another day, and no transfer news, typical. Did wenger not learn by his mistakes last summer when we ended up getting stuck with baptista who didnt hav time 2 have pre season training with us, and who clearly was not good enough for real madrid. As soon as the season was over wenger should of put in a bid for tevez, (hes young but getting better and better) but now we have to wait till the copa america is over until anything happens (which will probably be nothing). Everyone clearly knows we hav money but mayb its wengers stubboness not to spend so that if we win something next season (highkly unlikely at mo) he can say he did it with youngsters and without spending the money. We do need atleast 4 quality signings before pre season friendlies start otherwise we will get left behind. Spuds are taking a massive gamble on spashing the cash but if it comes off and they get 4th then we are gonna look pretty stupid, especially as people seem to presume the youngsters r gonna get beta - who says?
PHW seems to be major problem especially with his conflicting statements. David Dein was sneaky, but he just wanted to keep pace with the other top clubs because he could the problems ahead, surely he should be forgiven and allowed back, just for the fact that his expertise in world football massive. Im sure he would of got a better deal for us on the henry transfer.
I really hope wenger delivers a few suprises soon because from what ive seen and read many r very unhappy with whats happening to our club.

Kem,

First, dont get so angry mate its not going to do you any good.

What we need is a boardroom revolution. Better still a board that we could elect and would have their tenure based on their manifesto, a bit like dare I say it Barcelona & Real Madrid.

Not sure how that would it improve us but at least every summer our new sporting director can promise us that we will be buying Barcelona or Real Madrid's best player. That'll put the shoe on the other foot. Imagine that hey!

We as a club can then tell that smug Hervé Villechaize( the midget in Fantasy Island) lookalike Guillame Balague that Arsenal will not be selling our best players to Spain but in fact be bringing over theirs instead.

Every summer for the last 8 summers I've had to put up with that toad instigating their transfer policies. Wouldn't it be great to stick it up him, Graham Hunter of Sky, Steve Curry and the rest for a change.

I agree with some of your points but I think that everybody is getiing a little too depressed. True we have had two bad seasons but if you look at the last campain we had the best record against the top three teams. Add to that the fact that we lost or drew a whole host of games that we actually dominated but could not find the back of the net. I would be very worried if we were being outplayed in games but the fact is we are not we just lack the cutting edge of previous years. I dont think this will take lots of big name signings to remedy just a little more cohesion. I actually think that losing Henry could well have a positive effect on the team esp. as Wenger could possibly change the formation as he no longer has his star player to build around. This would help against the lower teams who seem to have worked out Arsenals style of play.

I dont want to sound like a blind optimist but I think things are not as bad as a lot of people make out.

Whatever happens next season is make or break for a lot of our young players.

However, spending big doesn’t always guarantee success.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Very true Oracle. But Arsenal as a club has BROKEN EVEN since Wenger arrived. WE'VE RE-COUPED everything we've spent, not spent a fukkin penny.

The board are taking the piss, they're just pocketing all profits, GO TO ARSENAL.CON & SEARCH FOR OUR BOARD MEMBERS, it's an utter joke, Hill-Wood can just fuck off, he has no money OWNS LESS THAN 1% OF ARSENAL. I dont care if your grandad owned Arsenal, FUCK OFF YOU GERIATRIC CUNT! Our board - Lord Harris of Peckham, Sir Chips Keswick (he's called CHIPS for fuck sake), Lady Bracewell Smith, 'Lady' FFS!!

As someone said earlier this board is just fleecing me for money, Fiszman just profits so he can dodge taxes for the umpteenth year, then fuck off to Zurich.

Most of you are too right. This stuff about 'finance' and 'lack of money' is some of the saddest apologetic bullshit I have ever heard. It's not right. The repayments are like mortgage payments and you should make plans for a playing contingeny next to this. Believe me, money is available at the club. The only people who want to believe this are the rose-tinted bedwetters.

The true 'bedwetters' at AFC are those too scared and worried that our club will implode if daddy Wenger leaves. Seriously, I agree with the guy who said some of us sound like fucking spuds. I am worried too. I don't care what other fans say, we do NOT have the 'best young squad in the world'. Rooney, Anderson, Nani and Ronaldo is better for starters. Anyway, this is NOT youth-team football. It is compeitive Premiership football and this squad is nowhere near good enough. I read someone here the other day call our front-line 'world-class'. I almost spat my cornflakes out my gob. Cesc, Gilberto world-class, Gallas when fit. That's it. That's one single world-class player in attacking positions. RVP? Good player but you cannot call a player thats yet to have a full season under his belt 'world-class'. Sorry.

