shirt, white sleeves, cannon.
It artfully avoids some of the undesirables: cartoonish new badge, ugly sponsors.
It is almost too good to be true, and if I hadn’t (like arseblog) received it from an impeccable source I’d be dubious. As it is, we can only wait (and hope) for confirmation of its authenticity.

one problem tho, the sponsor logo says fly emirate, isnt it fly emirates?
5. Gooner For life | March 17th, 2010 at 11:08 pm
Damn yeah it does say emirate….may be a fake
6. Arse1 | March 17th, 2010 at 11:10 pm
No It does say Fly Emirates on the shirt its just the way the shirt is positioned you only see the first half of the letter s.
More to the point this kit is amazing, a proper Arsenal kit.
7. arse | March 17th, 2010 at 11:11 pm
Now that is an Arsenal shirt. Fuckin awesome looking.
8. Harris | March 17th, 2010 at 11:13 pm
Who would put so much time on making this if it was fake?
There is an S, look hard.
9. Sagar | March 17th, 2010 at 11:18 pm
Would emirates agree to their ad being so small?
10. The Grockle | March 17th, 2010 at 11:24 pm
Would love it if it were genuine, only doubt i’ve got is the fact that the emirates logo is much smaller than usual.
Not sure if the sponsors would be too pleased with that tbh.
11. me | March 17th, 2010 at 11:26 pm
No chance the sponsors would take a tiny logo when ever kit in the world has the sponsor logo dominating the front.
Would be awesome, but no chance.

FANTASTIC!
Chamakh will look the dog’s bollox in that next season!

GOONER PORN! I’m in love again….
14. RedCurrant | March 17th, 2010 at 11:36 pm
It would be an awesome shirt to wear as defending champions. . .
15. Dats | March 17th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
Sorry-don’t believe it. There is no way they would omit the current badge. This is registered copyright and without it there would be no legal redress on fake copies.
16. GunnerX | March 17th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
Oh Yes, that’s the one, gimme, gimme!

Possibly the club have sent this out without official sanction, just to gauge fan reaction on the blogs and forums. If someone there is reading this, then they will see that 99% of fans love this kit! It is simple, traditional and proper “red shirt white sleeves”.
19. Womble | March 17th, 2010 at 11:59 pm
How gullible can you get.
20. andrew | March 18th, 2010 at 12:00 am
To those who think a sponsor would be opposed to the idea of having their brand minimised on the shirt - just look at Manchester City’s current third strip. Remember also that given the branding on the away shirt plus our pre-season tournament plus the name of the stadium….plus the fact that a popular design will sell thousands of strips and it will still have the Emirates brand on it. It seems hard to think they wouldn’t go in for the idea.
21. Daxxjoker | March 18th, 2010 at 12:25 am
This shirt is ugly and fake !
22. Henro | March 18th, 2010 at 12:42 am
Bringing back d old days, does luk gud
23. weg | March 18th, 2010 at 1:07 am
What the fuck is this? Another gunnerblog board?
24. Arsenal Station | March 18th, 2010 at 1:25 am
Could we really be that lucky for that to be the design? How anyone can think that our most classic shirt of all-time is ugly is beyond me. And like others, I would be highly skeptical that Emirates would agree to such a small logo. Doing that on a third shirt like City is one thing, doing it on Arsenal’s home shirt is quite another.
25. Gonner10 | March 18th, 2010 at 1:28 am
There is a chance Emirates would go for it… The fact everyone would be talking about the brand and therefore this would create massive exposure for them. Its something different and potentially there is a chance they woud go for it. Anyway amsing kit, proper Arsenal shirt….Come on you reds.

I’d like to see one change, I think they should move the Fly Emirates logo to the middle and make it bigger like on the current kit, it gives it a little more “face”
28. terenggunner | March 18th, 2010 at 3:06 am
It’s a fake! Emirates our chief sponsor would definitely not approve of their sponsorship label be made so minute and tiny.
29. B Hudson | March 18th, 2010 at 3:43 am
The other MAJOR problem with this kit is the cannon logo. That was the old logo which could not be copyrighted and that’s the entire reason Arsenal went with the new cannon logo: they could copyright it and get royalties from anyone wanting to use it.
The cannon and the obscenely small “Fly Emirates” logo is a dead giveaway. Emirates shelled out some major $$$ to be the kit sponsor, so I seriously doubt they’d be agreeable to suddenly having the smallest logo in all of football.
The photoshop evidence is pretty much the final nail in the coffin.
That said, I’d buy 2, at least, as this would be a truly fantastic kit, but at this point I’ll be happy if Nike just gives us back our damned WHITE SLEEVES like any good Arsenal kit should have.
30. Peace_fabby | March 18th, 2010 at 6:09 am
I love dat kit,tho i dnt knw hw our sponsors will react like my otherz says due tiny fly emirate but i love the kit so much.
31. gunnerotis | March 18th, 2010 at 6:32 am
Has no-one noticed the launch date - 1.4.2010…April Fools Day !!
32. Maanav | March 18th, 2010 at 6:32 am
The kit is lovely! It’s simple yet assertive (that’s elegance!), but I doubt the sponsors will allow their name dwarfed to such an extent.

