Cole Stays
0 guns July 18th, 2005
So, after all the huffing and puffing, tooing and froing, Ashley Cole has signed a one year extension to his Arsenal deal.
Still, for 70 grand a week, who wouldn’t?
I think this basically means we’re going to give the tumultuous Cole/Arsenal relationship a year to settle down, and if it still hasn’t, he’ll be out the door.
Meanwhile, Arsene has spoken out about meeting Baptista in Brazil, saying, “We approached Sevilla first. At some stage you have to speak to the player. You do it because you have to know if the player wants to join you. When you’re close to ending negotiations with the club, you have to know if you have to put a million more in.”
Well, that suggests he just might want to join us, at least…

i don’t think we will buy anyone big coz there isn’t long til the the season.
i really want us to buy Baptista but it seems as though Wenger isn’t willing to pay what he’s worth, plus we might lose him to spurs which would be heart breaking
Wenger needs to pull his finger out and do something fast

It’s obvious Del Nido is fucking around with us at the moment. Let sp*rs have him, there’s plenty of quality strikers availible if we fail to sign him.

He isn’t worth 20 mil Euros at all. Only 1 yr left on his contract, and he is definely not worth more than Vieira.

How much does anyone reckon Micheal Ballack would cost?. He’s been making noises about leaving Bayern, and he’s just what we need to replace PV4, if not better judging by last seasons champions league performances. He has admitted he prefers Arsenals style over other premiership teams, and it would be extra sweet to steal him from under ManUre’s noses.

correct me if im wrong, but Baptista is a striker, our main priority should be replacing PV, hope Wenger turns his attention somewhere else like Newcastle’s Jenas

Actually, before joining Sevilla, Babtista played as a centar midfielder in Brasil, but they changed his position with good results.
So he’s capable to play both roles.
Still, he’s not a direct replacement of PV4, because he’s ain’t much defensive player.

Erm, he played as a defensive midfielder for both Sevilla and Brazil. Some were calling for him to replace Gilberto for the selecao. Paddy’s been called a defensive midfielder, but he isn’t exactly that.
The papers are the ones who are fucking around with us at the moment.