Arsenal F.C are charging its fans the most expensive ticket prices in European (and world!) football. This is ridiculous. Would you pay £10,000 for a drawing my some nursery child when you could get a Picasso for the same price? No. What would that make you? A mug.

Arsenal fans are no mugs so it's time for the rose-tinted bedwetters to wake up to the reality. In case they forgot I'll run it by them again:
- This club has the highest ticket prices in world football
-This team and squad are nowhere near good enough
-This team has not been competitive for 3 years now
- There is increased PL revenue
-Spurs have made more impact on the transfer market than we have. Yet, they have no CL revenue from anywhere, much lower ticket prices, much higher annual net transfer revenue, much lower gate income, and make far less money from global merchandising and marketing.
- Arsenal FC has the world's highest gate revenue in football according to a recent study by Deloitte
- Arsene Wenger sold our best player to our parent club on the cheap, without giving any thought to first lining up a replacement.
-Despite that he still found time to fly out to a Norwgian nursery to sign an infant from there
- Arsene Wenger has too much power at Arsenal and he can no longer justify it. His youth project has backfired and the club continues a decline (it's not 'transition' when you have a total of 45 pts deficit in 2 seasons. Decline)
- Since AW has been at Arsenal the club has broken EVEN on transfers. No other PL club can boast this. Not even Watford or lilttle-spenders. Therefore to say there's no money saved up is nigh on an insult
- Man City and Bolton were 2 teams that moved stadiums without a sugar daddy paying for it. Yet Bolton have done remarkably well and have even done better than us in the transfer market over the past 3 years e.g. they have a better striker than anyone on our payroll right now.
- There is too much dross in the Arsenal squad
- Wenger has appointed a man with no negotiating experience as Director of Football
-Wenger is jeopordizing the club by not signing a contract extension. This means there is no stability and no players will join until it's sorted. This would not be tolerated at any big club. He would either have to sign or be booted out asap
- Wenger has already been on 2 holidays despite one of the worst seasons he's ever had at Arsenal. He went on holiday without securing transfer targets first
- Our rivals continue to strengthen on teams already more successful and superior to ours. While we have a load of apologists who misguidedly think this cheap poor squad can compete. It will struggle for 4th
- Cesc Fabregas continues to publicly disrespect the club at will but it seems he can say whatever he wants.
- The club makes no effort to keep the fans who fund it informed. PHW continues to chat shit in public. 'Doesn't care about pleasing fans'? This fan will tell him to fuck right off and stuff his ticket prices. That's me out.
So there's that.

The only 'bedwetters' are the ones unwilling to face up to reality.

Gelbs,

A bit of friendly advise. As much as I agree with you on many points I think you need to tone down the french hating. Like you nothing will please me more than watching our young pretenders step up their game but we will need 2 or 3 major signings to get the best out of them.

However, spending big doesn't always guarantee success. For example, for a few years now the spuds have out spent us and have bought predominately English players, has it made them better than us? No. What it has done is get them closer but is that because they have bought well or that we have lost several key players for whatever reasons? A mixture of both I think. Despite them bringing in Bent & Bale for £26mil, in terms of improvement they're not going to gain a considerable amount of extra points because of them are they? They spent more than us last year and finished further behind didn't they?

Bent will replace Keane and as much we hate the caravan dweller he did score important goals for them last year. Will Bent score those goals and additional important goals? I doubt it, Bent is easier to read and less creative. Bale, well how many points will a left-back give you. A novice left-back at that and one that hasn't played in the premiership yet.

Thats £26mil and no significant improvement. Now, if we spent that and got in for arguments sake a winger with pace and one that can score goals. An experienced forward that is a proven scorer, even if its one that will only gives us enough time for Van Persie, Bendtner and Vela to improve then it will be a major achievement. After that who knows?

Too right Deise; I'm off to tend to my Nan's grave then off to counsel my younger cousin who's dad is ill in hospital, then to hospital to visit said uncle, then another afternoon wading around in liquid mud and torrential rain.......... and I'll probably still be more cheerful than I would be if i stayed online with these goons ;-)