33. John Ted | March 18th, 2010 at 6:39 am
That kit is amazing. Add the premier league winners badge on the sleeves and its perfect. I thought Arsenal was to ditch Nike for Umbro.
34. gunnerotis | March 18th, 2010 at 6:40 am
Sorry all…my screen isn’t too good, forget what i said as the launch date is 1.6.2010….should have gone to Specsavers !!
35. Slyderman | March 18th, 2010 at 6:45 am
The kit looks superb! I simply love it and will definitely get one if it’s really the new kit! It ozzes history like no other!
36. shedzy | March 18th, 2010 at 8:01 am
it looks great, but it features our old logo (which is WHY it looks great!) - so it cannot be real.
The copyright on that old logo has expired, which means that if this WAS our new kit, anyone could copy it without being in breach of our copyright (although clearly the nike logo is on there, and that is still protected)
still, i’d buy this for a tenner if i saw it, its much nicer than whatever our real kit will actually end up being
37. Ad | March 18th, 2010 at 8:31 am
I can’t be arsed with all these throwback mock up shirts. We aren’t living in the early 20th century so why wear shirts to pretend so.
I’m sure Emirates Airlines would be really happy with their logo being practically unreadable on TV, and why would they suddenly drop the Arsenal badge.
If it’s fake (and I’m sure it is) then good riddance but if it’s real then I ain’t wearing it!
38. Gooner 48 | March 18th, 2010 at 8:33 am
THE shirt, the badge the Biz
39. tiaan | March 18th, 2010 at 8:53 am
great kit would love it!! but i think it would only be worn in a single game
40. boyceeee | March 18th, 2010 at 9:51 am
launch date is 01.06.10, not april fools day.
Emirates logo may be small, but i think they get enough exposure considering our ground is called “Emirates Stadium” and their logo is all over the advertising boards around pitch and outside ground!
canon is correct way , as in new badge has cannon pointing in opposite direction to the old cannon. the new badge and new cannon are copyrighted. i think, and hope, is the real deal!
41. BennyGooner | March 18th, 2010 at 11:07 am
… PLEASE let this be the ‘real’ new kit … it’s f*cking awesome !
42. SIAG666 | March 18th, 2010 at 11:21 am
Its a fake. There will be Fly Emirates in the usual lettering across the front. I agree with Ad…i want something modern, a shirt celebrating 125 years being a shirt that was worn in 1971. WTF? Its not the double of 71 celebration shirt…as that will come out in 2011 season as our 3rd shirt.
I agree red with white sleeves is a must but f*** me is that all Nike can come up with?
43. Bracknell Gooner | March 18th, 2010 at 11:51 am

45. GOONERSVILLE | March 18th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
I dont really like it to be honest, it looks like what it is , a dated old fashion shirt. It was good in the 70’s but come on were in 2010, I want to see something better but deffinately want the return to complete white sleeves again. Also want a decent yellow & blue away kit………sort it!

49. Erichero | March 18th, 2010 at 2:47 pm
It’s a good bet that nobody is in agreement with me, but the current shirt is my all-time favourite home shirt. When I’m up in the UK in June I’ll be looking to grab one while stores are clearing their old stock.
I’ll admit that this one is a little less sporty and that makes it more wearable in public.
50. itai | March 18th, 2010 at 3:42 pm
its fake! it doesnt have the arsenal badge on it!
51. ian | March 18th, 2010 at 3:58 pm
this is really nice… but i’m afraid it’s PHOTOSHOPPED…. the darker tone behind emblem gave it away…
nike, please take note and produce something similar…
52. SLG | March 18th, 2010 at 4:21 pm
How can you not like it! Its tradition and if your a true fan you know what that means to our club - Were not the Scum. Its fucking beautiful.

54. Harry Fox | March 18th, 2010 at 6:34 pm
I love Arsenal and i will support them no matter what they wear. But this is by far the worst looking shirt i have ever seen. it’s embarrassing!
55. RobC | March 18th, 2010 at 6:53 pm
This hoax is nonsense x 2.
Firstly, there isn’t a chance in hell that the Fly Emirates logo will be even 1mm smaller than usual. Their sponsorship contract will be extremely specific about the size of the logo on the shirt.
Second, there is no chance that the shirt will not have the usual trade-marked Arsenal crest. (Without this, the club can’t take legal action to shut down people who make fake copies)
56. Sean Peaty | March 18th, 2010 at 7:02 pm
Due to nike linking up with umbro i believe this is the real deal… and it does say FLY EMIRATES not fly emirate
57. PAKMAN | March 18th, 2010 at 8:22 pm
So the one posted above has officially been debunked as a fake.
I mocked this one up this afternoon and I think something like this could have real potential. White sleeves, modern fit, nike design.
